Enjoyed the course
Loved the course, it's to bad the excessive rain spoiled the day. I would like to try the course again in better weather conditions. I would highly recommend this course.
Great Course, Great Price
We were hoping for King's North at Myrtle Beach National, and when that course was unavailable we selected the West Course. Not much water in play throughout. Pine trees are the main barriers between holes and OOB.
Only downside for our day was aerated greens. Fairways and rough were in excellent condition. Would definitely recommend this course. I will be playing at Myrtle Beach National again!
Nice course for the price!
Definitely a nice course for the price. Course wasn't too hard and that was from the blue tees. There are hardly any water hazard but sand bunkers almost around every green. Grass was maintained pretty well. Green speeds were about average, not super fast. Only thing that could be better would be the beverage cart make more frequent visits. With a heat index of 105 degrees on the morning we played, it would have been nice to get more to drink. Overall, would definitely come again and try the other courses there.
Definitely a great value for the money, I paid $44, and I would play again.
The course is well maintained. The fairways are wide enough to be fair and allows you to keep out of trouble. The fairway traps are thin, which makes it easy to get out of them, while the green side bunkers are somewhat "soft". Their are many doglegs, but you could hit 200-225 off the tee and be on the fairway. Greens in great shape and not too fast. Their are yardage markers every 25 yards, well marked and yardage to front, center and back of green. No GPS on the carts. Definitely a great value for the money, I paid $44, and I would play again.
Worth every penny
What can I say, course was in great shape, greens the tiniest bit bumpy in places, not too fast. I'm sure this is one of the best $40 courses in Myrtle. Definitely would play again.
Very enjoyable course for all golfers
As a big hitter, I really appreciate the "generous" nature of this Arnold Palmer course design. While it is definitely an advantage to put the ball in the fairway here, you can miss it a bit left or right and still find the ball and play it forward. The par fives are all attackable (I had two putt birdies on both 1 and 10). There's a nice variety of par threes and par fours. Most of the greens tilt back to front, making them easier to hit and hold. The greens were in very good shape and running medium-fast.
The biggest drawback I found to this course was the number of people they packed onto it. They sent groups off both sides, with no attempt to keep appropriate spacing. The starter was not helpful, and there were no active on-course ranger. The bag drop area was overwhelmed as they had a big crowd arrving for the front-and-back times on the three course in the complex.
Overall a very good golf course with an average staff - I will go back and play it again.
Decent condition, good staff
MBN-West was nice course, in good shape, good staff, nothing to complain about. Was some pandamonium at the drop off (3 18s, using the wave system, not surprising), but the staff was friendly and helpful. Course was wide open and under a 4 1/2 hour round. Greens were a bit slow, but ran true thoughout.
Great golfer friendly course for price.
The staff was friendly and the course was very golfer friendly. Depending on tees you played from, the course could also offer a challenge.
Myrtle beach National (West Course
We thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. We were well teken care of and had no trouble playing our round in 41/2 hours. We were able to maintain our pace and the course was in excellent shape. All our needs were taken care of from the initial greeting and putting our clubs on the cart right up to the snack bar staff who provided us with delicious sandwiches. The value was excellent.
I would recommend this course to any of our friends in Canada.
Good course for the price thru GN.com
Nice friendly staff all around, clean, maintained course, would play again
