Timberlake Country Club in Chapin sits on the shores of Lake Murray, just outside of Columbia in the Midlands of South Carolina. The classic design is reminiscent of traditional Scottish links courses, featuring a combination of water and pot bunkers as well as large grassy swales. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills, which provide plenty of contours and elevation changes. From the elevated tees, golfers will have a dramatic view of the rugged landscape. The golf course is mostly open though there are a few stands of mature trees that can be troublesome if you're not careful. The cavernous bunkers and carefully molded mounding present formidable challenges that will test even the best golfers. In addition to the golf course, Timberlake also offers a full driving range and practice green as well as tennis courts and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Timberlake Review

Excellent golf course layout around lake Murray .Course from the back tee’s forces you place tee shots and not always hit driver with dog legs and shorter par 4’s. Found the staff in the pro shop friendly and inviting would highly recommend to friends and family to play. Some grass growth required on greens and tees but overall course in great condition. 5 Stars

Up and coming .....I hope.

a great layout and the management are trying to rebuild the course, so in the future may be as nice as it once was. Maybe a nice weekday course for $25 but not $48 Sunday afternoon. Hopefully it will get better.

Underwhelming

The course layout is nice but the conditions from tee to green are brutal. Rarely was there any decent grass in the fairways. The greens were just ok. I would say 14 of them were fine but there were a few that were pretty bad. Not recovered from aeration and Poa annua all over them. The layout makes it worth it for the money but that needs to be understood before you go play.

Nice course!

Nice course , great layout, especially number 18, only problem with Timberlake was the fact that my girlfriend and I payed 16.00 for a eight year old girl who doesn’t have a care in the world about golf just to ride, I thought 8.00 -10.00 max but when I asked why so much, I was completely ignored even after asking twice!

Great bang for your buck.

Great layout and challenging. Greens were in excellent condition. However, the tee boxes and fairways were horrible-hardly any grass.

The winter and rain have been hard on the course. Many of the greens had only spotty grass, and most of the fairways were hard and barren of grass.
Normally this is a beautiful course. I would still recommend it, but later in the season to see if the course makes a come back.
