It has been a really wet spring. Yet they have kept the fairways groomed and the greens are simply excellent. I have recently played in so called high end courses and the greens have ball marks unrepaired from last season. Not here.

I was a single and everyone waved me through. Some rough is still long and you will lose your ball. However, we will have dry weather for the next few days and in a day or two the rough will be playable.

This is a great layout but the greens are chewed up and the fairways are torn up. It has been a wet spring but the grass is growing well so this tells me they are not putting any money into it. I played Lost Nations, a muni course and it was like a private course. I will give this one more chance because of the layout but it was frustrating after a 1 hour plus drive.

We have played here twice before and each time we were impressed with the course conditions. This time we were astounded to see the greens literally pockmarked with old unrepaired ball marks -- possibly from last year. The bunkers were always poor here but the layout compensated for it. However, the greens are simply unacceptable. We are not coming back here.

The grass was dormant but still very playable. Greens were smooth and fast. Would like to come back and play again during the season.

I have played this course several times over the years and it has retained its high standards. The other golfers were courteous and let me through as a I was a single. The staff was knowledgeable and gave me precise instructions. The fairways are not quite as pristine as some other Troon managed courses but very playable.

I was playing with two locals who live on the course. I did not see any signs about how far can you take the cart near the green. I was about 50 yards from the green and chipping up when a marshal tells me I need to exit thru two green stakes behind me. NO ONE MENTIONED THIS TO ME BEFORE THE ROUND. THIS IS UNPROFESSIONAL.

FURTHER THE STAKES ARE N O T THERE ON ALL THE HOLES. TRAIN YOUR MARSHALS TO BE WORTHY OF A TROON COURSE.

FINALLY ON THE 18TH HOLES THERE WERE SIGNS FOR CARTS TO EXIT THE FAIRWAY. THE MARSHAL SAID THEY DID NOT USE THESE SIGNS. MAYBE HE WAS HAVING A BAD DAY.

My playing parthers said they were never told this by the marshals.

very nice layout. you need to keep it straight. The grass is a little thin on both the fairways and greens. Greens rolled true though.

there was a tournament going on in front of us. We finished the front nine quite late. But when we came to the back nine it was impossible and we are waiting for nearly half an hour. After which we were asked to go back and play the front 9 again.

This is one of our favorite course, Conditions are always top notch except the bunkers. These are dirt pits. You have to chip out of these. Fortunately these are not deep.

I heard very good things about this course but found it basically wide open. There are some challenge in the greens but that is all. The pace of play was an issue mainly because of one group who took 20 shots for each hole. I did not rush them thinking they were elderly which turned out not to be the case. We need a ranger for a Brit owned course. This will not be allowed in the UK. There are two excellent courses nearby. Harmony and North Shore.

I am not sure if I should compare this to some of the TPC courses in Florida or even the LPGA course near Daytona. However, since the price is in the same ballpark I was quite disappointed with the course conditions. Even the International course at Champions Gate is better. Plus the lack of GPS was surprising. I would not play this again. The other Nicklaus design near Fort Myers - Old corkscrew- is much better.

I have played this course four or five times. The last two times including my most recent round was disappointing mainly because of the course conditions. This is an excellent layout which is being neglected. If you do not mind a course that is around 6300 yards (which is what the quarry is from the blue tees) then I recommend you check out ridge top in Medina. The other course that I recommend which is longer from the tips is deer ridge in Belleville Ohio. Both of these courses have private club like conditions and are much more reasonable. I hope they can bring the quarry back to its old levels.

We drove 1.5 hours based on the reviews. There were a lot of weeds on the fairways and some brown spots - early in the season. We will not return.

I have played here a lot this year and the conditions are on par with high end private clubs - I mean Firestone. I recently played Stonewater as a member for a day and the fairways were ragged. Not here. Greens are smooth but not super fast. You need to know where to land your shots in some holes. Always a pleasure to play here.

This is one of the better courses around. However, the wear and tear of the season is showing. What irked me most is there was no effort at moving people along. We had a foursome playing from the senior tees in front of us and we had to wait 10 minutes on every tee. It was a five and half hour round.

I think I played the Hills course but did not see a sign anywhere. In any case the other reviews are spot on about the excellent conditions as well as the greens. I played from the whites (6245) and did not find the course to be particularly challenging given its wide open fairways (I was told the Hills course is tighter than the Jones). But the holes I did play were enjoyable. I quit after the 11th hole as I was waiting nearly 20 minutes on each hole even after two groups let me thru. I did find a ranger but he just smiled when I pointed out the pace of play.

The greens were ok. The fairways needed a lot of work. There are numerous creeks crisscrossing the course that are unmarked. We paid $13 for the round which is ok but there are other courses in this area that are much better.
