2nd, par-4, 398. Walter Travis’ penchant for high quality bunkering and mounding is clearly evident here. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/30/2022

5th, par-4, 336. Short but lethal, this downhill, two-shot hole nonetheless offers a beautiful Green Mountain backdrop. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/30/2022

8, par-4, 398. One of the deeply embedded greenside bunkers may prove hazardous to your score after an errant approach shot. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/30/2022

10th, par-4, 355. The spire of the First Congregational Church of Manchester is struck by late-afternoon rays of sunlight. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/30/2022

12th, par-4, 361 (center of photo). At twelve, a drive and pitch hole, you’ll want to miss all of the eleven bunkers. The scenery, though, is not to be ignored. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/30/2022

13th, par-4, 423. The toughest and maybe best hole at Equinox, this brutal “Volcano” hole will test you fully from tee to cup. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/30/2022

Mr. Sandmaster
Beautiful course with some breathtaking views.
It’s unfortunate that some iof the bunkers are completely unplayable An upscale resort should have excellent bunkers!
This course is well below par
Staff was not welcoming. We asked the starter for help because it was our first time playing this course. He pointed to the first tee box. Failing to give us the information on how the flag positions were marked. I have never seen sand traps in worse condition. You couldn’t walk in them without falling because of the rocks and lack of sand.. there was no apparent attempt to repair the traps. There was no rain fall in the 4 previous days. I tried to talk to someone about , but no one was available to hear our Concerns.
Overall this was not worth $80 never mind the $170 we paid. I would never recommend or play this course again.
Fire the starter
The round was going well. 1:40 for the front nine and then the starter decides to stick a 5-some ahead of us on the 10th tee. When I went into the pro shop to ask for an explanation the person told me that the group had left after playing 9 in the morning and came back to finish their round. What?!!! Tell me. Is this acceptable? We were treated as persona non grata from the start and until that happened I was willing to let things slide. GolfPass patrons beware: this golf club is anything but inviting, cordial, and professional. Shame. It is a nice layout, in good shape.
Fun Quick Round
We had a 2:40 tee time but were able to get out early and finished by 6:00. The course was in a nice condition. Some of the back nine holes are laid out oddly with some straight up a hill shot.
Good course - not a lot of trouble
There were a few temp greens in play when I was there , including the 18th which was a pity.
Greens and fairways were nice. Open course , forgiving , with not a lot of trouble a few tight holes where hitting the fairway off the tee was more challenging. But overall a good course.
High handicappers and beginners would find this a friendly course. Low handicappers would enjoy the greens.
Undisclosed construction; poor value
Played this course on the last day of a golf trip in VT. Expected it to be up to the same level as the associated resort, and consistent with the high price, but it was not. Three holes are under construction, and the greens are being aerated, none of which is stated on the website or while booking. When we brought this up, we were told that “we could have chosen not to play when we arrived.” Really, the suggestion was that, after booking the round, driving there with friends, and paying for the round, we should have just chosen not to play! We explicitly asked for a partial refund, which was rejected.
The course will be nice when it is fully reopened, and it has a nice layout, but at the moment it is misleading and a terrible value. Head up to Neshobe or any of the other great courses in VT; better golf for less $.
Great course
Even better with nobody on it. Temperatures approaching 90 must have sent others to morning tee times. Afternoon we had the couse almost to ourselves.
Great golf
Course was in great shape. Greens rolled fast and true. COVID closed all amenities.
Well we were expecting to play golf but the weather was horrible it was raining really bad I thought that the golf course would have closed but they stayed open. So I had to forfeit my game. Never got to play golf and lost all my money
Great value in beautiful Vermont setting
Great layout. Tees, fairways and greens were all in great shape. Sand traps were like concrete and didn’t seem like they were being raked daily, which is more of an issue when there are no takes available due to COVID 19.
Beautiful and playable
My wife Cathy and I joined another couple for a fun day of golf. Course was in excellent shape and played in 4 hours. Hitting you second or third shot across a road on the par 5 7th hole can possibly hit a passing vehicle. Will play the Equinox again. J L
Fun at Equinox
it was a fun yet challenging layout. Definitely going back!
New England Gem
This was my second time playing Equinox and it lived up to my nostalgic memories. The backdrop is second to none. Greens and fairways were in fabulous condition. The rough was a little burnt due to over mowing and a minor drought Vermont is currently in. I could play this course every day. It’s straight forward, forgiving and an absolute poster card.
Good course but burnt our now
This is a wonderful layout. I could not understand how burnt out it was. Since it was the entire course, I assume it was just a lack of rain and watering.
