Hidden Gem . Eye candy
Wonderful course superbly set out .Each hole had it own challenge .The course is hilly and if you struggle walking a buggy is recommended . Staff and fellow golfers were very friendly .Looking forward to play here again soon
What a beautiful course!
Upon on arrival to the club shop I was warmly welcomed and explained the layout of the course. This course itself was in an immaculate condition greens superb. The fairways were presented very well and the rough was well rough. I would recommend this course to anyone it played very well with being in the correct position more important than just hitting it long.
Smashing course!
First time I have played this course and was really impressed. The natural hazards (sheep!) were an interesting addition. The course was in great condition and provided a stiff test due to some tight fairways. The ‘road’ hole at the end was a real nerve jangler and a fantastic way to conclude the round. Off the course all the staff were really friendly and helpful as were any members we met on the way round. All in all a really enjoyable experience that I would recommend to golfers beyond absolute beginners.
What a cracker
Spotted this course from the A55 coming home from Llandudno so looked it up, read the reviews then booked a hot deal @£16 each. What a great little course this is with some really interesting holes and when you get to the 18th and have to fire one across the main road it’s quite a knee knocker. In spite of being up on the hills it’s very flat so easy walking and the greens all run really well. I’ll definitely be going back now I know where not to hit my shots. The welcome we received was great too. Highly recommend this course if you’re in the area and don’t mind sharing your day with the sheep. Loved it.
Heathland Course
Excellent course in great condition for time of year, true fast greens , a delight to play
Enjoyable track
Great value for money on the hot deal. Some really nice holes with a links feel. The back 9 is best as the front has a few average holes (4-6) in a field with a different feel. The back 9 has a couple of string par5s, a characterful par 3 15th and a strong finishing hole. Just mind the sheep poop!
Real gem
I have always been meaning to play here & finally decided to give it a go, all I can say is I am disappointed... that I haven’t played it sooner. This course was a real gem, quaint & surprisingly really cute (feel sick say that but it really is). I was driving through the middle of a village when 2 large fields open up one on either side of the road and I realised the building just off the road is the club house. The pro was really helpful told me where the first hole was and any other issues that may cause a problem. The course itself is really open, well maintained and he sheep give it real character, most holes had small greens but great pin positions making it difficult if you miss them to make par as I found out. There are a few tee shots you have to play over roads which was a tad unnerving, especially as the 18th goes over the main road, but in all honesty I really enjoyed this course and can’t wait to go back again and again and again, just ashame it is too far away for me to play it weekly.
Like a Links Course
Club selection is very important to score well on this course. Irons off the tee on some of the longer holes is recommended to avoid the sometimes punishing rough. Under club on the hole with the old quarry and it will cost you a few strokes. Choosing the right club on approach shots is also very important as although there are not to many bunkers some greens are well guarded with bushes and longer rough surrounding them.
Tricky
Course condition very good you have be accurate on tee off loose lot of shoots if not
Friendly
I was received in a very friendly way by the staff and made very welcome.
The course is thoughtfully laid out in a natural setting. It presented a number of challenges that would be different on a second visit.
Challenging tight course
Very tough little course. Played at 7am and had the course to myself for the whole round. When I arrived there were only a few green keepers there who were all very pleasant but as nothing was open at that time I can't comment on the off course facilities or the staff at the club. The course itself was in good condition despite a lot of rain. It is a very tight and challenging course especially in the wind. Enjoyable and would play again.
This upland course had a very linksy feel for 15 of the 18 holes. The greens were in good condition and running very fast. The only downside is having to drive across public roads so be aware of traffic. The food in clubhouse was excellent and the pro very helpful.
Loved the course .Something very different carved into great natural beauty .Other two players in my party felt the same .Will definitely call again .Good course to play on the way to golf in North Wales .
Very social golf club, fair test of golf
Very welcoming and inviting club to play at. The club Professional, bar staff and members themselves all appreciate your company.
Course itself isn't great, short holes of which some are just up and down running parallel with one another. Greens are maintained well but very slopely for course with links features. Condition wise, Tee boxes need work and lies particularly in the semi rough can be appalling, with the length of grass in accordance to where the sheep have grazed.
All in all for the value paid, enjoyable outing .
