St. Croix National Golf Club
About
St. Croix National Golf Course is a championship course that is tucked away amongst rolling, wooded hills. This scenic course is one of western Wisconsin's hidden gems. The undulating landscape covered with mature trees can seem intimidating but the layout was designed with spacious fairways and bailout areas that act as an excellent balance to the more challenging elements. The well conditioned greens putt fast and true, acting as a perfect complement to the beautiful scenery. There are strategically placed bunkers and water hazards coming into play but it is the topography will truly test your accuracy as well as a variety of other skills. St. Croix National G.C. also boasts a driving range perched high above a valley that collects the practice shots. It is the perfect preparation for the challenges of the golf course.

Great Day on the course
Played with out of town guests. Love the elevation changes and the great views. Course was in excellent shape and is so much fun to play. A great day!
One of the best kept secret
The course is really challenging but so beautiful, always a great pleasure to play it. Staff and course were incredible, can’t wait for the new building to be done, thanks eric
Tough
Extremely scenic, condition of fairways and greens very good. Elevation changes, several blind shots and sloping lies make this a very difficult course to play. Hole 9 is basically unplayable even with a good drive. I won't play this course again but I'm glad I played it.
Great views
Course had numerous blind shots but GPS in carts with touch screens offered good visibility and shot creation. Staff were great. Cool hole 19 to practice elevated tee shots. Great chipping greens
Trip to the National
Great purse in Great condition. Thought but Far course
Maybe a better ski resort than a golf course.
St. Croix National is located in a beautiful setting among hills and hardwood Forrest. I was interested because of its close proximity to Stillwater, Mn. The course is located on the old Birch Park Ski park. That means lots of high hill tee shots to a green down below. Other holes seem to be cut through the Forrest and are very tight. It seems like there is not much room for error here. Maybe better golfers than me would appreciate the narrow fairways and many blind shots. I did not. I lost 6 balls in just 4 holes, and felt like quitting. We played nine holes, and at a “special rate” of $39 with cart, I don’t see the value. I shoot around 100 for 18 holes, and this course wasn’t worth nearly $40 for nine holes. The scenery is excellent, and other better golfers might have a better go.
Tough golf.
Very difficult course. Not much room to miss the narrow fairways. Lost 8 balls on first 4 holes.
Beautiful scenery, but kind of gimmicky golf.
Great staff!
Must Play
Spectacular view from every Tee Box. It was a very warm day, the staff was very personable, pointed out all the high points. Instructed to make sure to tee off from the Scenic tee on Hole 1. It is a difficult course, if you try to over play it, it will be a long day. I had a great time, I must admit, I had a 9 on one hole but I chipped in from 34 yards out on the 12th for Birdie. The green is a stone throw from the road, the passers by, thought I must have been on a signed out 2 day pass from a facility, by the way I was jumping around on the Green I was so happy. Thanks again St Croix National. Great job.
Hilly
Really hilly, I'm more of a links style player. Need to be able to loft a shot. Played in just under 4 hours so that was nice. No ranger, could have used one on the front 9. Speed on greens perfect
Too many blind shots
Very nice employees, course layout terrible, blind shots on almost every hole. Worst 18th hole I’ve ever played, I pared it and still hated it. 2 blind shots and my T ball was in the fairway .
Great views!
Myke was like our very own concierge out there. Great guy that made us feel very welcomed! Scenic holes with well manicured fairways. Greens maybe a little slow, but still nice.
Must play golf course
Put this one on your list and make a point to take the short trip into WI to play this golf course. My dad and I have played this course twice now and cannot wait to get back.
Worth the short drive from the Twin Cities
Sweeping views of the St. Croix River Valley. Each hole is exceptional in it's own right. My dad and I first played this course in 2021 and have been wanting to come back ASAP. Can't recommend this course enough.
Pleasantly Surprised
This was my first time venturing outside of MN to play golf since I began playing here around a year ago. I always envisioned traveling outside of the state would be too time-consuming and wouldn't be worth the additional travel time. However, this course was 35-40 minutes from NE Minneapolis where I currently reside, and even if it had been an hour or so away, it was definitely worth the experience. It has a great layout with varying elevations and winding fairways, which make it a great test of golf. I would definitely play this course again.
