Must Try
Played after a lot of rain and also windy conditions.
Should be a nice challenge from all the tee boxes. Easy
to get to off of RT 78. Nice value with GolfNow on-line.
3 hr.&15 min. leisure round.
Wet, Too Many Leaves and Bring Plenty of Balls
The course was extremely wet and in a number of cases our foursome lost balls hit in the fairway. That was due to the overall wetness and the ball actually tended in sink into the ground. The grass adjacent to the fairway was even worse since it was high and again very wet. A number of balls disappeared into the ground. The sand traps had little to no sand and were mostly filled with water. I would not recommend this course to anyone.
i bit disappointed.
10$ with golfnow. ..i would'nt pay more , but very nice country
this can be a nice long course at 7000 yards if you choose to play the blue tees.
It is a great value for the money. I recommend it to any Golfer looking for a great value and great game. We always have a good time here.

Good Course. I would definitely recommend the course to friends. Its has a beautiful view of the mountains
Course was in better shape previously
Course looked like it recently took on a lot of water. Some of the greens and bunkers were in pretty rough shape, something that was not simply due to recent rain. Friendly staff and nice facilities, nice largely wide open course.
OUTSTANDING
this was a great place to play and eat. the weather was overcast but the condition of the course was very good. I would go back a the drop of the hat.
course condition needs tlc
If you always roll your ball and give yourself a good lie on every shot you won't mind the present condition of Monroe Valley. But if you play the ball down, plan on some poor lies....even in the fairways.
The layout is good. The holes are varied and interesting. But the course is presently far from thick and lush.
great value
Nice course with great scenery.very good value....
a nice course with great views
I hadn't been out to paly Monroe valley for a few years. The course was in average condition for a public course. the fairways were overall good, Getting onto the rough was difficult due to being burnt. The greens were fair to good except two of them. You could tell the staff was trying to maintain the course and improve the tough spots. Had a fun round late in the day and fairly open. Paly it . good round for the money!
Nice Course
Pretty nice course especially for the money. We played on a Saturday around 10:30 AM. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens weren't really fast, but were nice and smooth. We played as a twosome, and played in just over 3 hours. Would suggest this course to anyone that is looking for an affordable, above average course!
Awful condition
I must preface this review by saying we did only pay $10 to play this course. With that being said, the course was in awful condition. Some holes had a swamp for a fairway and as we tried to play that hole the sprinklers were on. Not only were the sprinklers making the issue worse, but they were also a unique "water hazard" to us as we retrieved our balls and felt like kids running through a sprinkler. Other fairways (roughly 12/18) were hard as a rock! It was like hitting off of pavement. The greens were all half dead and and every lie had you putting over at least some areas of mud. The tee boxes looked as though they hadn't been moved and/or seeded since 1994. Even at $10 per round (thanks to GoldNow) I would say we overpaid. We skipped the last 5 holes due to the conditions.
Not worth the cheap price
This could be a great place to play but the conditions are well below par. I love finding great deals to play a round but this place just isn't worth it. The fairways, greens, rough & bunkers are all in poor shape.
Not worth the money
The course was in terrible condition. Poor fairways, inconsistent roughs, corn fields between fairways and horrible greens. It appears the owners have given up taking care of a one time pretty nice course in favor of planting corn corps.
Good course, Great value
Haven't been here in years. The price Dee me our but the course certainly delivered. A few greens were scared from excess rain but overall the course was beautiful. One recommendation is to create another set of tees. White were 6450 yds and holds were just under 5500. You need something around 6000.
Great price, horrible conditions, crops grown on course
The greens are in horrible conditions. There was no starter and the carts weren't cleaned out. The pace was slow due to the lack of starter or ranger enforcing pace. Many locals show up and get on line to tee off. Tee times are respected if you have one but are done so with a dirty look from those in line.
The layout of the course is good and it could be a great course with maintenance. Unfortunately there isn't much and the grass doesn't seem to be cut with any frequency. Some fairways were more like lawns. Another issue was that they have corn fields throughout the course. They look nice but interfere with play sometimes.
In terrible condition
It seems like they aren't even bothering taking care of this course. Grass was non-existent on many greens. Would have been very upset if I paid regular price to play. Will not be returning...
Worst greens I've ever played.
It's like they just decided to stop taking care of the course. Some of the greens had mud running through them. T boxes has divots all over the place. Even at $20 weekend discounted price I would choose another course.
Very Nice Course Layout.
Got behind slow foursome, pace of play would have been much faster. Greens not pristine, but playable. Fairways in nice shape. Course layout is what is most impressive with Monroe Valley, each hole is distinct and challenging in its own way. Enjoyed the experience.
