Truly a gem
Since moving to Kalamazoo from Raleigh, NC last year, this track is as close to Carolina golf that I've seen in the area yet. Great practice facility, and some tricky par 5's. I'll be coming back often.
short but tricky
need to play strategicly on several holes
One of the Best in the Area
Heritage Glen is a challenging and fun track between Kalamazoo and st Joseph Michigan. We play it several times each season and always find it in great shape. Michael in the pro shop is always good to work with. The food and beverage staff is attentive. The first hole is a deceiving par four with a hard left to the green at the end. The bunkers will get you if you aren't careful. It's definitely worth the drive! No pun intended
well maintained golf course
The pace of play was good.
The scenery was awesome.
We all enjoy the course compared to many others in and around the area. Highly recommend this course.
Fantastic course
I love playing Heritage Glen. The course is always in great shape from tee to green. The fairways are crisp and the greens are fairly quick. The course is not overly long from the middle tees but still provides a challenge. I will always come back to play again.
course condition is very good.
Putting green is very good condition and smooth.
Gem
Only downfall is no direct route from south bend. And Michigan roads are terrible.
All Right in Front of You
Nice layout some possible birdies and some real challenges
Foresome playing Heritage Glen
Very nice course,
Play the course and make good decisions as it has some challenging holes.
Great shape and very enjoyable course.
Would recommend this course as a must play!
The course was nice
Played pretty tough with several blind shots. Enjoyed the challenge and the staff was particularly nice.
Beautiful setting.
We had a cloudy day but no rain and it was a great day to golf.
Well maintained course, easy to get yourself in trouble
This is one of the fun courses around here for single digit handicappers. From the blue tees, you have to be somewhat accurate and long hitters have the advantage.
Greens are undulating at times but it was quite receptive as there was a huge thunderstorm the day before.
the course was challenging
This course was fair but one of the longer courses I've played. Greens were really nice.
short but hard
was paired up with another two, rather not, course is not long but somewhat tight didn't hit driver on many holes
Hidden Jewel
Picked this course because my buddy and I wanted to play a course halfway between our homes in Detroit and Chicago. Looked somewhat out of the way so my expectations were low. What a find! It was a beautiful course, very well kept, and quite challenging. Some holes even reminded me of Treetops. I was very surprised that it wasn't as busy as you would expect for such a nice course on a beautiful Saturday in June. And the food was FANTASTIC! I highly recommend Heritage Glen.
Exceptional value.
I have played over 30 of the top 100 public courses in the U.S. (as ranked by Golf Digest), and the condition of this course is as good or better than many of those. The greens are in great shape and very fast--faster than many of the top 100 courses I have played. The course condition is nearly as good as Harbor Shores in Benton Harbor. The fairways are a little more lush at Harbor Shores, but the greens fees are significantly higher. For the price, Heritage Glen is an exceptional value. It would be my "go to" course if I still lived in the area.
Quick tip: On the par 5 # 4, keep your approach shot to the right side for a better shot at the green. On the par 5 # 5 (yep, back-to-back par 5's) keep your ball to the left of the fairway off the tee as the fairway slopes to the woods on the right. Also, be aware of the pond on the front and right on your approach to the green on #5. On #6 make note that the fairway ends at about 270 yards and drops into a creek.
Heritage Glen Golf Club
I would say that Heritage Glen is one of the best conditioned courses available in the Kalamazoo/Grand Rapids area. I played 18 holes before May 1 and every one of the 18 greens had fully recovered from aerating. The course can get a little bit mushy in certain areas..but for the most part the course has a lot of color right now and the greens are easily the quickest I've played on this spring.
Carts are nice and new-ish and the course layout is easily understood, no wondering if you're hitting/driving toward the proper hole. Absolutely worth a hot deal.
slow round takes enjoyment away from round
this course was in good shape considering it's early spring, however, seems to be a little too tricked up. the worse part was there was no ranger and we were stuck behind a group of 7 young men drinking more beer than playing golf which lead to many lost ball searches and a 5 hour round. too bad, won't be back.
Great value for the money
Great value for the money must play in the area! I play this course a few times a year excellent place to play.
Heritage glen
Course was in great shape for this time of year. Pace of play was good. Some easy and harder holes.
