Jeezo

Played the PGA national today it’s like playing in a cow field. The greens were the only up side. I understand that there’s been loads of rain but the fairways were shocking. The hotel, range, workers and the people in the place are fantastic but that course need attention.

One of the major venues ticked off

Got a great offer and could not resist! Played in morning starting before frost had cleared. Course very challenging and only finished with 3 balls left. Loved the experience

Unreal condition for January

Course was in great condition for this time of year, greens were pure and fast, Greenkeeping staff doing a great job, bunkers were well kept, tee boxes in great condition

Given the time of year and the weather we’ve had recently don’t have a thing to complain about, would definitely recommend & will be heading back soon to try the Brabazon

Disappointed

As a golfer, we can all be guilty of slating courses when don't play well. This isn’t one of those times. We all played to a decent standard despite my review.

The course was far too boggy and should really have been deemed as unplayable and closed for play. Even at a reduced winter rate it was no where near worth the value of what we paid.

Playing winter golf, you appreciate that you have to look differently at a few things, but I felt that it was basically open just to take your money and the local club courses would have closed to protect the course.

The Belfry can not be classed as an average club so I appreciate that it has to carry itself higher. But when you’re losing balls in areas you shouldn’t due to very boggy ground conditions that’s just not right. The course was full of standing water and just boggy on every hole. 16, 17 and 18 in particular were a disgrace really in terms of being classed as open.

I was told before playing that the course will never close no matter what condition it’s in and there was never a truer statement.

Best course at the belfry

Played it multiple times . Greens were bumpy and in need of some work , but possibly due to the amount of rain last week they couldn’t do get them up to the normal condition.

It’s a great test . The rough on the 6-13 (across the road) is brutal .

Belfry National course

Great day out, Belfry very friendly and a course in really good condition. The National has 70 bunkers and I found quite a few but still had a good round. Recommend to all golfers. Go and have a go!

Total Disappointment Not Worth The Money

Huge amounts of standing water on every hole. Landing areas on fairways in such bad condition that balls were lost through plugging, or simply submerged under water. Bunkers were unplayable.

Overall an unplayable course which the club refused to deem such or declare a bad weather day even after a torrential downpour to add to the already flooded course. All about the money, and it wasn’t worth £90 by any stretch of the imagination!

Very disappointing experience! Play Burhill instead!!!!

PGA

Pretty average course one that you won’t remember in a months time .
Greens were good however the rest of the course was scruffy !
Big tip , take your own drinks as the half way house has London Club prices for drinks ..
Overall glad we only paid less than 40 pounds as it’s not worth much more ..
Such a shame ..

PGA

Not the best time to play due to weather conditions as the fairways and rough held a lot of water but will try again in the summer.

Great Course

Inland Links style golf course, great mix of water hazards and bunkers. Fast undulating greens that were like playing on glass now, can't wait to return in the summer and see how they are then.

Great value for money!

Had a great day playing the PGA national course, amazing value for money the greens were unbelievably quick for saying its meant to be the winter!

It is a long course so be prepared for a 5 hour round but the staff made us aware of this beforehand. Only negative would be the price of food and drink etc in the bars, i know its a big named venue but it just seems over the top for everything
