Kayak Point Golf Course
Played On 08/08/2017Could be great
This is a fun course to play, with lots of elevation changes, allowing for huge drives, particularly on the dried out fairways. I understand this course used to be highly rated, but now it is not well maintained. Fairways are dried out (it's been a hot summer), and it's a bone-jarring ride driving your cart on them, with all of the bumps and dips. It was a very quick round, with few people on the course, and in spite of the poor conditioning, I would certainly play here again.
Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 08/07/2017Great condition in the heat.
This course was in great shape considering the hot weather recently. Really enjoyed the round, although #14 was a bit confusing.
Rose City Golf Course
Played On 08/06/2017Where's the starter?
Things were a mess at the first tee, with no starter anywhere. There were 5 singles waiting around, as well as our two-some, all with the same tee time. First half was quite slow, with a large gap in front of the group two in front of us. No marshal anywhere to move things along. Second half was fast, as the slow group stopped after 9.
Greenacres Golf Course
Played On 01/10/2016Should only play in summer
We've played this course numerous times as it is close to home, and good deals can be found on GolfNow. This is a very basic flat course that is not too challenging, but should not even be open in winter or early spring. The problem is that this course has very poor drainage. We've played in April when the course is like quicksand, and I won't ever do that again. This time we played on a cold (4 degrees) winter day. I thought it would be okay as it was bright and sunny, and we had not had much rain for the last couple of weeks. But the course was still mostly frozen solid, with some areas of soft surface that had all turned to mud. This course has absolutely horrible conditioning and should not even be open this time of year. And it's not just due to the weather, as our normal course, just a mile down the street, is in infinitely better condition, even at this time of year.
Las Sendas Golf Club
Played On 12/24/2014Excellent Desert Course
Thoroughly enjoyed our round at Las Sendas. Busy day, but pace was fine. Great value for a fun course. Worth the drive from Scottsdale.
Palmbrook Golf Club
Played On 12/15/2014So so course
had a very slow group in front of us. No course marshals to be found. The course was not memorable at all, except for the greens, which were large, very fast, and challenging. The price was right, but that was the best part. Too many nice courses to choose from to go back to this one any time soon.
Durango Hills Golf Course
Played On 9/5/2013Due for overseeding
The course was dried out when we played, and I understand it was due to be closed for overseeding the next week. The round was very quick, and the price we got was great, but it was a too simple course I think, with little variation or challenge. For same price I thought Eagle Crest in Summerlin was much nicer.
Golf Summerlin - Eagle Crest Course
Played On 9/2/2013Great Executive course
We usually play an executive course back home, so it was nice to play one in Vegas, particularly where we could pull out the big stick on quite a few holes. This course was in great shape the afternoon we played, with carts included it was a quick, (very) cheap round, and there is enough variation to the holes to keep it interesting. We also played Durango Hills on this trip (another executive course), and Eagle Crest was much, much better.
Revere Golf Club - Lexington Course
Played On 8/31/2013Fabulous Desert course
We got a great summer rate, and while the weather was hot and humid (for Vegas), we really enjoyed the design of this course. Everything was lush and green, and if you went off the fairways, you could usually find your ball.
Bonaventure Golf Club
Played On 4/19/2013Worst course I've ever played!
I'd read some reviews that seemed decent, and I was able to get a good rate, so we booked. I should have read closer, as all the good reviews were for the East course, while every review for the West course was bad. I have never played a course that was so poorly maintained, from the tee boxes to the fairways (if you could call them that) to the greens. We are not great golfers by any means, and my "standards" for a golf course are not high, but this course failed to meet my low expectations. I wish I'd paid the difference and played the East course, particularly after having paid them $45 for rental clubs.
