Great place to play- Photo submitted by goody39420 on 04/18/2013
Auburn Valley
Course is tough but not ridiculously tough. Greens are fairly hard to read and rough was thick due to recent rain. Fun and beautiful course and area.
Don’t be above the hole.
Having played here for many years I can tell you that at first glance one would think A V is v an easy layout. Playing from Tan tees the course is 6100 yds long. Pretty wide fairways nice rolling terrain. But ensure you know to be below the hole in most of the pin locations. Number 1 is 410 par 4. Driver 3iron to 35 tds short. Chipped to 12 ft. But above the hole. Ran 1st putt by 20 ft came up short in the next-smooth double. Repeated same scenario 3 other times
I love this course. Will be back but you must be below the hole
Thanks

A very scenic course. Not a big crowd so I could play with my 8 year old with no pressure. We love this course. We only wish it offers more food service during course play and the restaurant would stay open longer
Great day
Great day on the course, conditions were a little dry, the greens were brown and a couple were under repair.
Hopefully with some rain, it will bring the course back
Great day and great staff at Auburn Valley
The greens and the course itself was moderate. A few areas under repair. The golf carts are new and are super nice. GPS, sand and option for cooler. The staff was friendly and the marshal, Larry was the best.
Highly recommend getting out of the city and enjoy the hills of Auburn. The greens will challenge you.
Always fun course
Course a bit wet this time of year. No surprise. No hold ups. 4some completed 18 holes in 4 hours.
Fun course
Played on a cart path only day..... still not bad at all.
Greens not very good shape
The course was wet - very muddy in places. The condition of the greens was disappointing
No confirmed Golf Now time
Booked a time for 9:40. Arrived at 8:50 and while checking in was told I did not have a confirmed time and should have read the fine print while making the reservation. Starter wanted to get my twosome out at 9:30, which was no problem. Arrived at 1st tee at 9:20 and waited for the group ahead to tee off. Stepped to the tee and was asked by the employee at the tee what time I had, which I replied 9:40, but starter wanted to get me out at 9:30 ahead of an adult tournament. There was another group who said they had the 9:40 time, which happened to be the first group of the adult tournament. First tee employee asked me to go inside and talk with the starter. Starter asked if we could skip ahead to hole #3, as there should be a break between groups. Agreed on the premise that we would come around and play the skipped holes when done with 18. Found a twosome on the 4th tee and played the course through 18 (very slow play). When checking with the starter, who was different from the morning starter, on how to get in the order to play holes 1-3 I was told there was a junior tournament and I would have to wait 90 minutes. I found it difficult to believe the morning starter wasn’t aware of the Jr tournament. It would not have been difficult to equate when my group would finish 18 and be back to play the skipped holes. I was offered nothing but an apology and the opportunity to wait around 90 minutes. Very unprofessional starter.
That was fun
I got some very good practice on a really fun course with almost nobody around.
My sandwich was not good. Very salty and I asked for no mayo, but I didn't go for the food. The golf was much better..
GN not synchronized with their schedule call ahead to avoid stress. They honor reservations but have to fit you in.
GolfNow doesn’t work at Auburn Valley
We all got an earful as soon as we got there telling us that GolfNow and Auburn Valley don’t sync up and that our tee time was double booked. We got to the course with plenty of time to warm up only to be pulled 20 minutes early from the range to be squeezed in between 2 groups making the turn. So now we were pushed for our front 9 teeing off on 10 again 20 minutes early. The fact that they don’t sync up wasn’t our fault but the course certainly let us know that it was our fault and to quit using GolfNow when booking at their course. Auburn could use some flat tee boxes instead of new golf carts, as well as some items in the pro shop. One of our group wanted to buy some balls and couldn’t cause there was only one dozen of one kind for sale!! Wow!! I have seen less in some pro shops these days due to Covid but this was incredible the lack of items they had for sale. Cool course just needs work, and by the looks of things maybe going back to private or bankrupt hard to tell. I won’t be back to find out.
A new favorite
This is a great course. It was challenging and just a lot of fun. The staff was friendly, the fairways and greens were manicured. The only criticism would be some of the tee boxes needed some work, outside of that it was a great value and we will definitely keep this course at the top of our lists to play.
Beautiful Day!
It was a really good day on the course, hardly anyone out there for a pretty quick pace of play under 4 hours, course in good shape, tee boxes need a little help.
