Eagle Eye Golf Club
About
Located near Michigan’s capital city of Lansing and minutes from Michigan State University’s campus, Eagle Eye Golf Club is one of the state’s top-ranked public courses. The 18-hole championship course opened in 2003 and was designed by Chris Lutzke, a protégé of legendary architect Pete Dye. Lutzke’s design features some Dye staples like railroad ties, severe mounding and pot bunkers. But the most recognizable homage to Dye is the TPC Sawgrass-inspired island-green 17th hole. The 9th and 18th holes are both dramatic par 5s that hug each side of a large pond from tee to green. Eagle Eye has a 65,000-square-foot clubhouse that, in addition to a pro shop and grill with outdoor seating overlooking the course, can host a variety of large groups, outings and weddings. Over the years, Eagle Eye has regularly made the Golfers’ Choice Michigan an Top 50 United States lists on GolfPass.

The challenge is the distance.
I like this course. Not very many courses have 7k+ yards off the back tees so I appreciate the extra distance. I don't like the course ranger following me around, and at this course you will be seeing him way to often. Often enough it makes things uncomfortable. For what you pay in green fees this is not acceptable. Once or twice a year I can tolerate an unwanted escort or observer, but not more often ....
the course was soft, its a great course, its early
Excellent experience!
Always a great experience! Beautiful layout and fun to play.
Great course
Played here in early April. Considering it is the very brink of the golf season, the course was in excellent shape. Worth every penny for this interesting pete dye layout.
1st time playing Eagle Eye
Course management,
The course was in great shape, the staff was courteous and helpful. The one thing that was a major issue is there were no gas or electric carts at all. I know it mentions it when booking on GolfNow but why would they not have pull carts available if everyone is expected to walk the course on a very warm Winter day?
Other then that the course was very wet which was expected but not too wet to be able to hit good fairway shots. One other items which makes it difficult for a 1st time golfer is there are no signage pointing to the 1st or 10th holes? No markings on the path which makes it difficult to know where to start and where the next hole is located.
Overall, very well maintained course with good service. Will have to try it again when there are carts and the course is fully operational.
Great course
Playing in Michigan in December, the course was still in great shape. No amenities were available due to how late it is the year. I would think they would have coffee and hot chocolate available in 38 degrees.
Excellent condition
Despite playing in mid-November, the course was in pristine condition. Very difficult.
Course is nice and challenging
Everything we expected it to be and more staff was very helpful and friendly great time and course definitely a must play
Layout great
Fairways were pristine...greens were a bit bumpy
Nice
Lots of hills. Greens big but challenging.
Top shelf course..!!
Course was in great shape with lots of beautiful landscape, water hazards, sand traps and tall grassy area's to navigate.
Staff was polite and very attentive, a true pleasure to play.
Awesome
Great course! Very forgiving yet challenging
Fantastic Golf
one of top 5 courses I've played of over 200 I've encountered. Only misstep is the grill, food was not good (had the Club sandwich)
Great choice to come HERE today
I wish I could give this 4.5 stars..... It's not quite a 5-star gem, but it's close. The practice and warm up facilities are great. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The course lay out has nice variety with a high score on shot values. Avoid the thick-mature rough and you can score here. A pleasure to play this course! High marks!!
I also played that weekend and I believe they didn't have the signs out because they were put away for the winter, I believe they normally do have directional signs
