Oak Valley Golf Course & Resort

Course is very challenging! The tee boxes could/should be more even and not on a slant on some holes! The fairways are somewhat ragged. The greens are in excellent shape!

Getting back to what it was a few years back. Course is making a great improvement since the last time I played it in April 2023. Great value for what I paid. I highly recommend it.

The course is in a great setting. There is a lot of wildlife on and around the course. It was very challenging. The course was in good shape, but it was dry and some of the grass was burnt up on the fairways. This should be better once we get some rain. Understand the conditions with the dry/hot weather recently. The pace was great until the last three or four holes. Overall, it was a great experience, and I hope to play the course again in the future. The clubhouse had a great bar and restaurant for after golf socializing. The staff were excellent and nice.

This fairways on this course are pitched either left or right, you might as well just hit it in the rough because I don’t care where the ball lands in the fairway it rolls into the rough on either side. I hit 13 shots right down the middle of the fairway and ended up in the rough on 11 of those shots! I’m not bragging but I play 3-4 times a week and have a single digit handicap. They were rolling the greens today and they played super fast so you needed to adjust your putt speed accordingly and overall once on the green play was acceptable but boy those fairway rollouts sucked.

Lots of par 4 and 5 holes and plenty of hills. 1st hole has quite a hazard if not careful. Because of a lot of cart path only holes, I could only get through 15 holes.

Seems the clubhouse closed early and I saw no key drop box.

Practice putting green had only one hole and not maintained. Still a sign stated golf shoes only???

Tee boxes nice. Greens long and very slow, but rolled well. The fairways though were so long in the best spots they were three times longer than what I would consider fairway length. And we played right after they were mowed because there were an insane amount of long grass clippings that were clumped from being wet still . Over correcting from early summer drought and bad reviews the other way I assume Last few weeks have been extremely wet so there was no reason they needed be that long. The rough was basically just mowed weeds with tons of problem areas. Lots of dirt spots, water drainage little gullies, right off the fairway. There is almost no way you could play the ball down on the majority of the holes.

It was obviously hot, I had pulled golf cart off path and under tree 4 ft from path at # 4 and was told by marshall to keep carts on path until entering fairway. I told him ok and will follow his direction. Upon grabbing my club to tee off he said "you going to move your cart !!!!" . I replied " you want me to move it now before I tee off? He said yes and gave me a dirty look.
So I moved the cart. It was hot for all of us and sure he was feeling the heat. I payed $ 200.00 for my group to play a round your marshall needs smile and ask vs tell. Remember golfers can choose to golf anywhere today for this price.

Very impressed with the work that's been done here, my congrats to management and crew. For the 100 degree heat, greens and fairways were very nice, but just a little slow.

Oak Valley’s greens were in very good shape but slow! Most of the rest of the course is good but there are a lot of bare spots . Overall for the price it’s a decent deal, just plan on taking relief in places that aren’t marked for it !

Good layout, continuing improvement of the course despite dry conditions. A friendly staff and well range red operation.
