Westchester Golf Course
About
Westchester Golf Course is known for its playability, which is further enhanced by five sets of tees that accommodate all skill levels. There are six lakes throughout the course and numerous waste areas filled with wildflowers and native grasses but sand is a more prominent element of the design. There are more than 75 bunkers treacherously lurking beside the greens and fairways. Golfers who manage to avoid the bunkers will find that a good score can definitely be attained thanks to generously sized fairways and only mild undulation in the greens. Although it is seemingly difficult, the layout is more approachable than it looks although it does require straight, accurate shots and a bit of strategy. In addition to the course, Westchester G.C. also offers an expansive practice range and putting green.

Not a $50 course
There were several greens that needed some work because the grass was dead in spots and most of the cups were either cut wrong or people just don't care how they treat the course and make all others behind them suffer from their abuse. Either way hard to finish out a putt . While making the turn I wanted a hotdog and some adult pops. I waited patiently and then when it was my turn I started to give the staff my order and a gentleman walks up and starts with his order and she completely blew me off. Felt the staff could of been more friendly.
Money more important than experience
We we started on 10, though we weren't good that. We had to go looking for the starter. At the second tee box staff members were placing hole sooner signs at tee boxes. Had to wait on every hole to tee off. Typically group ahead of us waiting for the tee box when we arrived. After 4 holes another pulled and asked if he could join the threesome. He said if we had to make the 16th by 1pm because there was an outing starting soon. Soon the outing ringing came by.
It remained slow after the turn, 3 groups a hole. After playing 10 holes in 3 hours we surrendered and left.
They were going for money over golfers experience scheduling tee times so close to shotgun start outing.
Nice layout, but a bit overpriced
I'd been wanting to play Westchester since first discovering it when driving past. Finally got a chance this past weekend. Greens surfaces were good, but spotty in places, and did not hold the ball well. Fairways were generally good, although some areas were sun-scorched and bare. Granted that we played in prime time, but for the price that we paid, I expect overall better conditioning. The course layout is very nice, and given the right conditioning, it could be a very popular course. I'd hope that course management reviews the fee structure, and adjusts to be more competitive. There are too many other good mid-priced options to charge premium prices for fair course conditions.
Nice layout. Challenging but fun.
The course has some holes that are in rough shape in the fairway, and some greens that are in rough shape. Would be nice if costs were lowered to match the quality.
Played this course before however, and it has always been in great shape previously. First time I've seen this course with those issues.
Not bad, expensive though.
The course seemed really dry even though we received a lot of rain recently. Also, no one was informed of an outing going on which seemed to upset more than a couple of other golfers. Which of course slowed down the pace of play to a crawl. Usually 3 groups of 4 on each hole. Club house is pretty bare bones, bare essentials. Pretty expensive without the golf now app for the shape the course was in. Staff was pretty friendly though, no issues. I'd play again, only for discounted rates though.
Dissapointment
Booked on golf now for me and my father. Glad now that we didn't pay full price. Very disappointed in the course. Not well manicured ground was extremely hard. Sand traps were so hard club actually bounced off the sand. Overall very disappointed in the course.
Great Staff
First time at this course. Great layout and the staff was very helpful. We like to get a round in then go sample the local breweries nearby and there are two great ones within five minutes of the course. We are from Northeast Ohio and we will definitely stop back for another round.
Awesome course
This course is great. The greens are well kept and the course layout is challenging yet fun for all golfers. If you haven't had the chance to play this course, DO IT!! You will not regret it. The staff was friendly and the course amenities were an added bonus. I will definitely play here again and again.
Great back 9!
Played 18 holes yesterday. Was great for the price, the back 9 was better than the front. It felt more secluded and open than the front. The only down fall to the round was the lack of beer cart. Good thing the club house had coolers!
Decent for the money
Course is average and decent value for the money. Layout is pretty basic and offers a decent challenge. Greens are not fast but were in decent condition. Pace of play was really bad due to the fact it was busy and etiqutte of groups was bad. Fairways were in good condition. Tee boxes were hacked up and left much to be desired.
Course was in excellent condition, greens were perfect. Played as a foursome and finished at 4 hours on Sunday morning.
Excellent deal
We got a Hot Deal for a $21 round. Would have easily paid full price.
Hole In One
I had a hole in one on hole #17! 159 yards par 3. Hit a 6 iron fade onto the green and rolls right into the cup!
Terrible pace of play
This course is a habitual offender for terrible pace of play. Don't let the fact that rangers are on hand fool you. The fact that they allow 6+ carts up the the 1st tee should be evedince enough. If they could get their tee sheet and pace of play in order, this course would be much better off.
Pace of play was not acceptable
The course was so overbooked it was almost comical, took 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes. Tee boxes were a dirt pit, greens in relatively good shape.
