The course was great but GolfNow screwed up
We originally booked 18 but apparently GolfNow screwed up and over booked the course. Thankfully they were willing to squeeze us in for 9 before their outing started.
The course was great but I’m not sure I’d use GolfNow again.
Surprised
Haven't played here in awhile but was surprised at the condition of the course, fairways long and many dead patches. Greens were quite slow but maybe they didn't get a chance to mow since it was raining all morning. Pace of play was terrible, ranger rode by several times and said nothing to anyone.
Good Layout for All Golfers
Mallard's always a good place to go for a good time with friends of different skill levels. Course is fair and the finishing stretch of holes are great.
Absolutely horrendous golf course
First off, a normal 18 should last at least 4 hours, we were out there for 5 and a half hours because of extremely slow play. On the back 9, we were held up by an EIGHTSOME. What golf course allows this? Not worth a penny of my money, run far from this course. Not to mention, the course conditions reminded me of a cow pasture. Absolutely ridiculous I spent $55 playing this course.
Great greens
This course has a nice layout. About 6000 yds. off the senior tees. Greens were fast and held pretty well. Some of the tee boxes need some work.
Experience
Loved the way this course was set up. Will definitely be back playing here again soon
Grounds need work
Luckily I had gotten a "hot deal" tee time for 36$, and even that was too much. I hadn't played there in 3 years, but was meeting a friend and it was a midway point for us. Tee boxes are still in terrible condition, they need bulldozed and reseeded, slow play,, and greens leave a little to be desired. Ichecked the regular price and they want $ 54!!! Lots of courses in the area for cheaper and are better.
Beautiful day. Fairways were dry with bare areas. There does not seem to be any irrigation on this course.
Way too expensive
70 bucks for untamed fairways and tee boxes with no grass. Plenty of better places to play for less money.
Not bad
Course is set up well, staff was good, only complaint I have is it would be nice if they spent some time and money on their tee boxes. Dryer than the Sahara and all dirt.
Neglecting the Woods
We played the Woods portion of Mallard Creek. The white tee boxes were in rough shape holes 1 through 9, but in better shape on the back 9. The blue and forward tees were in better shape. However, most of the fairways were not grass, but hard pans. We had to move many balls to find a surface to hit off in the fairways. The greens are slower; however, most were in decent shape. The course layout is challenging and it is appropriately named the "woods" course as there are trees in most fairways. I am sure most of the $$$ is being put in the newer lakes course; as this one is not in great shape. On the positive side, the staff is courteous and helpful and they have a delicious hotdog and beer on draft.
Terrible course conditions
This course was the worse conditioned course I've played yet this year. Tees and fairways were burned out, lacking grass, and nearly as hard as the cart paths! Greens were in great condition. As much play as Mallard Creek gets, use some of the revenue collected to water the fairways and tees.
