Rough condition ... even for winter
The course was in really rough shape, even for the winter season. I'm not real sure how it is going to be ready to go when the weather warms up, which is unfortunate because the layout of the course has some neat features.
Way too many deep divot marks on the greens. A lot of that is on players to take care of themselves, but also management needs to do a better job of maintenance.
Pace of play was good on the front nine but when we turned to hole 10 there were three groups waiting to tee off, including a fivesome. Not real sure what happened, but rather than wait we just played the front nine again. Not ideal, but better than getting stuck playing a 2.5-hour back nine on a short course.
Decent Fun
Overall, a fun little course. The fairways and some areas of the rough were not in good shape, but overall I had a good time playing it. Worth the $32!
Great par 66 course and hidden gem for the price
By far this is one of the funnest and challenging courses you can play in the Kansas City area. 18 holes with cart for $25.00 Monday through Friday if your a veteran or first responder, and the carts are equipped with gps, score tracker , radio, weather map, and the ability to email your score card to you after you complete round. What a great value. Yes the downside is some of the tee boxes , fairways, and greens are little rough but come on people for $25.00 with a cart you can’t go wrong at this course. Your not playing at Augusta or Pebble Beach. I play here at least 3 times a week and average score is a 70 on 18 for me . Bring extra balls, hole 6 and 7 are known to eat them, This course a few years back was one of the top their courses to play because of the grass and upkeep of course l. I would highly recommend you try a round or two at teetering rocks. Pace of play is on par with other courses as a single I can get 18 done in about 2hr 45 minutes and that’s with losing couple of balls on hole 6 and 7. Give it a try sometime and if you see me out there just ask and I can kinda help you with what club is best for each hole.
Not worth the money
Front 9 was ok. The back 9 is horrible short par 4s and par 3s all tucked way to close to each other. Greens all right next to each other. Had to do a lot of waiting on players ahead because of the back 9 so close to each other and short.
Arid condition
The fairways and tee boxes were in terrible shape! Had to use a hammer to pound in the tee
Fun course…. But super hot day
8:40 Tee time and the course was very foggy. Played the first 3 holes barely able to follow the ball. Course was pretty empty so I never had to wait. I REALLY like this course! I’m not a big hitter but it will definitely challenge you. Only hole that you can REALLY try to hit a long drive is 5. Course needs work for sure but is very playable. I play a lot alone just because I tend to not plan ahead and this is one of the few courses around that will let a single out. Tee boxes are in rough shape! Greens are playable but many weeds and bare spots. Greens are decent. All in all a very good value and fun to play. Once you learn how to play the course, you can score well. Most par 72 courses, I shoot high 80s. Teetering is the only course in town that I can shoot in the 70s.
Okay for the money
Pace of play was slow, about 12 minutes. Could use a marshal.
The weather has been hot and dry in the area. Tees were fine. Greens were fine. Fairways had rough spots. Maintanence is lacking.
NO water available on course. No cart person.
But would play again for that price.
Weed control
Tee Boxes are an absolute mess. From some that are dirt to others not mowed at all. Crabgrass is all over the course. No attempt to control any weeds. Some greens ok. Painted to cover damage. They clearly put no money into the course and that’s why it is 33$ including cart. Sad to see a nice old course with a fun layout just left to rot away.
Teetering Rock
This course is visually beautiful, with plenty of views.
