Decent but can’t help feel slightly overpriced
Had a good day at this place, but the course is extremely bumpy so I wouldn’t advise the buggy rental. Staff are sound and course has some lovely featurescapes but feel it is slight overpriced at 30 quid a round. Would play again but maybe not at that price. Sound gaff though.
Little gem
Played this course in December 2022. For the time of year this course was in very good condition, very playable no issues. Very friendly at the Professional shop. This cpurse is a one off you won't find another like it anywhere in the world. Not to be missed. And is playable all year round no winter greens and greens were in good condition.
Sheep and mines
Great day, unusual golf course in a good way.easy to walk, every hole had character and sheep grazing.
The greens keeper was out on course and shared great history of the course, from where the lead mines were to the concrete posts along the road that were used in WWII to stop planes landing on the roads.
Greens were in great shape, bunkers too.
Golf shop staff were nice and helpful, plus the guy in the bar after the round.
Definitely recommend playing here.
Family time
Definitely worth playing. The facilities are….Spartan. But the views. And the sheep on the course. And the horse bushes. There’s a quarry. It’s like a links, but it’s parkland. Holes are interesting. Well worth it.
Lovely, quirky course, great fun!
Hadn't played here before but seen some good course vlogs so gave it a go and didn't regret it! It has a lovely variety of holes (including the sheep on some!!) and really quirky in nature on some of them, the back 9 especially is very good although the little parkland section over the road is nice too. Greens were very good and the course in super condition - several green staff were out watering greens etc while we played which is a good sign. Excellent value for money at £15 and will definitely be back!
Fantastic course
Course in excellent condition. Pace of play was great. No hold ups at all. Staff are very welcoming and friendly..
testing track. Not the longest about with the emphasis on good tee shots.. Can’t wait to return soon
North Wales Tour 11th Course played
Excellent Value £14 golf now £1 booking Fee on a Sunday can't argue with that had the course virtually to ourselves few juniors having a competition behind but we where never rushed Sheep are everywhere but adds to the course, In very good condition all round very easy to find from Holywell in Brynford well recommend this course even though it's up in the hills of North Wales it's reasonably flat.
Holywell Golf Course
Great Quirky course with the wandering friendly sheep. Staff couldn’t do enough! Very friendly and happy to help. Bit of a links course and a good challenge. Scenery great throughly enjoyed the golf and the people
Well worth the fee!
Such a strange course, more Lincs than most seaside courses... It's challenging, it requires thought and execution but luck may be involved. It's tight so fore is always needed! The greens were ok, Augusta national can rest easy, but they were playable. The club house staff and the members we met were very friendly and welcoming, the drinks and food excellent and reasonably priced. All in all, highly recommended.
Variation on a Theme
Although we were disappointed to find out there were 5 holes closed because of overnight rain, the Professional went to great pains to ensure we enjoyed a full 18 hole experience. The members on the course were very welcoming and chatty, which further enhanced our day. The course itself was a new experience for us, having played on parkland courses in the main, the fairways looked like they had been subjected to a meteorite attack some years ago leaving craters which have since recovered by grass growth. This gives the course it's own unique feature and adds to it's quirkiness.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our round around Holy well and would not hesitate to recommend it to others

Lots of Sheep
Sheep everywhere which added to the character of the course and kept the fairways perfwct length. Greens were as good as they get any time of year, never mind Autumn. Will definitely be back very soon.
