regent 's in great shape
the course is in great condition. fairways and greens were fantastic. off the fairway was a little dicey and could be tended to more, but thats getting pretty picky and its not where you should be playing your round anyway. the course is pretty open and lets you rip drives and still typically keep the ball in the fairway. the couse layout is terrible, so make sure you pay attention to all the signs.
Decent course
Played on a Friday as a single ,because I got a hood deal on golfnow. There was a large group of foursomes and had to wait on most holes. A few of the groups let me through.
The course was in decent shape, inspite of all the rain the day before.
The greens were ALL in great shape and that more than made up for the slow play.
My highlight was a chip in birdie on the par 4 hole 14.
Course uses every type shot
Each hole has it's own personality. You will use every club in your bag. Fairways and greens are not quite "ripe" yet but they are very playable. Really enjoyed our round. Very fair course to play.
Everything was bad.
Course was in bad shape, starter was not friendly, waited 10 minutes on every tee box, 5hr round, weeds all over fairway.
Regents Park
Beautiful layout with mature trees and platings. Could work on weed control on the fairways.
Worth a try
It is early in the season so did not expect too much in the way of the condition of the grass, but the greens seemed to have a lot of crab grass mixed in.
Great layout, but needs better care
Regent Park has long been a favorite destination. Fun, challenging layout, although pricey without a discount. However, greens are not in great shape. Ran very slow with uneven conditions. General maintenance level seems down from years past. Still fun to play but hoping it gets greater care this Summer.
Great Place to play
Even though Inhad one of me worst rounds this year, I still really enjoy this course. It is a great place to play and if you make it through number 8 with a bogey you have done better then most. The par 5 's on this course are great and if you hit it long most can be gotten in two. It has five par 3's that are really fun. You most hit the green on three of them or bogey is waiting to get you. I would play it all the time if I lived closer to the cousre but it is well worth the drive to play it. Always in great shape and the staff is always friendly.
Good layout, needs some TLC
The course layout was pretty nice. You could tell this was once a premiere facility. The course just needs a little maintenance, and it would be top notch, but it has been a rough winter, so maybe it is still recovering. Despite other reviews, the staff was fine and friendly even.
decent course
The course was in decent shape. The golf now price is almost right at the amount I would spend for a round.
Came Highly Recomended - Didn't Disappoint
We usually travel to the NC area at least once ever year and it was our first time staying in the Charleston area for lodging. Course was recommended by a fellow golfer friend and it did not disappoint us one bit. For the time of year and the winter we just endured the course was in good shape. Very picturesque and a pleasure to play. Staff were very friendly and clubhouse and amenities were well priced and enjoyable.
Bring your game
You'll need your A game and use all the clubs in your bag to score. Challenging but fair and enjoying.
Course was pretty nice
I guess I was just aggravated at the owner/manager. When we got there it was a little cold, and raining. No one was playing on the course.
I asked for a later start time to see if the rain would stop, but the owner/manager was very snotty to me, and told me "no, I don't make changes for discounted tee times" (meaning that I paid through golfnow.com). Seemed that he was aggravated at ME because I got a discount.
Anyway, we did play, and within 1 hour it stopped raining and turned into a nice day.
The course was; however, very wet.
I will NOT play there again; there are too many other great courses that golfnow has to offer, and where the managers/owners/workers have great attitudes.
Mulligan Man
Course was in good shape for this time of the year.
Nice open course
I've played Regent a good number of times. It's in better shape now than in the past. It's a nice, fairly open course with a few tricks. I'd recommend it as a good value course.
this is a very nice course and challenges you both left and right
first time playing this course,
found the layout well marked and the course played very well.
the bermuda is a little tough and if you dont hit the fairways you pay for it with penalty strokes.
take a little off your shots, hit the middle of the fairways and score well.
shot a 76 and look forward to playing again.
Excellent course, to bad staff behind counter in pro shop was so dismissive.
I had been to this course the day before and was treated very well and course was in good condition. I and a buddy got a hot deal for the next day. We arrived about 40 minutes prior to tee time and after showing the lady at pro shop voucher and inquired about going off sooner was told no had groups in front of us we would have to wait. The course had about 6 cars in the lot at the time and while we waited no other groups cam in. Went in again and asked to go early and was told looked like group that was wscheduled had not checked in (yeah right) and we could go ahead and tee off. We had the course to ourselves no one came behind us and when we left after round only 3 cars in lot. They need to get rid of that person otherwise they will not get play. Greens also painted green.
Overall the course was in good condition.
Overall the course was in good condition, fairways were in great shape, lots of sand traps which were in good condition. One green was in bad condition and wood bridges were in terrible shape with a large hole in one walk bridge partially covered by carpet. Club house bathroom was also dirty with poor fitting doors. So, in summary, the course was great but needs a good handyman to repair bridges and clubhouse.
Staff extremely dismissive and unaccommodating!
We arrived a little over an hour early on a Monday morning to an empty practice facility and requested to go out early rather than hit the range. Was told NO because there were various tee time in front of us. We waited a while and still noticed an empty course, practice facility, parking lot and pro shop... After a short discussion told him to keep the money and went to play Tega Cay (much better course)
