Toughest Greens Around
The course has a nice, somewhat challenging layout. The greens are smooth and fast and if you don't pick your line right your on the fast track to a 3-4 putt! While they're still working on the clubhouse, it has a somewhat cheap, manufactured home feel and the smells lingering from the carpet and plaster make it pretty unpleasant. I'm sure it will improve in time.
Beautiful course well maintained
The course is beautiful but beware the greens are fast and the rough is rough!!!
Well run and nice everything from the carts to the clubhouse. Highly recommend - great job Town of Mooresville!!!!
Great course watch construction
Outstanding greens, great practice facility. The course is still maturing but fun time. Would recommend marking all tall grass areas as hazards to speed play. Find balls there is almost impossible.
Even though this should be temporary, Be careful around construction activities around the club house. Little is being done to designate hazardous areas as evidenced by my fall on concrete in the patio area.
Otherwise a great improvement over the the old course.
Course needs more Water Bottles on it!!!
Tee boxes were perfectly flat and in great shape. Fairways were in good shape overall except for some bare spots on a few holes. Greens were in good shape and fast as lightning. Since the redesign on the front I noticed my GPS yardage was off on the front. I am not sure how the club would notify someone about this to correct it with all the GPS devices, but that correction needs to be sent in to fix it. My biggest complaint about the course is there were not enough water bottles on the course. The only one I saw was on hole 7. That is clearly inadequate for a hot summer day especially if someone is walking. Now they do have a beer girl riding around charging $2 for a bottle of water but to me that is a way to nickle and dime people to death. Put a water bottle out there about every three holes like most courses do. The beer lady will still sell plenty of beer.
Best public course in the greater Charlotte area
This was my first round at Mooresville GC since its renovation. What a terrific job they have done. The condition of the greens was excellent. All of the greens have bee completely rebuilt with champion burmuda ( or another hybrid). The fairways and rough areas were in great condition. Pace of play was around 4 hours.
Great value for the money. I'll definitely return.
Good course. Fun layout
Course was in good shape and was a fun layout. Required good shots but wasn't to hard. They are redoing the clubhouse so amenities are lacking for now.
Great Course nice renovation
Neverws played the course before but it was very well done and challenging. Once greens get more seasoned they will be even better. Very much enjoyed the round.
Great course for a good value
They just re did this course and it is in great shape. The greens are fast and tough and the fairways and rough are cut appropriately. Played in 3.5 hrs with one other person. Would reccomend to anyone, especially if you catch it with a hot deal!
Font 9 Layout
The front nine of the course had the major redesign and it is incredible. the native grass really adds a nice touch to this public course. The greens were a good speed. My only complaint is that the greens are hard as a rock, but that may be due to them being so new. The only thing i would recommend to players is to play to the front of the green and let the ball release because it is hard to get spin on the hard greens.
great course - needs wokr
Course is really a great layout. but it has been rode hard and put up wet,. the fairway have been stressed by the carts and the greens need aerating and top dressed. The fairways are losing grass from the carts, the entire course, fairways and greens need to be punched, fertilized, and properly conditioned., Management needs to police the play - fill in pivots, and fix ball marks, also to control player use of carts on the course.
Great course but greens were hard
I really like the renovations at this course but the greens were really hard even after 3 days of rain. Wedges were releasing 40-50 ft due to the green hardness.
Nice Redo
I played here regularly years ago and the new rebuild is terrific. Course is not overly hard - greens are fast and will get faster, with lots of slope mainly back to front. Keep below the hole and you're OK. They still have the looong 400+ par 4 17 following the shorrrt 300+ par 4 16, finishing on a 530+ par 5 18 with a horribly sloping fairway, but it's still fun. They call it links - I call it no trees :-)
good but...
good course but fairways need work!
The clubhouse once built will be awesome.
Redesigned Mooresville Golf Club
Had a chance to play the newly redesigned Mooresville Golf Club today. The previous iteration of the course was a true 'muni,' albeit one with a Donald Ross designed front 9. The club is in the process of building a beautiful new clubhouse to go with the redesigned layout. There is also a nice new range and short game practice area as well. Just about every hole was touched at some point, with some holes changing slightly, while others are completely new. The front nine plays very much like a links style course. There aren't many trees, but quite a few areas of long grass and hazards. The back nine plays more through wooded areas and some houses. There are fairway bunkers on most holes and there is generally room to run your ball up on the green. More on this in a moment. The holes on the front side generally offered more room off the tee than those on the back. The first hole is a relatively flat, straight par 5 with a large, flat green. It eases you into the round, but is not indicative of the rest of the course. There is a decent amount of elevation change on most holes, be it up or down from the tee. Most of the other 17 also greens have severe slopes on them. Leaving yourself above the hole on any of the greens is a dicey proposition. Greenside bunkers vary from tiny and flat to deep and sprawling. As for course conditions, they were mostly good. There are a few fairways that are a little thin and bare. Teeboxes were some of the best I've seen this spring. The sand in all of the bunkers was very good. The greens were some of the fastest I've ever seen at a public course. Also, they were concrete hard. I can't count how many times our foursome landed a shot on the green only to see it bounce hard a couple of times and then bound over the back. Well struck shots weren't rewarded in that respect. I would have guessed that 8 months after reopening, the greens would be more receptive. Still, all in all the course is far better than it used to be. WIth the completion of the new clubhouse, plus some good growing weather, the club will be one of the best public courses in the region.

Staff & Golf
The staff was a great as the course. The wife and I will be back.
Still needs work
Very nice layout with superfast greens with lots of undulations. Lots of construction still going on so have to avoid the workers. The fairways need more grass ad the greens are sparse as well. Will ly again as long as the senor rates stay the same.
Great course
This course is great. Very well laied out and fun to play
Wonderful Day
This is a very good layout that will test any level of golfer. My only criticism is the firmness of many greens and their lack of receptivity on approach shots.
fairways
Fairways are still very tight lies. Hope grass comes in soon. I like a little grass under my ball. Also, there are places off the fairways that the round is6 to 8 inches tall. You can't find a ball in there.
Nice Open Course with Great Greens
Read the reviews, got a deal, and played. As the other reviewers have noted, the amenities are still under construction, and judging by the shop talk, well behind schedule. Pleasantly surprised at the layout, all the courses I had played while visiting the Charlotte area were of the hilly, hazard ridden, shot management style. Nice to able to see the pin out there and try to bomb it without too much fear of a hazard. This course suited my game better as the front nine is open, the back nine more narrow, with houses, power lines, and trees. So you get 2 different course types, nice!
The greens were in the best shape out of the 5 courses I've played in the Charlotte area, even better than Westport GC. Very fast, but true. I got lucky and played through some groups so it was wide open, but behind me it was backed up. I could see this course being very popular. I will return.
