Current conditions rough
The course was undergoing Fall aeration and sanding on the front nine, therefore we played the back nine twice. Overall the layout was challenging. Course conditions were rough. Sand traps had very little sand and broken rakes. A number of the tee boxes were as bad as I have ever seen - almost no grass, no level spots, uneven ground. One par four was being played as a par three. If the course conditions were better I would recommend this course because of the layout, but not yet.
Come on
I paid $15 for this on a hot deal. So no big deal but this course is just a mess. The front was decent and then you get to the back and it's just like you've got to be kidding. You can see graveyards of where tee boxes, fairways, and greens used to be. Par 4s that they've changed to par 3s. One par three on the back says 185 yards from the tips, I shot it with a range finder, it's 140. Another hole you couldn't even play from the tips cause there were literally 8 sprinklers on shooting water all over the place so you have to play from the women's tees where you still got hit with water from the sprinklers. There's just plenty of better places to play. River Island or Centennial will be a lot better bet.

Beautiful views
Course routes through neighborhood, which can be somewhat confusing. Also, there are no practice facilities on site to warm up.

Royal Oaks has done a great job maintaining the course. I arrived as a single and was paired up with two golfers. I had a great round and plan on returning.

Much better condition

Very good course; even better price!
Course is in very good condition.. Greens have very subtle movements that you MUST look hard to see. Variation of holes.

Nice Course
Royal Oaks was a decent course. Parts of the course we're in very nice condition while others were a mess. Has great potential if parts needing repair are take care of.

Fair conditions
My son & I play Royal Oaks once a year when we visit the father in law. We always think it will be better than it actually is. Course conditions are only fair, tee boxes needed mowing, fairway turf was spotty at best. No one repairs ball marks on greens. It occurs to us a little more effort could make Royal Oaks a pretty good venue. Maybe next year...
Good layout....fair for average players
We really enjoyed this course...liked the variance between the front and back side,..almost like playing two different courses...... will definitely return.

Great Greens
The Greens have finally come back. They are in great shape. The rest of the course, not so great. Lots of barren areas in fairway on several holes.

Beginners stay away unless you want some mad homeowners
The course layout was pretty cool, and holes were challenging as well as fairly long. The bad of playing courses in a neighborhood is of course the worry over nailing someone's house. I did in fact hit a house to which the owner came after me on his golf cart... wow; really? You live on a golf course and your house is literally 20 yards from the fairway on a par 4. Your house is going to get hit, get over it or move. The cart paths run between the houses and you have to use the neighborhood roads to get to them. Again, a cool course, but you better be straight on your drives for the most part.

Not Good
The only good thing about this club were the greens, long drives between tees reworks of the layout and just general bad condition. Will take a lot of improvement to get this place in shape.

Staff & fees charged
Our group of 4 was charged $102.60 with $15.36 charged to my CC. The course staff member charged each of us $29.49 and said I must get my $15.36 from the others. That wasn't right! But I didn't argue and my golf mates paid to cover the $15.36. I went home and recalculated to insure I was correct before writing this review. I've always paid the whole amount by CC and was reimbursed by the group. If this is the way it will be in the future, I have reservations about continuing with Golf Now which I have considered to be a great opportunity to play various courses at a great rate.
Ben - I'm sorry you felt that you were rung up incorrectly. I'm not sure what date you booked, what the rate was and if it was a hot deal time or one of our course rounds. If it was our course round, you paid a deposit (which is just a part of the rate that gets paid online prior to getting to the course) and a transaction fee on GolfNow. When you get to the course, you pay your remaining balance with sales tax added. It can be a little confusing and we apologize for the confusion. Thank you for letting us know your concerns.
Overall Condition
The course has a very nice layout & challenging. The fairways are in need of immediate attention. They are in fair condition. But, the greens are in very good conditions.

Some holes are under repairmen.
I think originally, this course is fancy, but unfortunately current condition is not so good.
