Oaks at Edgewood Golf Course
About
Edgewood in Big Bend boasts two different 18-hole courses, the Oaks and the Pines. There is something for everyone no matter what skill level you are since the more challenging Oaks Course is perfectly complemented by the more forgiving Pines Course. The Oaks is routed through a diverse landscape of rolling hills covered with mature forests and lakes. It also winds alongside the Fox River. Water hazards come into play and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Tremendous emphasis is placed on accuracy on this golf course, but it is not too punishing if your shots are slightly errant. The course stretches to 6,800 yards from the back tees. A cart will be required on this golf course but the flatter, shorter Pines Course is much more walker friendly.

Nice course very challenging
I play a couple times a week and like to think that after 35× years at it know the rules of pace of play, on our last round we followed a 3some wich following a 4some got a bit slow in a few holes, we didn't mind but the 2some behind us did and called the club house to complain about our pace of play that we couldn't do much about, so at the 9 fairway the course Marshall approached us it seem like he knew the situation and said not to worry about it.
Just glad to see the response.
Save your money go elsewhere or only play back 9
Was able to walk on and play entire round with my son in 3 hours. Greens were fast but somewhat inconsistent. Fairways in bad shape and disappointing after hitting straight drive. Back 9 definitely the highlight and glad we played since almost quit after 9 due to poor course and staff almost seeming bothered by us at check in. Found the staff not interested and dismissive and I was charged a couple more dollars than I expected to pay when booking. I will not go back or recommend. Too many other good courses in area.

Edgewood
Beautiful course that is very well maintained. Staff, especially the starters were extremely friendly and helpful. Pace of play was very rough, on the front 9 of the Oaks course there was a foursome in front of us. They did not have anyone holding them up. We would have to wait 5-10min on every hole, and no matter how close we got they would not speed up or let us pass. When we went to the back nine there was a league teeing off so the starter told us to start on 18 so they would be gone when we got back. When we returned to the 10th hole there was still a hold up so the starter was nice enough to let us go play the front 9 on the Pines course since it was clear. So the only issue would be the pace of other people which I cannot blame on the course so that is why I still rated it 4stars. Only wish I could have seen what the entire Oaks course had to offer.
Thanks for the compliments of the course! We're sorry you had a slower round and go stuck behind the leagues, the leagues are over now so please come back again!
Service and pace of play
Finished the front 9 oaks in 2 hours because of the league play on the back 9 we had to wait a little while behind 14 4 somes. We were fine but then it just got to be way to slow. Group behind us finally got so mad they went back to the club house on hole 15. We casually waited our time but when we got to 17 after 3 1/2 hours and saw them teeing off we skipped and got to play 18 thank goodness. The brats in the clubhouse were awful and the cart lady with the drinks we saw 3 times in 5 1/2 hours. Not sure where she was but could've made a lot more money. By far my worst experience here in a while.
We're sorry to hear about your day at the course! Please email me directly so discuss more of what happened.

thirsty
only saw beverage cart 3 times. 1st as we were teeing off hole 2. Then we did not see one until the 11th hole(and again just as we left the club house) but we did by one, only to let it get warm, and then at the 16th. It was hot, and we were very thirsty.
We're sorry to hear the beverage cart didn't make it to you enough! We appreciate the feedback and hope you give us another shot.
Let down
Greens were in awesome shape. Fairways and tee boxes not so much. What's with leaving a deposit for golf cart keys? I play about 40 rounds per season and have played over 60 courses and have never had that. Just a pain to have to go back into the club house wait in line to get my deposit back. Some holes on the course I really liked but others could of been upgraded. Pace of play was great until we hit the 12th tee and then it got very very slow.
Thank you for the review and your feedback about the course! We ask for the deposit from unfortunate experiences that have happened in the past. We hope you come back again soon!
Nice course for the price
Staff was friendly and the the pace was good. The greens were in excellent shape when I was there. The fairways were good and the rough was thick but was cut short. Overall it was a good round at a solid price.
Thank you for the nice review! We're glad you enjoyed the round and got a good deal. We offer the best rates online so be sure to book through our website!
Very well kept
This was a very nice course, everything very well kept. Found a hot deal on golf now for $25 for a round on the Oak course. So for the money this course couldn't be beat. Now paying full price there are other Waukesha course that are better. But the greens were fun, fairways were difficult and plenty of space if you don't have a high FIR.
Thanks for playing our course! You can get great tee time specials online if you book through our website. The course is a lot of fun to play and we're glad you thought so too! Hope you come back again!
good
It was very well worth it, but it played pretty tough.
Thanks for the review! Tough but fun, come back again!
Enjoyable Course
Have not played in couple years, but course was in good shape. Very crowded day (July 3rd), but the pace of the game seem good. Course offers holes with different challenges which keeps each shot interesting. Would recommend this course.
Thanks for coming back out after a couple years! The course can certainly be a challenge but still fun! Hope to see you again this summer.
Challenging but open enough for any level golfer
Have played here many times. Found great deal online. Found course in very good to excellent playing condition, greens had good speed to them, lots of room on most holes for using driver. Front 9 greens had lots of undulation to them making approach shots important. Would play here again anytime.
We hope you do play at the course again! Thanks for the positive review, great to hear you found a good deal and enjoyed your round.
Great Course
We have been playing Edgewood for years and it is one of our favorite spots. The back 9 of the Oaks Course is an awesome layout. Course conditions are always consistent and it is the best value for your money in the Milwaukee area.
Awesome to hear you think the course is the best value for your money! We hope you keep coming back!
Great Value
Teed off at 6:25 am on a beautiful morning. Course is in very good shape and the deal we got on GolfNow was great!
You got the best tee time! Early bird gets the worm! We hope you keep coming back, thanks for the nice review!
Saturday 8:30
Should have been reasonably paced, teed off after the men's club. The round took 4 hours and 33 minutes to complete. It would have been fine at under 4 hours, but it's a waste of time to play this slow. I won't be coming back anytime soon
We're sorry to hear your round went 33 minutes over the normal pace. We hope you give us another shot as that was a rare occasion with the men's club.
36 holes offer fun for all
The Oaks is a little more challenging, with more water, doglegs and yardage. But the Pines is nothing to write off either. We tend to golf first thing in the a.m, so rate of play has never been an issue, but I have seen it back up later in the day. Has snacks and full bar. Clubhouse guys are always friendly, drink cart girls are nice too, although it's too early for them to be out yet. Courses were in surprisingly good conditions given how early in the year it is. Very wet right now, you will see soggy spots, might even lose a ball in the middle of the fair way if you don't look hard enough. Carts are cart path only right now. For the price, this course is one the top courses in the area to play frequently. I recommend everyone plays both courses atleast once.
What a Treat to Play, Course Gives U Everything
I played the back tees in 2014 with a couple of Marquette college engineers, and this course from the tips will beat your Butt. Bring your straight game here tips players, and long. Shot 83 from tips. But this time I brought my golfing buddy and we played from the whites. Was nice afternoon week day Nice course layout, and going through the tunnel to the 10 tee box and across the street, your in for a real challenge on the back side of the oaks, marsh, lots of water, and long holes. and Very Narrow. If you can score well and survive hole 4 & 5 nightmares to the pull hitter, and slicer, and mange even bogeys on both holes you on to a good scoring front nine. The back 9, reminds me a lot of South Carolina golfing. Secluded. Give your self enough time to play the oaks if I can saying anything. It will show you every look a course can give you, and you will use every club in your bag. And oh ya, bring extra balls if U do not hit straight trust me on this, there is so much trouble on every hole to find your little round ball. LOL.. I enjoy the Oaks and will play it several times this summer. Enjoy this one, worth the time to play it.
Thank you for all the feedback! Hole 4 and 5 will give you a run for your money! We're glad to hear you will be back this summer!
Really enjoyed Edge Wood
I played the oaks and realized how much I like this course. I've been coming here for about four years now. The staff was friendly. I do have to say the tee boxes could be a little flatter. Great place to golf!
Thank you for the feedback! We're so happy to hear you keep coming back!
The course is in good shape this early in the season.
Course was in very good condition for this time of year. Great value and golf course.
Hope to see you again soon!
Edgewood's "The Oaks" Can't get enough!!!
I can never get enough. I love The Oaks because you can get a taste of "The Pines" when playing the front 9 and when playing the back 9 across the road gives me the feeling of play a whole different links style course. I'm sure everyone agrees why hole #14 is my favorite hole... such an awesome view... and FUN!!! Very fun and exciting and challenging course! Edgewood's "Pines" course is awesome as well.
Nice! Thank you for the great remarks! We hope you keep coming back!
Great course great staff
I have been golfing here for over 15 years. The course is always in great shape. Sometimes water gets the best of a few holes but it is not their fault. The Pines is a fun 18 holes for any golfer. The Oaks brings in a whole different course. Can't go wrong with either. The staff is the best in the area, hands down. I've run outings all over the area and John Freeman and his people are the best. John is also a great teacher. Between him and his wife, my whole family is golfing now! You need to visit here! Come on a nice warm dry day and bring your putting A game!
Thanks for the review about your experience at the course, we hope you keep choosing us and we will keep the pace of play going!
