Overall course was in ok shape for the amount of play. The rough has been cut but the clippings needed another mowing as it looks messy. Some tee blocks were not maintained as well.

For June 22nd the course was VERY DRY. All areas of the course were dry and crunchy. The track is great but the way it played it is in real trouble moving into the summertime.

First time playing the course. Played on May 3rd in the afternoon. Played the tips. First of all the course is in great condition. Fantastic greens. Many sand traps guarding most every green but a manageable track. The greens are very undulated and the pins were tucked so they played very, very tough. Overall a great track in great shape. Price is VERY reasonable for the nice course.

first time on this course. I am a 2 handicap from the pacific northwest. Understandably these greens were fast for me for this time of year but they were receptive, which was nice. Overall the track was decent from the tips. The sand was a bit hard packed so they were not the normal play. Got a discounted rate so I was worth the hour drive.

I have played Darkhorse for the last few years. This is the first time this year for me. The overall condition was just under it's normal play but the bunkers were hard packed and were not cleaned out of weeds and needed edging. For a course with this design and normal quality the bunkers should have more sand and be clean............

When I come into town at any time of year I try to get a round of golf at Ventana canyon. I have only played the mountain course but can say that the three times that I have played it, even in the late summer the course condition was perfect, Very lush and it played very fair, The views are world class. Don't pass up any chance you have to play this course.
