Gary Player at Geneva National Golf Club
About
Geneva National Golf Club boasts three championship courses, each with a notable designer: Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, and Lee Trevino. All three courses sit along the shores of Lake Como and were carved from lush, rolling countryside. The Gary Player Course, along with the Palmer Course, provides the greatest challenges and also some of the best scenery. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes in the form of wandering streams and large lakes. One of the most memorable holes with water is the par-3 16th. There is a lake that wraps almost entirely around the green, giving it the feel and difficulty of an island green. In addition to the water, golfers will also have numerous strategically placed bunkers to contend with. The club is popular with locals but also with visitors since it is only a short drive from metropolitan Chicago and Milwaukee.

Great Birthday Celebration
Took my husband to play Geneva National for his Birthday. Course was in great shape, especially for the early season. Greens rolled very well, beverage cart service was great. Played 9-holes on The Dance floor afterwards which was very cool, it a 18 hole putting course, very cool and is included in the price of a round. It was all a great day!!
March Golf Can't Get Any Better
Played the Player Course at Geneva National last week and it was in great shape for March, greens rolling well, and fairways mowed up nicely.
Cold playing
Course was in great shape considering the time of year. Impressive!
GN has great courses
It's always a treat to come here and play a round on any of their 3 courses. They're always well maintained although this time they had been aerated recently so a little more challenging.
Disappointed
68 degrees and the range was closed for the year, no halfway house no cart person and the greens were sloppily aerated which took a lot of the fun out of the round.
If you’re going to stay open for golf leave the amenities open as well. Especially the driving range!
Great experience.
The course is in great condition, especially the greens. They are fast and true. Probably the best I have ever played. The holes overlooking the lake are spectacular. The staff is responsive and professional. The restaurant is great. Overall, a great experience. I would highly recommend making a tee time!
Beautiful Course but Horrible Experience!
Writing this while on the course. Sitting on the 10th tee after 3 hours. It’s probably going to be a 6 hour round. Course is incredible and beautiful…but for the price…I don’t expect a round to take 6 hours. There is a large convention group in front with many non or inexperienced golfers. Waiting 5-10 minutes on every tee box. This is ridiculous and makes it a horrible experience. Can’t recommend and won’t be back!
Wait to play here
Giving everyone a heads up, the course recently aerated the greens and they are super hard and don’t hold with the over seeding.
Completely understand that this needs to be done but this wasn’t mentioned on the application when making the reservation!
So I would call first
Other than the group ahead of us that had no regard for pace took 4:40 to play 18 the facility never disappoints.
Amazing from start to finish. Already booked my next round
Played this course many times, love it. Only negative comment is that it has really up its price in the last couple of years.
GN Player Course review
Pace of play was terrible. Never saw a ranger or assistant on the course to help speed up slow groups. Prices are steep compared to other courses in the area.
