The staff was fantastic. The food was good. I played behind a group and still finished in under 4 hours easily. The course was in great shape and would have received 5 stars except for the work still being done.

First time in Corpus Christie, played here on the senior rate. Very nice old course in great shape. The grass was, I thought, very good for this time of year. Greens were slower but true. Maintenance was on going to fix up the spots that didn't survive Harvey (?). We walked in under 4 hours on a cooler overcast day.

Played for the first time and enjoyed the round. The course is as previously stated in very good condition. My only comment or complaint is why I used the same club on 4 of the 5 par 3s. I unfortunately found the bunkers to be in great shape, lol. The staff treated like old friends. The patio was a great place for a drink after the round. We will be back often while we're staying in the San Antonio area.

The course underwent some changes due to the fencing at the border and a fallen bridge. Navigating from hole to hole was a little confusing due to the bridge and a tournament the next day. The tees were a bit shaggy, fairways a bit on the rough side and greens patchy in places. Not a terrible deal for the price, but a cart is useful and extra.

The only course for miles and they are very proud, justifiably. I really enjoyed the layout and the scenery. The course is in fantastic shape, tees, greens, and fairways. I wouldn't even want to try to walk this course due to the elevation changes and distances. The staff was excellent in every way possible. The course has no snack bar or restaurant, only drinks and power/candy bars. The resort has a restaurant and bar that are close and good for after the round. The price is steep, even steeper if you're not a guest.

There was a frost delay ( temp was 50ish) till 9. Left alone, played over an hour ahead of schedule. First impression was they didn't use any gas in the chainsaws, lots of trees to hit, and i did. The fairways were nice but the greens were great. Sand bunkers were good too. Only one employee in the club house and he was friendly and professional. No alcohol was available and the restaurant was closed for the season. Too bad on both accounts.

I used my birthday coupon to play here while visiting the area. The course layout was very good, both challenging and fair. The hazards were in good shape, unfortunately I found. Although the weather was colder and the course wet from recent rains, the course played relatively dry.
On the down side, there was no notice the greens were recently aerated and they played that way. I would not expect a lot of breaking greens after they recover.
The yardage book proved to be helpful for my first time playing.

I've been playing this course almost weekly this summer. The course remains in very good condition. The fairways are green, the greens roll mostly true. A couple greens are patchy. This course has lots to offer.

The course was in great condition though management is fighting a water issue. I especially like the par 3s not being the same length. You can cut the corner on 11.

Weather was perfect, fellow golfers were the best.. The staff was great! The course has lots of variety. A different club for every par 3, open landing with options for challenges. Unfortunately the greens were rolling 8 or less due to the heat(?) and winter grass. The greens were fair, true, just slower than most of us like.

This course advertises as a jewel in the desert. A very interesting course through canyon after canyon. Most balls will bounce down the sides but occasionally a ball with stay out. Pace of play surely ranks with the worst in the nation. Five and a half hours for 15 holes, and didn't finish as it was too dark to wait for the groups ahead of us. We only saw the marshal when it was time to turn in our carts. The beverage cart quit at 1pm. I'd like to play the entire course however, I will have to look for a better price or pace guarantee.

50 minutes late starting. Even though the course was full and off to a late start, 4 hours almost exactly. The layout was good, fairways nice and greens in good shape considering people were NOT fixing their ball marks. On my list of courses to play again. Check their site for good deals.

Good course but again I used the same club on 3 of the 4 par 3s. Starter gave us a great tip for aiming. Some of the greens have a lot more break than others. Agree, a little more sand in the traps would be nice.

Played the day after many days of hard rain and was really soggy on the first time around. The second time around was a lot dryer. The greens were excellent, receptive and true rolling. No par 5s but the par 3s are no slouches. The staff couldn't be any friendlier or helpful. I'll come back again just for them.

This course makes me think how golf would be 100 years ago. The greens are rough, fairways are course. Pace of play and excellent cost make this a gem for beginners. At par 31, the par 3's are no gimmies.

I try to write positive reviews however, this won't be one. The rates recently went up but the course was still under water almost everywhere I walked. I will not be back until the weather has had at least a week to let the water off the fairway. For the price they should have washed the mud off my pants and even shirt. At least the greens were nice, for the wet weather we've been having. Also there has been a lot of money spent to keep the course in respectable condition. New signs last year, re-vamping #12 to something else, and the ponds are full and neatly trimmed.

What can you say about golf in December. It was a great day to experience this course. Very few others on the course. 90 rule for carts. Greens were wonderful. Don't know about the bunkers. Although there are ample bunkers on the course I managed to miss them. Almost no standing water on the fairways. It's no walk in the park but is very manageable for the thinking golfer.

Too bad you can't bring your own beverage to the course. My first 3 choices were sold out before noon.

My wife and I played this course again, in 4 hours. The afternoon Hot Time was excellent compared to the normal rate. After all the drought the course is coming around nicely, grass filling in and ponds filling up. Remember, this is one of the toughest rated courses in the state and smart golf is a must. The greens were in fantastic shape, they held, rolled true, and were a great speed for day to day golf.

Pace and price was wonderful. Never did see a beverage cart. The "sand" bunkers should all be replaced with grass bunkers. There wasn't any sand anywhere on the course that I found. Every green should come with a goose dropping rake or rule. Scraping the goose droppings off a ball isn't funny the 9th or 10th time. I'll play again if I'm ever in the area.

I've the golf now mobile app which allows views of the entire hole. A map really helped plan shots, ( not that I made my shot ). A lot of hazards but easily avoidable. The app made my round enjoyable and score.
