Needs help
Payed $20 with a hot deal. Pretty easy greens. Most are pancake flat but on the small side. Course would be much better if they discovered weed control, irrigation and basic grass management. It’s playable but some greens surrounded by tall weeds. Some tee boxes are 90% sand. So if you want cheap golf and not worried about moving your ball for an acceptable lie it’s all good.
Solid for the price
Course layout is solid with a lot of dog legs. Conditions not great but greens weren’t bad. Very slow greens. Would recommend for the price
Nice course
Wider fairways and friendly staff.
Close the course
The staff is friendly and thats the only good thing I have to say
Close the course and put some money into it, tee boxes are horrible fairways and surrounding areas are destroyed not only by neglect but by the hundreds of sand cranes digging up the course
Bunkers, fringe and greens I have no words just to give you an idea of how bad it is we watched the grounds keeper stepping on the gas of the ball retriever and just ripping up the grass with spinning tires and didn’t even have a care in the world
Lastly asking for any price they should be ashamed
Oaks like so many other " golf communities"
This was really a great layout when first built. Like so many golf communities though, once the developer had sold all the housing lots, the course was left to decay. I've seen this all over Florida and it's so sad. You can see the designer's vision but it's now nearly gone due to lack of funds to maintain the course. It's worth $50 just to see the layout, but it's close to unplayable in its current state.
The players make this one
First and foremost: the tan man at the counter with the east coast accent is THE MAN. Now — about the course.
Short game. Practice it. This course does not give you good looks at the green…unless it’s over water. Get up and down.
Would never play here again
Course conditions overall were horrible. Most the greens had stuff all over them and a majority looked like they had tire tracks all over them. Most the tee boxes were not kept up well at all. Fairways were meh at best, multiple times we were in a pile of sand right in the middle of the fairway. Pace of play was horrendous and staff did nothing to help with it or compensate. We booked for 12:30 and only got thru 14 holes in almost 5 hours. We stopped after 9 to ask for money back to stop playing at 9 as it had been over 3 hours at that point and we had places to be at 6:30 but they refused and said they told us it was going to be slow (which is just not true all they said was there was a few groups ahead and that the course was in solid conditions which was so far from the truth.) overall would never play here again even if it was for free, by far the worse course I’ve ever been too.
Bad
Fairways, greens, cart paths all terrible. No food for breakfast. No cart girl during the round on a Saturday. I’m not sure how this course is rated above one stars. It was bad all the way around.
Good course
Course was a little muddy from rain and cart paths had some areas that were rough but overall really good condition and a fun layout with a ton of water. Clubhouse staff were friendly but not much going on in terms of food / drink for after the round but that could just be due to slower season in January.
7:30am tee off
First time playing here really enjoyed it. A great range of tee’s. Tee areas were a little bit worn but fairways and greens were in good condition. The greens were really wet but we did tee off a 7:30. Some holes weren’t very good a very short par 3 and a few holes were very very narrow. Overall great value for money and would play again.
Oaks
The Oaks is improving. I have seen some improvements in the course maintenance over the last year. The tee boxes are improving. They cut back a lot of vegetation on hole #7 that makes it more playable. I thought the traps had pretty good sand. They just need some work in the rough and some of the worn out grassy areas..
Oaks National
The course needs good maintenance and improved management of pace of play
