Needs attention
When we played the course seemed to be poorly maintained. The grass was very long and it made any ball not hit in the fairway almost impossible to find and very difficult to play through.
Nice little course
Minerva is a nice little golf course tucked away in an older neighborhood. It is not very long by any definition and has very small greens, quite a few of which are elevated with nothing but trouble on all sides. The staff is very helpful. I show up by myself quite often and the people they pair me up with are always very friendly.
The biggest drawback to this course is the that the village of Minerva supports itself by preying on golfers with traffic fines. So if you go be careful and follow all traffic laws.
Placement course
i have played here several times, great customer service, play can be slow the course was very full the day we played. You have to know where to hit the ball ,not long but easy to get in trouble.
Good course, friendly staff
The course is a shorter one that was in excellent condition. If your looking for a "feel good" course to improve your game then this is the one.
We played there with only 2 players booked, and they still let us add 2 more players without any issues. We actually teed off earlier than our original tee time.
Friendy staff, always with smiles on their faces.
Priced appropriately...
Good layout, but like most courses around here, you can pretty much hit whatever about you want off the tee. No shaping required. The greens are slow this time of year. The carts could use some updating (windshield, etc), but you get what you pay for.
good course to play in the middle of the week
Like this place for its price, difficulty, and availability. It's not a hard place to play. Would almost say its like going to a driving range that u can change every shot. No active ranger drives around, but if you can't keep up with the pace of play then maybe you should rethink playing golf.
nothing spectacular, just a nice course to play
not a bad course. good value. not long, or overly difficult, which is what we wanted for first time out this year. there is trouble if you stray to far from fairway. a good way to start year. will play again.
Greens are great.
Play this course on a regular basis and you can go anywhere. Small greens demand accuracy. Different lies demands attention a really fun course.
Great place to play golf!
This course is really great! It has great hole lay-out , yet has lots of open spaces around the fairways so you still have a chance when you get in trouble. Well maintained, and simply a great outing!
nice course
I have been playing Minerva for years. No bunkers very little water. The course was in great condition on Sept 27th. Got it on the hotdeal for only $12 doesn't get better then that.
Challenging terrain and short yardage allows fun for all
I was looking for a deal so I could take my 8 year old son golfing. The short par 4's and 5 par 3 holes had me intrigued. This course has a deep valley which ranges 75 to 135 yards wide and goes through many holes. This valley can make for some interesting shots, especially if you are not careful and strategic. If you end up at the bottom, your ball is stil very playable which my son liked. He now claims this is his "Homefield Course". The only cons were the holes being close together; I wouldn't be surprised if someone could get hit by a ball on a busy day. Also, they no longer have sand traps.
An old standby for me
We play Minerva lake Golf course all the time. It a great course to play when you just wanna go wack a few balls and kill an afternoon. Inexpensive and fun. The only problem I have with Minerva is the greens are slow and if you walk, there are 2 par 3's that is elevated and the hill is pretty tough to get up for an old man like me.
