The Home Course
About
The Home Course in DuPont is considered one of the best public golf courses in Washington. Throughout the walkable layout, golfers will enjoy scenic views of the Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains, and Mount Rainier. It's a long course at 7,424 yards from the back tees. The challenging greens play fast and true, and they are complemented by wide fairways with generous landing areas. There are several challenging holes where you'll face strategically placed bunkers and subtle, but tricky elevation changes. The golf course begins with a few open, parkland holes and then it gets more challenging. The seventh hole is one of the toughest, starting from an elevated tee to a green that is neatly tucked behind a lake. The final holes provide stunning mountain views for a memorable finish.

Good times
The Home Course is one of the best courses I've played in the area. The staff is very nice. The greens are in the best shape possible they run true and hold there line. The course is in great condition. I would recommend this course to anyone playing golf in the Pacific Northwest it holds true to one of the best courses around. Golf now have such a great deal you can't beat the price great round for $40 some of the best want to golf you play in the area. The fairways drain quite nice so there's not standing water even after a heavy rain. Have fun and try to play as many rounds as you can at The Home Course.
Great course
Challenging course but in great shape. Rewards well placed shots and punishes bad ones. The greens are still in perfect condition in October and we played after a week of rain! Would recommend to anyone who hasn't played. However as previous reviews state, food is non existent, so pack accordingly
Course in great shape.
Overall the course was n great shape. Greens were plugged 9 days ago, so they were slow and uneven. the only real problem for our group was the length of the grass on the fairways. It is so short that it is difficult to get under the ball around the greens. Not very good for average golfers. That is always the case with this course. Otherwise the course was in great form.
Enjoyable links style golf
I love links courses, but I have a few big issues with the Home Course. First, a must play for those needing something new. Many tees up to 7600 yds! Open fairways and no hills for walkers. I enjoyed playing here, if only I lived in the area! Now my issues...too many blind tee shots. I enjoy watching my drives land after a great swing, but not here. You don't get the experience. I can't remember a hole where I saw my ball land! Among my 4 some, we loss several balls we all swear was in the fairway. The wind can be frustrating up to 2 clubs extra. Only strong walkers will enjoy not needing a cart, since there are stretches of very long walks. The fairways were a little dry and greens were slower than I expected, but the general conditions were excellent. Pace of play was no issue, as long as those in front are fairly good. Nothing personal, but those over 16 handicap or short hitters will slow everything down. Unfortunately, I wanted to play black tees, but since I was the only one, it would have slowed the group so I was forced to play whites. It was no fun not using my driver on but 2 or 3 holes. I like Druids for the variety and not having to drive 40 miles through Tacoma. I played on a weekday when it was slow, but bet that when there's more players, it will play will grind to a stop. I can't say that it had the best views or kept my interest, but it was on my bucket list to play. Sadly, it takes to much effort to play there, and the experience is too repetitive, ie blind tee shot, look for your group's balls for 5 minutes a hole, rinse and repeat. There are too many fun courses like Gold Mtn, McCormick, Druids, Trophy, to really recommend The Home Course.
Note color of caps on 150 markers
Course was great. Sneaky water on #7, if you don't have the yardage book.
GolfNow.com did not save us a penny. Actually cost the booking fee over the published prices at the pro shop.
Not much in the way of food available at the course.
If there was a place to sit down after the round, we missed it.
skip chambers and head to the home course
Best course in Washington. Rolling hills, groomed greens, every hole is different.
Beers too expense. That's my only concern.
Home Course is a great challenge
Beautiful and challenging but a but over watered. It will test your skills but is a fair challenge.
First Time Playing This Course
Beautiful course. Will definitely play it again. Would have like to have seen more presence with the Marshalls. It was almost a 5 hour round, and there really was no reason for that slow of play.
beautiful day
started at 8:30 am and the sun was out. the course was great and the greens were in prime shape and very challenging with the undulations. grass around the green was superb and the fairways were good.
The home course
Excellent condition. Greens fast and smooth. Open enough not to loose balls. Enough hazards to make you place your shots.. Parts of some fairways a little wet/soft. Great views and beautiful course.
Great new golfing experience.
Sunday after 3pm the rates are too good not to play this course. Course was still in tournament condition so it played very fast, especially the greens. It was a very relaxing round, from the staff's friendliness, to the pace of play, all in all a great day.
Home Course
Very nice course, conditions I would rate as above average, minimal spots with bare lies. Course layout is very different than the norm in this area. Every hole is exposed to the breeze although today really wasn't an issue. Greens moderate speed and rolled nicely. Not very easy to get a line from the tees, hit what I thought was a few good drives only to be in the Hay. First par three very tough. Would play again. Recommend green placements since the greens are big enough for atleast 3 pin positions, so club selection would be easier.
first time
was disappointed with lack of clubhouse. the cart did not have either a pencil or scorecard when we started play. the starter also did not have either. the restroom on front was port a potty. back was a good facility.
hopefully they will get work going to have a full fledged clubhouse.
will play there again.
Great all around course
I'll remember this one for a long time. Beautiful. Very walker friendly, nice view of Mt. Rainier.
Top notch course
Played it just prior to the Public Links Ameture Championship. Course in flawless condition. Greens roll great and bunkering well placed. If your in this area play this track you won't be disappointed. The only disappointment at this course may be the way you played but you will be glad you were here to play. Just an awesome course.
Excellent golfing experience
Have been here for a couple of times. Challenging course with good distance. Nice fairway and green with beautiful view - Mount Rainier as background.
As good as it gets!
Splendid Sunday afternoon... good company... reasonable pace of play... and the course is in great condition with Publinx tourney just ahead.
This is a fun course to play!
I loved playing this course. It is in great shape, and every hole is interesting with some very deep bunkers! Great time and worth the drive!
One of my favorites
My husband and I play around the Puget Sound area, and we love playing The Home Course several times a year. It has plenty of challenge, is generally in great shape, and is still very playable by a high handicapper like myself.
We almost always walk the course, and it is a pretty easy walk. Many of the greens have 2 or 3 levels, so the putting can be tricky, but otherwise it is mostly what you see is what you get.
There is no clubhouse yet, which is the only real downcheck I can think of.
Love The Home Course
Course was in very good condition, although wetter than we expected - must have rained a lot earlier in the week because it is usually very dry. Greens rolled very well. The two groups in front of us were hunting for lots of balls, but the marshal was responsive and saw that they kept moving.
