Is anybody home
This is a first. I have never written a review for a course I never played, but people should know what happened. My group went to the course website and booked the first tee time, 8:00, on a Sunday morning in December a week in advance. It was part of our myrtle beach buddies trip and the plan was to get in 36 holes that day.
We arrived at 7:30 and the gate to the parking lot was closed and there was a sign in the parking lot Course Closed Do Not Enter. We waited until 8:10 and there were still no signs of life and we had to leave and come up with a new plan.
The course looked nice but I can't see us taking another chance on this course for a buddies trip again.
Worth the drive
After reading such good reviews of Vinyard Golf I made the 40 minute drive from Fayetteville to check it out. Boy was it worth the drive. The value is outstanding for 29.00 during the week with cart. The conditions were excellent considering the recent hurricane and all the wet weather just before that. Five tee boxes to choose from so it has something to fit your game. The tees were all level and well taken care of. The fairways were mowed and rolled out nicely. The greens were solid all the way around. Not too stiff and not mushy at all. They rolled true and with good pace. There are forced carries over water either on par 3's or on approach shots or off the tee. It is a great mix in my opinion. Course is pretty flat but with the use of bunkers, trees and dog legs they make the course interesting. The staff was great. Friendly from start to finish. I would recommend this course and will make the drive again and again I'm sure.
New name, new course
I have played this course several times in the past few years since my family has been going to White Lake for roughly the past 14 years in a row. This course was closed and renovated a couple of years ago and is now in almost perfect shape. I was very impressed with the new ownership and the way the course is currently maintained. I played this course 2 days in a row this year since it was so good. I typically play low 70's golf and have been known to hit 60's so I play a fair amount. If you are going to be in the White Lake area, save the 1 hour + drive to play golf at the beach and play Vineyard Golf.
Sweet as they come
Golf course was in Perfect shape. The fairways were green and well trimmed... Greens were super sweet. Had a couple of rough spots but did not interfere with the ball path at all due to the placements of the flags sticks . This course is beautiful. Go Play!!
Wish it was closer
This course is in the middle of no where but worth the drive. I drove about an hour from Wilmington based on the price and the reviews that I read.
I played on a weekday afternoon so it wasn't crowded and a foursome of locals and a threesome waved me to play thru.
Tee boxes were level and only a few were a little weedy but in good shape. Most fairways were also in good shape and the greens were pretty good, some were dressed.
A nice combination of holes and really enjoyed the final 5 holes which offered good scoring opportunities if you can place your tee shot.
Looks like a lot of water on the course, but it only comes into play on a few holes, and two of them are par 3's so it really shouldn't affect scoring on those holes.
Overall it was an excellent value and I will probably return every once in a while.
FUN!!!
Entertaining tree lined golf course in the middle of nowhere. Worth playing if you're on your way to Myrtle Beach or Wilmington, nice warm up round. Layout keeps your attention, course conditions were good and staff was very pleasant. Will play again next time I head to Myrtle Beach.
Good round of golf on a good day!
Course was in very good shape for early spring. Very time to play but will go back.
Nice
Enjoyed the course. Fair amount of water hazards. If you slice bring some extra balls! I will definitely play again even tho it's almost an hour away
Nice course.
Played this course with my wife. It was in good condition and the pace of play was nice. Will be even better when the fairways green up. Very friendly and helpful staff.
This course is back
Well done I am glad it reopened and the new greens are good maybe a tad slow the day we played but worth the price
Great Value
Very good course. Great condition. Staff very freindly!
great greens
First time playing here and the course was great. Nice big greens, good sand in bunkers, will be back
Great value. Great course
First time playing this course since new ownership and it lived up to all expectations. Well maintained course set in very nice scenery.
Greens were very good
Greens rolled true but we're hard. Fairways were thin. Course will be great in a month
Vineyard Golf
Course is back in great shape! Greens putting very smooth!
The course is in good condition...
The course has a nice layout, some holes allow you to be aggressive while a few make you play safe. The greens are a little slow but they roll true. The fairways are growing in nicely. Played behind a five-some for a few holes before they let my two-some play through. Perfect day for a morning round of golf at a good course...
Vineyard Golf at White Lake was a plus.
