Nice well design golf course
I would return to this excellent course again and again.
Spring tune up
Had not played here in over 20 years and was pleasantly surprised on the overall condition. Weather was great for March...very few soggy spots. I believe I used every iron and my 3hybrid which was the objective for short game tune-up. Fun day.
Lake O
This little course is nice a laid back. It definitely is good for families or taking newcomers. My only negative thing to say about this course is their yardage signs on the teebox stay the same even though they move them forwards and backwards.
Super little Track for working on short game!!
WE play here as a quick 18 to either get out of working for the day or to simply work on our short game. Fun little track with friendly staff and seems to always be in good shape!
normally the course would have been good
the greens were just aerated so they were sparce and sandy. making them almost unplayable. rest of course, tees fairways were very good. was there a week before and greens were great, just not this week.
Great Par 3 course with super friendly staffs
My buddy was late to our Tee time, but Linda was super accommodating to us, try to let me wait until by buddy arrived. Thank you Linda. The rest of the staffs are very nice too. Super relaxing to play here, no one is pushing you to play the course fast even the players are back to back. Very enjoyable and sometime challenging course to play. The course is well maintained.
Good, challenging par 3. Pace of play could be improved.
Someone else mentioned the "glacial" pace of play, and unfortunately, that's true here. It's a par 3 course, so temper your expectations. Generally the clientele is either older, or definitely novice players. There are no course rangers, so once you start, you're on your own. No course slope or rating, btw.
Convenient par 3 course for me
In my neighborhood....but the pace of play was glacial this Thurs. a.m. No sand or water to speak of, and rare heavy rough, so this course is a nice walk in the park. Five hybrid, 8 iron, wedge and putter would suffice, but i bring the whole bag sans woods just because i have a push cart, although not really needed here.
Good to practice your short game
I didn't realized all holes are 3-PAR average 150-175 yards, so this make the 18 hole game went by fast. Never needed to pull out my driver. This is good for practicing your short game.
Nice golf experience
We had a very enjoyable round at this course. The only complaint is that we were "punished" for fast play. We finished the front nine about 20 minutes ahead of schedule, and found that the starter had but a couple of groups ahead of us on the back. So the back nine was considerably slower - we had to wait on almost every hole.
Tight, shortish, straightforward
Lake O is a compact course with some interesting bits here and there. The verticality is pretty interesting but lengths tend to be quite similar. Your eight iron will get a lot of milage. No bunkers. Watch out for surly teens and entitled office party foursomes. Great course for beginners. (Lake O don't accept singles on Golf Now so you'll have to call customer service and have them call the pro shop to make the booking for you. Billing can be an issue if you do this - I was charged at the course (regular green fee) and then a week later for the 'hot deals' price by Golf Now.)
Etiquette
A foursome of elderly ladies were in front of us and did not allow us to play through. We were a twosome, but the ladies did not feel they needed us to play through. We skipped a hole to get by them. The starter should have suggested we tee off before the ladies. Unless of course players from away do not have privileges of etiquette.
Perfect Your Short Game
I did not read the description as close as I should have, and realized after booking, that it was truly a Par 3 course. But let me say, I was pleased and will return. Decent length holes, with better than average greens, made this a fun, yet challenging course to play. I never needed more than a 7 iron, but dang if I did not get that dialed in, after a few holes. The course is very well maintained. The pace of play was perfect, even on a Sunday, Father's Day morning. All in all, great value and great game. I will return.
This corse is tight in some places but it was a wonderful day.And is very well kept but they were watering as we played on a Saturday afternoon...
I like it... it was my birthday, myself and 11 friends and family went out it was beautyfull and fun...
Great course, place and enjoyable golf break from a full course.
2nd time played, great shape except recent plug/sanded greens not told of prior to playing. Beautiful, nice layout with good challenges and honest telling of ones skill. Shop well laid out with good choices, comfortable ,clean and maintained. Very pleasant people and an overall enjoyable course, place and people..Thank You !!
Fun and friendly
Lots of fun, not very many people out this weekend, so pace of play was great. The greens and fairways were in good condition. The young man at the counter when we check in was super friendly and helpful
We always enjoy this course
LO Golf Course is a well run and maintained par 3 course. It is currently under construction on the 18th green but is still a good course to play. I like the varied terain and quality of the greens compared to a lot of local Portland area courses. Of the Executive courses available in Portland Metro, LO is my favorite.
Good place to work on your short game.
Nice par 3 course for beginners or low handicappers. Easy walking, few elevated greens, and very well kept fairways. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Pace of play can be slow at times for the avid golfer but never unreasonable. Small putting green and driving range is short; no drivers allowed.
