Upper Lansdowne Golf Links
About
Upper Lansdowne Golf Course originally opened as a nine-hole course in 1961, designed by local course architect Jack Kidwell. More than 30 years later, Kidwell revisited the course with Michael Hurzdan and added another nine holes. It was one of his last projects before retirement. Despite being designed at different times, Upper Lansdowne's nines seamlessly blend modern and traditional features to create a diverse course that appeals to a range of skill levels and abilities. The layout features narrow fairways lined with mature trees that are balanced with large, easy-to-read greens. Water hazards come into play on half of the holes. The golf course's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which plays downhill to a peninsula green, offering little room for forgiveness. If you don't hit the green on this hole, you'll most likely be in the water.

Staff not happy with Golf now participants.
They staff was clearly not happy I book my tee time on Golf now. After I approached the staff and told them I had an 1200 tee time they went to their computer and said oh your golf now.com. Gave me a receipt and turn away. After the round we overhead the staff telling someone on the phone they could not wait for the golfnow.com contract to be over. Now we only heard a little of the conversation we did not hear the whole thin so this could of been taken out of context
Really good course for not much $
Nice course for the money, good layout and some really fast and tough greens.
Don't Waste Your Time or Money
Unfortunately, the reviews I've read about this golf course were extremely misleading. This golf course was in ROUGH shape when I played it - dandelions and weeds growing throughout the fairway, sand traps not maintained, cart paths made of dirt and broken concrete, etc. Easily one of the worst courses I've played in central Ohio.
It's unfortunate this course had given way to these conditions because it could be a nice course if it was given the proper attention.
I beg to differ with this outrageous review of this course. Cart paths could definitely use some attention but the fairways and greens and bunkers have been in more than exceptional shape all year. By far One of the BEST public course I have played in Central Ohio over the last few years.
Great time
Always in great condition and the staff is amazing.
Friendly Staff
We were greeted courteously, given the cart keys and a few instructions. Only a few die-hard locals in front of us. Weather was cold, blustery wind and intermittent rain throughout the round. I'm not much of a wet weather/mudder player. That's what happens when you buy tee times in advance and the weather forecast is not even close to being correct. Cart paths need serious attention and the routing can be confusing to a first time player. Will be back again next year as they are very welcoming!
You have to try this course
This course was close to home so i figured id try on a golf now deal. My time was for 12:14, but i showed up early and they were totally fine with me heading out early! Carts are gas, but surprisingly not that loud. Ranger came up behind me and i barely heard him. He was kind enought o share some PRO V's that he found! Starts off with some straight shooting fairways that are nice and open. I love the views you get with some of the tee boxes. Like 7 is tricky, cause you shoot from an elevated tee box thats narrowed with woods with it opening up to a gorgeous fairway with undulation. Few hazards that could trick you up along way. All the par 3's are very pretty and add to the value of the round.
Bottom line, this course is a must try. Could become a new favorite! The prices for the fall rates are unbeatable. AND they are not goign to aerate greens, so there's that!
Take a look at membership rates. Extremely affordable, such as driving range for $150 all year! Something like $350 for a year during weekdays all you have to pay is cart fees.
Great fall round
Other than the wind the weather was as good as the course . Fairways was easy to hit out of and hole 16 is as great as it is difficult. . If you have the time this is a great course to spend the afternoon.
Course beauty and conditions
For the time of year i.e. not much rain, the course was well manicured. Greens were excellent. Fairways were nice and green. Around greens were the best I have seen there. I will play there more, even though I live a good distance away. It is worth the drive.
Greens were great
Greens were in great shape. A lot of slopes, but true rolls. Unique elevations around the greens.
the course has well maintained holes
very well maintained fairways and greens, has some deceptive visuals on holes.
Well watered course
Golfing on one of the hottest days of the year . Course was well watered and the ball would sit nicely on the greens.
Double check the address!!
I booked this round on GolfNow, since I've never been there before I used the directions button. The address it took me to was about 10 miles away in a housing development!!!!
However once we got there, we had a blast!! It is a beautiful course with friendly staff. definitely going to play there again (especially since I know where it is now lol)
Nice Gem in the Country
This was a great round of golf. Challenging, but not too difficult. The greens were the best I've ever played and were the biggest challenge. They were smooth and rolled wonderfully. The course was peaceful and quiet. I've never played were it was so quiet. The only small negative were the cart paths. It was dusty. Other than that, a great time and would recommend this to anyone. I will definitely be back.
Nice course Great Price - Ecellent Value!
We played during some great weather. There was just enough wind to keep it interesting. We decided to play the Blue Tees (6700+) since the weather was nice. The greens were rolling nicely however they were a little firm and getting the ball to stop quickly from the blue grass fairways (longer fairway cut - hard to spin ball) was definitely challenging. Fun course to play & great food specials!
Wide open
This course is pretty wide open.
There are a few tight shots, such as the drive on the short 15th.
Not much in the way of parking. All grass. Would be bad on a wet day.
This is a fun course
I go back because it is a fun course! There are several elevation changes, nice big greens, and several dogleg fairways. For the golf now price its a great course. During the week you may get behind the retirees, but most will let you play through.
what a great day to play
The course was in great shape with all the rain we have had. Fairways was cut and greens fairly fast. I for one had a great day got my first hole in one on #17 used a 6 iron on the 185 yd hole. Wow what a rush I luv this game. Play this course its worth the money.
course has great potential
Love the layout. all the holes are different. #3 is a great par 3! Very enjoyable to play because it's not like all the newer course layouts. Lots of elevation changes.
Cart paths are needing work.
Tees are needing work.
For a Sunday play the fairways and greens were not mowed.
I can assure you that policy is NOT in effect. Plenty of people are out there as singles. May of the same every day of the week
