Overall Not Bad
All thought the course has seen better days, it's still a very challenging place to play. Traps were in good condition as I spent quite a bit of time in them.
Glory of the past...
Could be a great course if it was well maintained. Putts bounce all over the place. A few different types of grass in the fairways makes you realize that the course wasn't well manicured for a few years
Great Layout. Great Practice Facility. Great Price
This course used to be a TPC and a tour stop for the Honda Classic. It has changed ownership and went through a tough time. But now the greens are coming back and the layout is really fun and challenging. It is in west Broward, right up against the everglades and the winds really get blowing! My only issue with the course is when they replaced the greens, they must have flattened them, because they have very little break. I wish there was a little more excitement on the greens :)
The prices are very affordable and they offer a special where you pay an extra $8 and get lunch, free range balls, and ALL the golf you want to play on that day! I literally was sore after 2 rounds and 2 buckets! Great lunch and a great time!
Disappointed
I had not played here in a while. I was extremely disappointed. From a course that used to host a PGA event, I felt the course was maintained at an average level. For as many sand bunkers that are on this course, almost all of them (including green side) were full of rocks and weak on sand. To top it off, there was no drink girl ALL day and the bar/restaurant was not open when we made the turn (~ 10am). So we could not get any food or extra drink. On a weekend day this was what disappointed us the most.
Disappointing
We had a weekend round scheduled & happened to be behind a few fun loving groups who were not real golfers. They were driving their carts on the green & incredibly slow. We bailed out after 7 holes. I realize we are a twosome, but we were playing behind a threesome and five holes in, we were already at 2 hours. Not good for us. This is a course with potential but they need a Marshall!
It's got potential
I've been visiting my brother in Florida over the years and the condition of this course has the client they just redid the greens so they are OK but the rest of the course leaves much to be desired all the fairway bunkers are treated as ground under repair because they simply don't have the money to upkeep this course. I know times are challenging but it's a real shame to let this course go especially with its location. I really hope it's able to make a comeback.
No maintenance
No maintenance. Is PGA player really played golf 10 years ago?
Budget round
Good warm up course if you want to go bang a ball around a once upon a time great track. Staff was much friendlier than any other course we played at especially Ron the starter !
Would love to see them tidy this course up in the fairways even a little bit. Greens were playable.
I would recommend this course with all the above considered.
Course in good shape
Would have given 5, but sand traps were full of water from rain. Very enjoyable golf course. Watch out for the fire ants though! Love the GPS feature.
Nice course gone down a bit
I played this course as my summer course when I played weekly. It has gone down a bit. No cart girl on course that we saw. They sold us a promotion and we could not use it because there was a function in the bar that was private. Luckily the cart girl who we saw never until we finished was willing to see if she could get us some food and beer that we paid for. The people were very nice but the experience was lacking. The course flip flopped and the driving and putting range were now off the 10th green and was not convenient. Why they did it?? Not golfer friendly. I still like the course and it will be one of my go to courses unless the course maintenance quality continues to drop.
Good course, good price
The course is a good course and for the price a great buy. It is showing a little wear from lack of maintenance and that being from what I normally came to expect as far as conditions at the course.Still a good course.
We were sold a lunch, beer raffle ticket but the course had an activity which procluded us from being able to get lunch or the free beer.
The beer girl was nice enough to go and get us a beer and offered to try to get our lunch as we shouldn't have been sold it on that day since it was closed for a bar mitzvah. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating in that situation.
Course was in poor condition
Have played course over the years and can see that the management has lost all interest in keeping up condition
This used to be a PGA course but now it's for hackers
Marriott and golf links should be ashamed
good course- great price
This is a good course for this price, but this does not meet the TPC course standards that I have seen at other TPC courses like in Minnesota. Sometimes there is a bag drop person to help unload clubs and cart them and other times nobody there. The carts are in disrepair,
Horrible
This course was good 20 years ago. Maybe worth it if you are a beginner and scared to play on a nice course. Should have known from the cost! Previous reviews could not be real. Sand traps are now waste areas because they haven't taken care of them in years. Greens and fairways...horrible.
Course is good for the price....but no bev cart girl
Course is good for the price and the amenties/pro shop are also nice for the price to play. The course itself wasn't terrible and is a good value. We will play their again. Only issue was not having a beverage cart girl. Not the biggest problem, but maybe before you tee off a sign saying that so we can purchase some beers before we start. We like to support the bev cart girls so we usually don't buy 6 packs before we start. However after 3-4 holes we were dying for something to drink. Ariel in the bar was awesome and we had a fun time after our round relaxing in the bar.
Disappointed
This used to be one of my favorite courses when it was Heron Bay TPC, but it has gone and continues to go down hill. I keep going back every once in a while to see if it has gotten back to old form, but am always disappointed. Weeds on greens and in fairway. Purchased a bucket of balls from clubhouse, but when I got down there realized they had not given me a code. No reps in sight, had to go back to clubhouse get the code, then no baskets in sight, had to go up to driving range and bring one back. by the time I hit half a dozen balls, it was time to tee up. they moved the first tee over to the old number 9 away from the driving range and putting greens.
