Course was in good shape.
Course was in good shape even though it has been hot and dry.
Nice course--8 par 3's
We had not played here in a while but our normal course was aerating this week so we got a good deal on price and went to Teetering Rocks. It's a pretty course, lots of trees--as well as many houses lining the way. Lots of par 3's (8!) so sometimes it backs up. But all in all we thought we would put this in our rotation to play again.
Course fun to play
I rate it a 4. The par 4,s are risk taking over the trees and shortens the distance for possible birdies.
backed up
Course was in good shape and very fun with some challenging holes.
But it was backed up, almost like it was overbooked.
Hidden Gem
Overall great course and really fun executive course. Club selection and shot choice is imperative which gives the nice challenge. I’ve played too many executive courses that require little to no strategy and about 4 or 5 total clubs. The only reason I chose 4 stars is because the first cut was about 3rd cut length, but it seemed that the mowers were getting out to trim near the end of the day. Would definitely play this course again!
Nice Course
I play this course often. Always in great shape. Greens roll true. Today pace of play was terrible, ended up giving up after 9 holes.
Poor Maintenance
While I understand that lots of rain can make it challenging to keep a course looking good; there is no excuse for the amount of dead grass that was all around the greens. I also got charged two full greens fees once I arrived in spite of reserving two tee times. I was not very pleased with the experience.
Fun. But come on
No complaints on the course but one. WHY would you not bag the rough? If the rough was bagged and there wasn’t dead grass everywhere it would have made my round more enjoyable and would have made the course look way better. Also a faster pace of play for everyone too due to the fact you couldn’t see your ball under the dead grass EVERYWHERE.
Overbooked
Again, another golf course that overbooked causing very long waits in between holes. The course itself was great but the waiting in between holes 5 minutes to up to over 15 minutes just waiting to play
First outing of the year
I golfed for the first time this year and chose teetering rocks. I enjoyed the layout of the course. The rough was very long and hard to find balls, even if just off the fairway. But it’s rained a ton, so it’s reasonable. More than anything, my biggest issue was the poor signage for next holes and directions—nothing anywhere. It was impossible to navigate the course as a first time patron. All in all, though, it was a great evening and a cool little course.
Great course for a great price
The course has mature trees and rolling hills. At times, you can't see anyone else but a few fairways are close to each other. It was pretty muddy but that might be true of any course this spring. with all the raider have had. We lost a few balls that landed just off the green and sunk in the mud. Great modern and clean restrooms.
Not too sure about the reviews
Played here earlier this month while visiting, grew up in Raytown and played here many years ago with a local friend. Pretty much forgot just how marginal this course truly is. If you're serious about golf and want to work on your game, you might want to go elsewhere. I'm somewhat astonished of the reviews, perhaps most are locals that know what to expect when going. The front 9 and back 9 are basically 2 different courses. I play a course that's extremely hilly and long, no way in heck people walk it. The problem with T Rocks is the front 9 isn't suitable for walking, it's actually absurd to consider. If you play here, you know what I mean. The course shouldn't allow irresponsible folks like the ones walking in front of us to make this decision for themselves. For anyone behind walkers on the front 9 it's a source of irritation for what results in horrific pace of play. Walk the back 9 all day long, but just not the front 9. We won't return due to that alone but the course itself just isn't great. I'm a 60 yr old dude that hits pretty decent, not a scratch golfer but can hold my own on most courses. I nearly drove the greens on most par 4s from the back tees so obviously their really short. Too many blind shots that you have no idea where to aim unless you've played here several times. I didn't mind all the short par 3s on the back, you need practice at those also but the front and back 9s don't flow well together. At barely 4000 yards and par 66 it shouldn't take over 4 hours to play but if you start out behind walkers you can count on it.
