My favorite course.
I'm an avid golfer with a 4 hcp from the St. Paul area. I had heard this course was a great value and worth the drive to Lake City. Played as a solo on Friday afternoon and flew around 18 holes in under 2.5 hours. Staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Facilities were in excellent condition - driving range was great, nice short game area, nice clubhouse and restaurant/bar. The course was in immaculate condition - greens were pristine, fairways were tightly mowed, and the rough was just rough enough. Fantastic layout with some challenging holes and a lot of variety. The overall experience was one of the best I've ever had. If you're from the metro area or western Wisconsin, this is a must-play. Highly recommended.
No course better in SE Minnesota
Private courses included there is no better golf course around than The Jewel. Pristine conditions, several tee boxes to choose from and "woman friendly" also.
Thank you so much for your feedback! We are glad that you had a good time at the course. Come back and see us again!
Great time and very nice views!
Had a great time-highly recommend a cart- this would be a killer to walk.
Thank you for you review. We are glad that you liked the course. Come back and see us again soon!
Great Course, Great Value
For the dollar you can not beat this venue, it is a little out of the way but it is a great setting in great condition. Big greens that roll well but have a lot of undulation, make sure you keep it in play.
Thank you for you feedback. We are glad you enjoyed your round. Please come out and see us again!
Great course

Great course
Spring golf. Greens were great, just a little hard and slower than "summer". Just beginning to green up.
Thank you for you review. Please come and see us again soon!
Wow what a course!
Course was in absolutely beautiful condition in late October. Greens were fairly fast and rolled true. Staff was wonderful, great clubhouse. Want to play again soon!
A very nice course and I have played a lot of courses all over the country.
It was a perfect day for golf in Minnesota and we were the first group out (twosome) we played in just over 3 hours and the sun was shining and the leaves were in their peak for color. We had time to stop and take pictures of the colors and did not hold up anyone behind us.
The course was in fine shape and the greens were not real fast because of the time of the year.
I would be happy to have an opportunity to play here again. The course is challenging and has some carries from the blue tees I played from to get to the fairways, but they are all fair holes. It would have been nice to have a card that showed the shape of the holes, dogleg left or right because I had never played the course before.
Long drive, worth it
Nice course in good fall condition. The greens rolled true and fairways are almost fully recovered from aeration. The staff was friendly and helpful and met me at the car with a cart to load up my clubs. On the front 9 there isn't too much trouble to get into. The back 9 gets a little tighter with tree lined fairways and forced carries. Be prepared to change your thinking and dial in your driver or chose a utility club instead off the box. It is a little too far to play regularly but worth the drive once in a while.
Great course to play, always in great condition
Like course, would play more if not for the 1 1/2hr drive. great fall course to play.
Excellent, but....
Fairways were aerated recently and I'm not sure if that why they were cut so short. They seemed way too short. Although I'm not used to playing such a well-manicured course, I just thought those fairways were clipped right down to nothing. The course, layout, and views are nothing less than fantastic.
A tale of two layourt
The front was wide open, the back tight and undulating. Keep it strating and the excellent conditions make it easier. Had one of my better rounds of the year.
nicest course in the area
even though the course was airated a month or so ago this course is in great shape
Worth the drive
This course condition is immaculate and the greens are rolling. Fantastic layout, but if your playing from the tips be ready to carry the ball at 220 on a lot of holes. My only minor concern is the yardage markers, the have a rock as a 150 marker and the sprinklers. Spent a lot of time looking for yardages since my gps wouldn't get signal.
Worth the drive!
Played this course with a hot deal and a golfnow reward for $40.00 for 2! First group out on a Saturday and the course was great! Perfect greens and fairways with plenty of trouble left or right.Forced carries on some holes so be sure to play the appropriate tee or you will have a long day. They could use 150 yard markers but they do have yardages on all sprinkler heads. If you haven't played it make a trip to Lake City, you wan't be disappointed.
Pristine and worth the drive
The overall quality of the course was in excellent shape. It was scenic and included wildlife. The ruff was thick and fortunately average length. The greens were smooth and rolled true.
Will be back
Everything was in great shape... tees, fairways and greens. Challenging yet fair. Greens can get a little wild, good thing green speed was a little slow. Proshop staff helpful and friendly. 2 hour drive was worth it !
