Oaks at Edgewood Golf Course
About
Edgewood in Big Bend boasts two different 18-hole courses, the Oaks and the Pines. There is something for everyone no matter what skill level you are since the more challenging Oaks Course is perfectly complemented by the more forgiving Pines Course. The Oaks is routed through a diverse landscape of rolling hills covered with mature forests and lakes. It also winds alongside the Fox River. Water hazards come into play and there are also strategically placed bunkers to contend with. Tremendous emphasis is placed on accuracy on this golf course, but it is not too punishing if your shots are slightly errant. The course stretches to 6,800 yards from the back tees. A cart will be required on this golf course but the flatter, shorter Pines Course is much more walker friendly.

Great fairways
The coarse is in excellant condition and very scenic.
golf big bend
Course in excellent condition. Greens smooth and fast. Quite a few water hazards.
Nice sporty course
Twosome played 18 riding. Second time we played the Oaks, immensely enjoyed the course. Well maintained and beautiful scenery.
A good first impression.
This was my first time playingoing this course. I was pleasantly surprised. I played The Oaks. The course was definitely challanging and laid out very well. The greens are very fast and added to the difficulty of the round. I noticed that there are some spots on the fairways that could use some work and we're rough but overall the course was in good shape.
My friends and I really enjoyed the course. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I plan to play here again and often. For the money it is worth every penny. For my next visit I'll try The Pines and see if it is also as nice as the The Oaks is.
Great course
This course is very well kept, fun and challenging.
Wasted $$$
This has to be the worst conditioned golf course that I've played in the last 20 years. There are no fairways unless you consider 1 inch of grass the fairway, & if you like slowwww & bumpyyy greens that roll about an 8 on the stimpmeter then this is the golf course for you. It is appalling to me that they could take any true golfers $$ to play under these conditions. Save your time & $$$ & go someplace else.
Interesting holes
I regularly play at Pines, the other 18 holes at same location, which is nice and fun, but this is my second time playing Oaks and some holes are challenging and hard to play through.
If you have never play this course I dare you !
Poor conditions front nine.
Four greens were aerated on the first nine. No mention of this while checking in with an unfriendly starter desk employee. Back nine is nice and challenging. Overall conditions were average.
Greens
Greens on the front nine of the oaks course were shoddy at best.
the oaks
course is in great shape, pin placements were horrible, always seemed tucked to 1 corner of a huge green
Slow. Slow. Slow
First time playing the course. Nice layout but conditions were just average. The biggest drawback was the pace of play. There was a slow foursome that held up the whole course and the Marshall's did nothing. Very frustrating. Smart courses deal with slow players because they care about the experience of the majority of the golfers. I doubt I will be back.
Challenging course
The Oaks starts out somewhat easy, but you soon realize that accuracy is absolutely needed on many of the holes. On some there is no bail-out and expect to loose your wayward golf ball. The greens are undulating and judging speed/lag putts are a necessity or you end up loosing a few more shots.
A cart is mandatory, no walkers allowed for the 18 hole Oaks (you can walk the Pines) as the back nine is over the main road. Not sure if walking the front 9 of Oaks is allowed.
Nice course to relax and unwind
This course has a good range of difficulty from hole to hole. Course fairways have a lot of undulation.
First Time Player
Got a GolfNow discount. Course was very well groomed. Greens are excellent. Layout is interesting and not monotonous.
There should be ALOT more drinking water available on the course
Awful
Very unkept, tee boxes not cut. Greens in poor shape. Course does not drain well. Only place I've ever seen with an artificial mat as a drop area!!! Bare spots all over and bunkers were unplayable.
Nice layout, nice, full, fast greens
The course was in nice condition. If the fairways were just a little shorter it would have been 5s all around.
Tale of Two Nines
Other than the teeboxes and a couple fairways (6&7 especially) the course is in great shape. Greens are great! Course is very fun with a lots of elevation and a tough layout in spots - 4, 5, 15, & 17 are difficult with water and there are plenty of holes with woods and blind tee shots - you need to hit controlled shots to the fairway. Also has some scenic holes on the back (10&11). The back 9 is really nice. For sub-$30 this course is totally worth it. Any more than that and I would be a bit more annoyed with the conditions of the teeboxes and a couple fairways.
Old and new
Haven't played this course in years. They previously had the two newer nines combined into a 18 which was challenging and unique. Now they force you to play at least 9 holes of the old 18 combined with 9 of the newer 18. The older 18 was almost completely underwater previously so conditions need some work. Some of the fairways are so rough you can't drive your cart at even a moderate pace. Teed off at 6:15, finished at 9:30. Good value for price paid.
Awesome, challenging and beautiful course!!!
Edgewood has always been one of my favorites here in the Milwaukee area. THE OAKS course is my favorite of their two 18ers probably because of the back 9. I love how the back 9 of THE OAKS is spaced out into the nature land. It's a gorgeous setting. I have yet to bring my wife and daughter because I know they'll love the scenery also.
Super
The Oaks is a super course! Surrounded by the beauty of nature, with lovely vistas, interesting challenges, a a chance also to score, this course offers everything a golfer wants. Can't wait to play it again.
