Green Knoll Golf Course
About
Green Knoll Golf Course in Bridgewater Township has a varied terrain that provides a unique character to the course. The course sprawls across gently rolling hills dappled with mature trees. Much of the course's challenges are a result of the tricky contours. Some of the elevation changes are dramatic but there are also some subtle ones, which can be just as tricky. Further accuracy is required to maneuver the tight fairways. There are definitely challenges in store throughout but overall the golf course's playability appeals to all skill levels, from novices to avid golfers. It measures a manageable 6,443 yards from the back tees. In addition to the 18-hole course, there is also a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course. Green Knoll is one of five golf courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission.

Mr Eric C
Terrible experience, i prepaid for two golfers, we are five 5 minutes late scheduled tee time 12:50, the starter sent others and won’t let us to catch up, he hold us to wait, he said will be quick but actually we waited for about one and a half hours, and he does nothing, we can’t wait anymore and did not play, it is terrible experience I ever had inpublic golf course
Challenging but Well-kept
I lost quite a few balls playing around the trees and water but the fairways and rough grass are maintained much better than other courses I’ve played in New Jersey. Only got 11 holes but still felt like it was a good value for what I paid.
Awful Customer Service and Staff Friendliness
I’ve been playing here for 10 years and never have I heard the bs rule of “once you drive to the back 9, you can’t get refunded”. Lightning in the air and starting to rain. Didn’t hit a tee ball and you can’t refund any money of the jacked up rates you charge for rounds. Terrible experience and customer service. Best of luck!
County member and resident. My home course that I have played well over 50 times. 9/10 times the staff is so rude and unfriendly. Will 100% never be back. BS customer service and accountability.
Do better.
Great course
For a public course it is in great shape. Many challenging holes, you may need to play strategically. Just your basic club house, vending machines & bathrooms. Got a hot deal which made it even better. I would still play this course without a hot deal.
Nice public course
This is a nice course in the Somerset County park system.
Well maintained from tee to green.
Not pristine and manicured like a country club but very good conditions for a public golf course.
No food and beverage available with the exception of some vending machines in the club house.
Excellent place if you’re just interested in playing a round and not hanging out afterwards.
No driving range but a large, well maintained putting green.
Pace of play was good for a weekday. Caught up to the group ahead on the back 9 but waiting time was acceptable. Might be slower on weekends.
Would recommend to others.
Well worth it
Nice public golf course. Course was in good shape with grass everywhere it should. Greens where nice and decent speed. Would definitely play again. Rough was a little high but over all had a good day
Not worth it
Lobby of the pro shop smelled like an elderly home.
Group in front of us walked resulting in 5+ hour round.
No cart girl for drinks. Only thing available was vending machines in the smelley pro shop.
Tee boxes below average with some not level.
Fairways and greens were good.
Love this course!!
This was my first time playing this course. The greens, fairways, and overall condition of the course were exceptional for a public course.
I found the layout to be the perfect balance of openness and thoughtfully placed challenges — bunkers, native grasses, hazards, trees, etc. At first, it seemed like it was going to be a cinch, but as we played hole after hole, I came to appreciate the nuances. I got the feeling I could come back dozens of times and still be discovering new aspects of the course.
I walked and found it to be hilly but manageable. I’m fairly fit, but I felt like I got a pretty good work out after 18 holes.
I rated five stars across the board with the exception of amenities, which were nice but pretty basic. I think they turn the pitch and putt course into a driving range at certain times, but it wasn’t open for a warm up when I was there. Also, there was no café or really any place to get a drink or bite between nines. That said, the clubhouse and shop, although bare-bones, seemed to be newly renovated and was quite nice.
The clubhouse staff and starter were nice and welcoming. Pace of play was one of the best I have experienced at a municipal course.
Definitely highly recommended. I will be coming back again and again.
Great Course
Loved everything about this course and definitely will be back! Super friendly starter, elevation changes, tough holes (watch out for the #2 handicap hole, as it seems deceivingly easy until you hit your approach shot). Stay in the short stuff as the rough is heavy and the fescue is insane. Highly recommend.
