Witch Golf Club
About
The Witch golf course is situated between Conway and Myrtle Beach, S.C. sprawling across more than 500 secluded acres that are far removed from residential and commercial development. The peaceful setting is abundant with wildlife including bald eagles and deer. You may even see an alligator during your round. The Dan Maples design has a challenging but fun routing that is known for the tricky green complexes. There is plenty of variety throughout with a front nine that plays through marshland and a back nine that is routed across rolling hills. There are a few forced carries and some strategically placed bunkers but you won't find much water on the golf course. The fairways range from wide to narrow, and the well manicured, undulating greens roll fast and true. The Witch is a popular round on the Myrtle Beach golf circuit.

Not worth the money
Just finished playing the Witch. This used to be a favorite. But for a $70 plus tax greens fee you'd get more value for your money at many other courses which are in much better shape. The cart paths are all tore up, stairs up to tee boxes are a accident waiting to happen, tee boxes are poorly mowed, traps are showing the fabric . I will not play this course or recommend it again unless they lower the greens fee by at least $25. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
Deserves Six Stars
The Witch is an unbeatable combo of great golf, exceptional value and the most welcoming vibe I've ever experienced at a daily fee course. The type of place you want to play over and over and over.
What a joke!!!
How can you open a course with 9 holes flooded and we never get told by anyone. We had played 4 courses prior to this and yes we understand about debris, cart path only, etc after a very bad hurricane. But come on-staff couldn't care less-play the same nine twice or get a rain check? Will never be back-greedy owners must need their Fall $$$ and couldn't care less about customer service. So long for good Witch!!
Plush track
For this time of year we were amazed by how green and plush the conditions were.
Had to cancel an earlier tee time at another course(rain) My two sons (20) and (17) and I, we're literally the only group on the course at 1:30 PM. I have never experienced that. The front nine is one of the most enjoyable in Myrtle Beach. I have played well over 25 courses, including The Wizard and Man O War. Not as much water as I expected. # 9 was a great dog-leg left over a marsh. 18 was a great finishing hole as well(missed a 10 footer for Birdie)
I will be back. Mainly a morning player but if the course is open like this may work in a PM again....
Miles of Bridges
Located in the middle of a swamp this course is unique in that way. This course has more bridges and wetlands down the sides of many fairways that I have ever seen.. The fairways are wide though and the greens large and the conditions are usually good. This is one of the few courses that allows coolers so pack a few beers, don't forget your bug spray and have a truly unique golf experience on the strand.
Attack of the bugs
This course is laid out nicely. Our foursome enjoyed the course. However, there are some weird mosquito/bee type insects that are relentless. Being in the low country area of South Carolina they were unavoidable (according to some locals). My foursome used all the routine insect repellents and they did not help 1 bit.
Overall great course. If they can get rid of the bugs it would be even better.
The Witch is in great condition!
Played The Witch last week while in Myrtle Beach, it was in great condition. The greens are rolling fantastically. Love that swamp on the front 9. Nothing else like it in the game.
Another great round
Headed out for a post-holiday round and again didn't disappoint!
Fourth of July Fun
Visited Myrtle Beach for the Fourth of July weekend and had to make a return visit to one of my favorite courses on the Grand Strand. The course was in great shape, and the staff was especially friendly when it came to finding the right hat for a hot day.
Fun golf course!
What can I say? We had a blast playing this course. Saw a bald eagle too! Greens rolled smooth and fairways were in great shape.
Best Course for $$$$ on Myrtle
The Witch is a fun track and the best value for your money on Myrtle Beach. Check it out!
Great Layout and Value
First time playing in MB. For 70 bucks I didn't know what to expect after paying True Blue and paying $154 and being somewhat underwhelmed. I was extremely happy with this course, great layout, friendly staff, cool nature with gators and snakes. Really enjoyed the layout and quite a challenge from the Tips. The greens weren't the prettiest but they were quick and true. Would definitely recommend playing here excited to try the other 2 courses.
Worth a Look
Played The Witch a few times now and it's always a fun round.
Very nice condition, great greens!
This is a very nice golf course that always seems to be in good condition. I spend about a month in Jan-Feb in the area and play about 10-15 rounds of golf. Though this is one of the less expensive venues I play, the condition is better than a lot of others in the area. This year, although it was very wet, the course was in great shape and the greens were the best that I played. It proves that just because its wintertime it doesn't mean that the greens must be in bad shape. They obviously have a great greenskeeper who takes pride in his craft! Congratulations!
A Myrtle Beach Must Play
With a plethora of golf courses to choose from in Myrtle Beach, the Witch is one of my personal favorites. Winding through a very cool landscape, I thoroughly enjoy playing this course every time I'm in the area.
Mystical Golf Package round 3/3
After reading past reviews of this course I was a little apprehensive. Being told by the starter to watch for gators and snakes is always a good sign. The course was in nearly perfect shape. Even the day after Labor Day it showed very little signs of play or impact from the weather. The greens were immaculate and rolled extremely fast and were breaking very hard. This course is absolutely beautiful and out of the three course(Man o War, and the Wizard) this would be the one I would recommend the most.
Great Course
This was a fun find on a buddy trip! Def come back
Best in Myrtle Beach
The Witch had me cackling with glee. Great layout and incredibly well conditioned. Must play on any Myrtle Beach itinerary. Claude and his team are the best!
Great course!
We play this course every year on our Myrtle Beach golf trip.
