Terrible
Upon arrival, the pro shop was closed and no staff were about meaning we couldn’t get water or score cards for the course. It would have been easy to walk on and not pay the outrageous price of £31 per person, no such luck however.
The course is clearly needing maintenance, with rocks in bunkers and missing tee box markers. The bins were also overflowing, and the ball washers were bone dry.
As a result of there being no staff about, we quickly caught up with 2 groups of 5, obviously drinking and slowing up the whole course. At one point there was 5 groups of golfers on one hole. We gave up after 10 holes and walked in, absolute shambles. I await a full refund….
Great day out
Course was a lot of fun, some really challenging holes and some fun ones too. Cant wait to come back and we were thinking of taking advantage of the hotel spa ha
Need to up your game
Hotel looking tired and understaffed.
Poor signage throughout and little help from staff to navigate from golf side to restaurant side.
So much potential dying a slow death.
Westerwood
Could be a great course with a bit of investment in greens.
OVERALL “NOT GOOD” IN GENERAL.
Greens and bunkers in very poor condition, some work seemed to have been started and then left unfinished. Disappointed
Horrendous
Course condition is absolutely shocking!. The greens look like they have some sort of disease on them. There is hardly any grass on the tees. And it must be the muddiest course I have ever played. When we played there had not been alot of rain the previous week but the standing water around some of the greens and on the paths was deplorable. The fairways have all been dug up by the tracks on there lawnmowers or the golf buggies due to it being so wet and damp. One thing for sure for a Seve Ballesteros designed course the man must be turning in his grave at the state that the course has been left to rot .I for one will not be back.
Good day, good course
Spoiled by a very slow 4 ball, 4 neds throwing clubs after poor shots. Caused a bit of a backlog with no one prepared to challenge them so made for a 5 amd a half hour round. Can’t fault the course in any way as they obviously can’t tell who the muppets are before you go out.
Enjoyable Sunday afternoon
Enjoyed the day out. Take loads of balls as the rough is completely unforgiving
Ok
Very quiet which was great played 11 holes in an just over an hour, finished in just over 2. The course wasn't looking great.
Nice Course with fantastic views of the Campsie Hills. The Course was in good condition and quiet so I wasn't held up to much.
Greens Unplayable
An absolutely lovely course let down badly by unplayable greens.
The greens need urgent reparative work to bring them up to standard - a real shame as the course is both beautiful and challenging with a few really standout holes.
Great Layout but very poor condition
This could be a wonderful golf course, lots of challenging holes and a few hidden water hazards. There are a number of long walks between green and tee all of which could be forgiven if the course was in great condition. The greens were very slow and spongy, lots of hard baked bear areas around the greens and poorly maintained bunkers.
Come on Westerwood, make the effort, add the required investment and turn this wonderful layout into the gem of a course it could be!
