Nothing stood out....poorly maked from greens to next hole was an adventure many times
With all do respect....I played this course years ago when it had 27 holes. They now have 18, but in very poor condition. will not play it again.
Hi "u000005478589" We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry about your recent experience at the course and hope that you will give us another try in the near future.
Place is ran down. Cart broke down second hole had to push back to club house. There greens are terrible sand and patches every where and the back nine was closed.
Hi "Jhouser7 " we appreciate your patience as the greens were recently aerified which all courses must go through at least twice a year. The greens then take several weeks to heal after this maintenance. We are sorry the course was in poor shape due to this and we hope to see you again once the greens have healed properly.
Good course for Money
Super friendly staff!!! Course is perfect for the money and awesome electric golf carts that move fast!
Hi "u7125588" Thanks for the great review. We will definitely pass along the kind words regarding the course and staff. Thank you!
What a dump
Limbs, branches etc., all over the place. Not one descent green on the course. Greens were like putting on macadam. I will never golf here again!
Hi "u4835558" We appreciate your honest review. Due to the recent storms we are still in the process of cleaning up the course. As for the greens the course is still transitioning into its spring peak golf season. A few more weeks the the greens will be back in proper shape. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again.
storm damage
They are suffering the effects of the recent ice storm and only had the back nine open for play. I recommend waiting a few weeks to book a outing. Me, I actually enjoyed the solitude and the chance to work on my so called game. Truth be told I'd be a tad mad if I didn't get the hot deal from golf now and had to pay the regular rate.
Hi "Brothermike" We appreciate your honest review. Due to the recent blizzard that hit the northeast coast nine of our holes had to be closed for a short period of time. We now have all 18 holes open and are back in full gear. We appreciate your patience and hope to see you back out on the course again soon
This course should not have been open. Nine holes closed. the open nine had greens in terrible condition. The only good thing was the weather.

good for the cost
i played the course by myself and was done in 2 hours and 15 minutes. the course seems to be getting in better shape. the tee boxes were moved up so the grass would grow into the existing tee boxes, so it made the course a little easier, but the course it still a little difficult at times. hopefully the greens get better but overall a tremendous value for the money i paid. i plan on playing there again and most of the time it is a steady play and not a long day.
Hi "cardo1958" Thank you for the great review. We are so glad that you enjoyed your speedy round today. We appreciate the great feedback as we are constantly trying to improve the over course facilities. Please come back and see us again soon.
Hi "cedarplace" We apologize about your recent experience at Beckett. We hope to see you again in the near future so that we can change your 2 star review into 5 stars.
Beckett Course Review
The lay out of the course is really great compared to other courses i have played around this place. However the fairways and especially greens are in real bad shape begging for somebody to fix them.

Great practice round
I don't go out that often, but in my last outing I had a good round (different course) and wanted to see if what I did that day would be replicated as I took a step forward with driver and second shot.
Rather than spend money at a practice range, I wanted to practice on a course. I was able to go out by myself for an $18 rate through GolfNow. It was a great day and much better than standing on a practice tee.
The people who work in the Pro Shop and Bar were extremely nice and accommodating. The course (especially the greens) need some work, but for just getting outside, exercise and some practice it's a great deal even at the regular price. I hope to go back a couple of times before winter. They even have a PGA Pro for lessons.
Just ok/Decent value
I only paid $11 on last minute golf. I would have been upset if I'd paid more than that. 80% of the greens were deceased with some crabgrass and they had been aeriated. Fairways were decent but had some crabgrass. Overall for $11 it's ok although I probably won't go back because I live too far away.
Poor Conditions Not Worth The Money
Second time playing Beckett and they have taken 8 holes away from their 27 so now they have 19. Yes, there is a number 19 hole and it is not a bar. I guess good in case you have a tie or something? The conditions are poor. The greens still need work, with dirt patches scattered throughout them and weeds beginning to take root. Fairways were ok, tee boxes were average to poor. If you are riding, be sure to take some Dramamine and bring a seat belt along. The paths are terrible. Tree roots have virtually uplifted and damaged all of them, even the "dirt roads" were so bumpy it was very annoying. Even tried riding down the rough areas or fairways and that wasn't much better. I've seen more calm rides on a rollercoaster. The signage directing you to the "new" hole layout was confusing at best. You cross the highway 4 times which is ridiculous. Best thing about the course was that the cart was a nice electric one with no issues. We got a hot deal and payed $14 each and even that was not worth the money. I'd rather spend the $14 on a large bucket of balls at a driving range. I understand course upkeep is a difficult thing, but if anything keep your greens in good shape, that's all we ask. They weren't. Avoid the trip.....
Ok, but One & Done
Course conditions were ok, but the greens could have been better. Front 9 was ok and straightforward, but too many blind tee shots on the Back 9. Lower tier course for the area, but will not return do to issue with Pro Shop. Course requires $5 deposit on the golf cart refundable at the end of the round. Did not realize I had forgot about it until the next day as I am not used to such a policy as I always return the cart to where it is supposed to be returned. Called the Pro Shop to explain what had happened, but they were unable or "unwilling" to help - not sure which one was truly applicable. That, more than anything about the course, has burned me and have no interest at all in returning to play again.
Great drives lost in fairway....comically bad....
Where do I start...
Signs should read "Don't be in cart path only" unless you want your teeth rattled out of your head.
Clean your ball by putting into cup on green (as 6 of the front 9 had them filled with water). I would've rather putted on the tee boxes instead of the greens.
Hitting drives into fairway means nothing for finding your ball. There were times I couldn't distinguish between fairway, rough, super rough, or jungle. I'm new to golf, but can hit a ball with extreme accuracy off of a tee at 230-240 yds. It was literally like hitting into an abyss....I yelled "so long ball" from the third tee on. Oddly, despite the poor course conditions, the tee boxes were in really good shape. This made it even more frustrating, as good tee shots were wasted.
Fairways???...you tell me...I didn't know where one ended, the other began, or if I was in rough or fairway. On 8, I hit a great shot intentionally to curve ball into what I thought was 8 fairway (as in front of me looked like rough). As it turned out, it was the fairway of another hole. I recovered with a gorgeous 5 iron shot back into the middle of the fairway of the hole I was playing.......what was I thinking!!! I should've known better than to hit a ball into the middle of a fairway without spotters and a film crew. Yes, I had to drop a new ball in the middle of the fairway after hitting in the middle of the fairway.....lost ball....again (said in Gump voice).
The good part was no one seemed too uptight...everyone was laughing when balls ended up in each others fairway, or a shot went errant from hitting off a section of brick hard dirt in middle of fairway. At one point a ball flew over a bunch of guys on a green and proceeded to ricochet off a tree (rather loud). The guys on the green were laughing so hard they couldn't put.
I would've been upset if I was charged $15...let alone $27 for 9 holes...never again.
It looked to me like a place preparing for a sale to a developer, rather than a place encouraging growth of the sport. This is the course they should've blown up at the end of Caddy Shack.
BTW, the cart was fantastic.
Fair front nine/nice back nine
This was the first time we had ever played Beckett golf course. Beckett used to be a 27 hole course but is now a 18 hole course. Beckett is about a 50 min. ride from our area so we have not given Beckett much attention due to the long distance. The reason we decided to play Beckett is solely because of the 18 hole with cart "Hot Deal" offered up by Golf Now for ten dollars per person.
The front nine fairways were in fair condition. Many of the greens are not uniformly and densely filled with grass such that putting can be a bit challenging. The rough was a bit tall. There was a good amount of hard pan surfaces on or along all of the fairways.
The back nine fairways were in much better condition. All of greens were in nice shape. The rough was trim. There was very little hard pan surface areas to deal with.
The course is longer than most public courses which is a good thing.
The paved cart paths need repair as many sections of the paved paths are very bumpy due to tree roots, depressions, wear, other.
The staff was very friendly.
Pace of play was excellent because there weren't many people on the course in the early afternoon.
Overall, I doubt we will drive the long distance again to play Beckett unless we come across another very low cost "Hot Deal" offer.
Disappointing
Im 5 handicap and couldn't find 5 of my drives which I KNOW landed in the fairway. The hills on the drives block the view and other players from different holes were scattered all over. I know other people picked up my ball. 2 ft standing water in a couple of traps. The cart paths are horrendous. The fairways, rough, are suitable for high school beginners. Will never play this course again.
5/20/16
Nice day, arrived and started a little early, staff was great, hole layout and signage a little confusing, fairways in nice condition, greens rolled true but a few looked a little bare, electric cart was just fine.
I would play it again...
Work in progress
I have not played here for a few years but was pleasantly surprised by Beckett. There were definitely improvements made to the course. The new pro, Sean Driscoll seems to be a good addition as well as the new driving range. I look forward to seeing continued improvements.
Needs help
No starter to pace play at first hole or control groups from jumping on 10th tee. Pace of play was horrendous. Overgrown rough cuts and torn up greens. Pro/owner seemed to be a nice enough.
Bottom line- extremely understaffed in all aspects, wouldn't pay more than $20 to ride that course again
