Bogey Hills Country Club

Got an invite to play via a member my boss knows and had an amazing time. Great layout that was in pristine condition, even for November. I like to play different courses and hate playing the same course over and over again. However, Bogey Hills is a private course I could see playing all the time and never getting tired of it!

For a Saturday tee time, the course was crowded but our group played in right at four hours. All the holes are interesting and the course is challenging. The par 3s are outstanding, especially No. 13, and have nice views. The greens were in awesome shape and were fast! You had to stay below the hole or your first putt (or chip) would just race by. It is rare that I have to hit every club in my bag, but I had to at Bogey Hills.

The final hole on each side is quite difficult. Nine is a three-shot par 5 that forces you to hit shots to specific landing spots and is a beast of a hole. The fairway on 18 squeezes you down to a very narrow spot in front of water. In addition, the green runs all the way up to the clubhouse. When we played, the hole was at the very back. If you hit an approach shot thin, I could easily see someone on the porch getting hit by a ball!

The routing was a little confusing. Nearly all of the greens were right next to the following tee box but there were two or three that were quite a distance from the next hole. Some private clubs feel “stuffy”, but the vibe at Bogey Hills was welcoming and warm. The staff was incredibly nice and considerate.

If I get the chance to play there again, I for sure would clear my schedule.

I played this on a Monday "Open" play day, when the club is normally closed. The course was in good condition. The pace of play was good, the course was full with foursomes ahead and behind us. If you have not yet played here, and can get a tee time it is worth a play.
