Lucky # 13
The course was in good shape and round of golf was very enjoyable. My 13 year old son used a 6 iron from the white tees on hole #13. His shot from 147 yards was solid, but the unexpected happened when we got the green....Hole in one!
We will be back to play Regent Park!
one of my favorites in the area
Regent Park never disappoints me. I have played here 10 times probably. The staff is always friendly, and the course is always well maintained.
Consistently one of the best public courses in Charlotte!
This is a great course. Well worth the extra $5-$10 more than less than comparable courses in the area.
Scenic and challenging
Another beautiful North Carolina course with rolling hills and full grown trees throughout. Challenging lies at times; large undulating greens that were significantly slower than a neighboring course I played as well. Still, they rolled fairly true and held your shot. Saw several deer while playing.
Nice variety of holes
Having five par fives was unusual but enjoyed the course. It has a varied topography. All but the greens were in good shape. The problem with the greens in that other players failed to fix their ball marks! Also, it had long cart drives to get to some of the holes you would not be able to walk this course
Nice chalange
This is a very enjoyable course for all skill levels. Greens were in excellent shape, tee boxes showed a little wear but good overall
Nice Course with a Country Club Feel
I've played here twice now, and both times had a very enjoyable weekend round. The pace of play was so great the first time in June that we felt as if we had the course to ourselves. My boyfriend is an 18 handicap and I'm a 36, but the blue & red tees are set so that our drives are nicely equalized. There are some very challenging holes on this course, which keeps it interesting for even an advanced golfer--lots of rolling hills, valleys to hit over, and the course is nicely landscaped. It was getting a little dried out when we played at the end of July, but still well maintained overall--I didn't give 5 stars only because of some patchy areas on the greens & the cart paths are VERY rough on some holes, but the fairways are still quite plush. The staff was WONDERFUL--exceptionally helpful & friendly. I lost a custom club head cover, and they had it the next morning, and held it for me for almost a month. I forgot my putter, and they loaned me one from the rental set free of charge. The little bar/restaurant had a much wider & better selection of beer than most courses I've played, and they maintained water stations along the course at regular intervals on the 96-degree day we played. I live on a private golf course in Florida, and this was as close as I've found to a country club experience at a public course. I'll be back!
friendly layout fun course,greens stink!
fun and friendly course.great for us amateurs.great lay out.fair not to hard.one thing is the course needs some work on the fairways around the greens.weeds!!! the greens are some of the worst I have ever played.it is the strangest grass I have ever played??? what who knows?not bent not Bermuda. some kind of awful mix I guess?? after the sun hits afternoon the greens get real slow and sticky.like sap?needs to have a ton of sand put in the greens to firm them up.looks like they are mowed every other day??? traps are never raked.Edicate NONE!!! 2 players with one bag.people hit into you.dogs and people run on the course?pratice green stinks so does the driving range.only good thing is it is easy and cheap.if I had it I would rebuild the greens again and get the grass out of the fairway bunkers?? more rakes and signs to tell beginners to rake the traps!!! and do not play into the group in front of you.spend some money.you would have a great fun course.gets lots of play.add five dollars to the cost and put it in the course not in your pocket.you have to spend money to make it.fun layout.needs some good touch ups is all.$$$$$!!!!! fun for the cost.needs work.and TLC!!! WORST GREENS IN CHARLOTTE...firm them up please!!! way to soft and slow!!!!
Good for the money
Average/good upkeep of the course, I think this was why the greens fees were cheaper. I would much rather have a cheaper fee than an immaculate course anyway. Definitely worth it for $39.
Fun Course
The course was in good shape and not very busy that day. There was more elevation change than expected, but a lot of fun.
Gone to seed
It was a shame to see the condition that this course was in after enjoying it as a member some 7-8 years ago. The layout is still fun, but the greens were in very poor shape, and the tees and fairways he'd not been mowed for so long that the Bermuda seed heads were popping up everywhere. Cups looked like they had not been recut in days. Don't know if it's due to lack of funds or lack of quality maintenance, but this once fine track is struggling.
Not what it use to be.
This course use to be a well maintained course. I played this course about 10 years ago. The layout is the same, however the condition of the course was BAD. I was surprised to see this nice course go down. I was looking it play this course based on my experience 10 years ago at Regent Park.
Never will go back.
This course use to be immaculate and in perfect condition. Now it just fair at best. The part that got to me the most was how much we paid to play this place and the rudest staff I have ever come across. The value for the money is the worst I have ever seen, their obviously not putting into the course. The staff is by far the worst part about this place. It's no wonder the parking lot at this DUMP stays empty.
Regent Park
Great course with lots of unexpected elevation changes! Only criticisms dealt with very few water coolers on course. Ranger told us water was available at comfort stations - one per side. Will know to bring ample water next time as beverage cart met us on 8th hole and on 18th hole as we finished our round.
Very firm fairways ball rolls forever be careful.
Being from Fla. we loved the elevation changes which were on every hole. The greens rolled true and were faster than they looked, loved the whole course.
great course and outstanding staff!
Had great time and enjoyed to course. One issue is the condition of the wooden bridges on several holes that are in desperate need of repair. They shouldn't wait until there's a catastrophic event.
Greens & Tee Boxes ok but fairways need grass
Pace of play was great for a Saturday morning.
This course used to be very well maintained but something is a little off right now. Fairways are really thin - look green from a distance but no grass under your ball when you need it.
I will say the greens and most tee boxes were in very good condition.
Not sure if I will play at this course again until I see better fairways. Certainly not for $50+ pp. there are much better courses in the area for that price.
Course needs some attention
A little pricey for the condition of the course. Yardage for women's tees is not very accurate. Bunkers have grass growing in them and they are not even raked or evened out. I marked yes that I would recommend but I would tell the person of the conditions that I mentioned.
Right in front of you
I'd played this course once before but it had been a couple of years. Greens were in good shape except for a lot of unrepaired divots. Course was in good shape-pretty good grass in the fairways and around greens. I shot my low round of the years-77. I will definitely be back!
