Winter round
Played here many times over the years. Club house is being painted on the inside. Not a big issue. Only big issue we had was no golf carts ready to use and pro shop worker handed me a towel to wipe off my cart. It had rained the day before. Expected better. Otherwise like the coarse.
Course played well. 65° days in December was awesome
Hidden Gem!
First time playing this course. One of my new favorites in the area. Very good conditions from tee to green. Will play it again next time through.
Really nice course
Have played here many times. Not overly tough but plenty enough challenge and a fun layout
Cart & Paths Bring Rating Down
We loved everything about this course enough to give it 5 stars except the dangerously wobbly cart and the cracks in the paths, which we consider part of "Course Conditions." And by the time we finished there was no one around to explain these to.
A little punch drunk
At one time this course was the jewel of the immediate area. I don't want to be too hard on the old girl because the crew obviously works hard to keep it in as a good condition as it is. The course gets a lot of play and I think most of it is by folks that either don't know what a ball mark repair tool is or how to use one. The greens did roll true if a little slow. There is powdered dirt in the bunkers, but at least it isn't hard pan (I was able to get up and down a couple times out of green side and had a birdie putt from a fairway bunker). The fairways were in good shape with little to no weeds and I didn't see any bald spots anywhere on the course. The layout is just hard enough to be fun without being "hard" (with the exception of 17 which would be a good, tough par 4 on the big tour - thankfully it's a 5 for us mortals). The staff was really friendly. The young pro shop gent made sure I got off before a group of 16 (shew!) and got me with a twosome I was originally supposed to play with. We got around in 3 hours without pushing or being pushed (on a BEAUTIFUL Saturday at 1:40pm no less). The snack bar staff was pretty slow, but quite nice. Best wait until the 19th hole to lube up (we did at the turn and it took a bit). I got a "hot"(??) deal for $44 with all the fees GolfNow feels they need to charge, but the two guys I played with payed over $50. Save your money and play the University Club (Big Blue). It's a course that actually delivers at that price point. Once again, not trying to be harsh, Cherry Blossom could be there again. It does have a fun layout and the houses are not RIGHT on top of the course (ahem....Canewood). I'd play there again, but I won't pay north of $40 to do so. I'll snake it between the houses at Canewood for a little less than $30 with nicer greens, pay around that to go around the corner at the goat ranch (Longview), or pony up for The UK Club or Marriot Griffin Gate.
Golf carts were ancient. Uncomfortable to ride in. No beer coolers wanted to put six pack in a grocery bag.
Terrible!!!!
0 stars!!! Paid to play. Golf cart ran out of gas on the 6th hole. Called the clubhouse and talked to “Corbin” and was told they’d be right out. Waited OVER AN HOUR and then I had to WALK BACK TO THE CLUBHOUSE which took all of 10 minutes. Would’ve taken a cart less than 3. Went to the clubhouse to find that CORBIN is a 17 year old kid that’s running things and Alex (I guess the manager) did not answer when given his number. This golf course is awful!! Please be aware if you’re new and are looking to play. There are WAY better places to play than here
Great Day at Cherry Blossom
Myself and two golf buddies made a quick overnight trip to Lexington from Ohio, in hopes of playing an evening round and morning round. Our evening round was at
Cherry Blossom, We were extremely happy with the entire golfing experience from the pleasant efficient young man who checked us in to the wonderful course.
8/23/21
Course was decent except for all the rain that has softens the course up. The cart pays are horrible and definitely need to be repaired l, felt like I was off roading. The worst part was with the heat the course didn’t have any water out at all!!!
Fluffy everything
Greens were fluffy, super slow. Fringe was furry but it just made it more challenging, depending on how you look at it. I don’t know if they over booked it or what but it was absolutely slammed. Course it self other than super slow greens with insane fringe it was a fun course with some cool views. Tee boxes were ok, fairways were a smidge long I’m guessing they just hadn’t cut anything in maybe a day or two? But still fun so if you caught it after it was mowed I’d say 5-5 but due to the uncut grass and super slow play I’d give it a 3.5-5 on that day.
Nice course, quiet round
My daughter and I played this course since it was about halfway between our drives. Overall, we had a great time. The tees, fairways and greens were nice and there were very few people on the course so we were able to play 18 in under 4 hours, which I view as a huge plus. Some challenging holes over water, otherwise a very playable course. The bathrooms in the clubhouse weren't in good shape and the cart paths are showing wear. Overall, not a top end course, but we would go back.
