Booked online by myself.
Paired me up with a couple guys, which is what I’d prefer.
Really crowded for a Thursday.
Had a 4 some in front of us that slowed us a down a bit. Still finished a little over 4 hours.
Nice driving range and 2 chipping putting greens.
Wide open layout , greens weren’t the best, but decent for a city course.
Sausage wrap from snack bar was really good.
Pro shop is cc only, snack bar takes cash
I love this course
This course is more challenging than it's price fosho.
Nice course in good condition, but wish pace of play was better
The course is in good condition. It's very pretty and in good condition. There are some tough holes, but there are others that allow for scoring. There was a course marshal, but he didn't affect pace of play. Toward the end of the front nine, he acknowledged the slow pace, but it only got worse on the back nine. If the course is aware of the situation, do something! I'll go back, but not during the weekend.
Very consistent course.
Course in great condition! Group in front was slow and didn’t let me play Thorogh even though there we’re three holes in front of them. The Marshall helped me out though and got me Thorogh. Greens have a good speed and are the same Thorogh the course
Adding it back into my course rotation
Well, I hadn't been back to JC in a lot of years. It'd seen some tough times along with some severe drought. So a friend and I spent a weekday afternoon to get reacquainted with the course. Luckily we'd had some rain recently which helped soften things up a bit. In fact, it was cart path only on this particular day -- at least until we were about 2/3s finished and the marshal said we could go 90°.
Tee boxes seemed alright -- flat and not overly beaten up by those of you who take divots with your driver. :) And the fairways had a nice cut of grass and appropriate first cuts of rough. Same can be said for the greens as they had a nice cut and were in quite good shape. All in all, I was very pleased with the conditions after remembering my last outing or two on the course many years ago. I'm glad to say that it's come back nicely ... to the point where I can add it into my course rotation as applicable.
You can certainly scramble often on this course. The fairways are sometimes a little wider than average and any trees lining them are sparse. Some courses punish you with the rough but it wasn't bad; it was just where it should've been. These factors can make this course a little easier and/or pleasurable for higher handicappers and/or newer golfers.
One tip for the course. I know you've thought about it. Maybe you're trying to see if it'll come back with enough leaves etc. But the tree in the fairway on #18 needs to go; picture attached. The shot off of the tee box is already challenging. We don't need a 78% dead tree sitting in the way for our approach to the green which is bordered by two (2) ponds. This hole has enough difficulty in general ... we don't need to add the tree into the mix. Please cut it down.

One of the better public courses I have played in Hill Country. I enjoyed the layout, some difficulty but not to crazy. Fairways were perfect and greens were good as well, super fast! All and all I enjoyed my game there and I played very well too, which is a huge bonus!
Great round!
Nice to see that the greens are in nice shape. Mid week noon round and pace was good. Finished in under 4 hrs.
Great course
Staff were very friendly, they maintain the course in great condition and it is somewhat challenging. I highly recommend the course.
Great course!
It was my first time here and I just stared playing so my review probably won’t hold merit. However, it was pretty with the trees and little lakes. I never hit a tree nor in the water. So win for me! I’ve played at Lions and Riverside and Jimmy was a lot prettier.
