Cecil Field Golf Club
About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

Good course Great value
The course condition was good. The staff were polite. The pace of play was very good. If you want to play a good round of golf without breaking the bank this is the place to go. I see negative reviews. Well if you are comparing course to other courses that cost 3,4 or 5 times as much, what can you expect.
Horrendous
Any Vets on there wanna start something up, let me know. The name alone of this course should excite but sadly this course hopefully has seen better days.
Good Practice Course
If you want a practice course this is excellent but remember the greens are slow & bumpy. The bunkers are not all soft sand.
Great Practice Course
The course has improved the last year but is still not an upper tier course. Greens are bumpy because not rolled daily or every two days. The fairways still need more grass thickness but are improving. If you are learning or high handicapped player a great course to Horne in your skills. The course is also a disc golf range too so you have to deal with that too.
Nice Value
Had not played in three years. Wanted to play a course without a lot of water hazards, and wide fairways.
Greens need to be cut, as they were very high and slow.
Typical Military course. Below average condition, but exactly as expected, and a good $ value, and close to home.
If you want a quick round, or either just starting, or have not played for awhile, I would recommend as you can work your way around the course without to much problem.
Frisbee Course. Not A Golf Course
Had To Wait On A Cart Because All The Carts Were Out. Once We Received Our Cart And Playing Hole Number 1 A Single Lady Golfer Goes To Hole #2 as We Where Leaving The First Green And Jumps In Front Of Us. Now We Are Waiting On Number 2 tee Box To Hit The Ball No More Than 50 Yards At A Time Down The Fairway. As We Finally Start To Tee Off There Is A Group Of Frisbee Players On The Right Side Of Fairway About 6 Carts Full With Foul Music And Foul Language screaming Out And Danceing On The Right Side Of Fairway. This Was Sickening As Well As My Friend Had His Little 4 Year Old Daughter With Him. This Is Suppose To Be A Golf Course Not A Vulgar Dance Club. Encounter This Several Times From Different Frisbee Groups Through The Whole Round. I Mean vulgar Danceing And Very Loud Music. Will Never Ever Go Back To This Frisbee Throwing Night Club. This Is Not A Golf Course Any More. Terrible Price For A Terrible Course That Allows This From Its Frisbee Players. Guess When You Dont Keep Your Course Under Control Your Golfers Dont Come And You Rely On This Kinda Trash. Worst Round Ever.
Hands down worst course in north florida
It used to be playable.but too many bad experiences..this one was by far the worst..no fairways..an not exagerating.its lawn grass an dirt..used to have ok greens.those now are gone.i kept telling myself as i paid 30 bucks an was 1st out gate at 7am to just play thru at least ur by urself an no one in front.nice peacefull morning.meanwhile hole by hole on front nine impossible to use a wedge as every lie, either buried in lawn grass(middle fairway i mind you)or on hard pan......then this is the kicker.i get to #10 an 2 groups teeing off going down the hole..r u kidding me.its 8am.an u let people go off 10th tee..i completly wasted 30 bucks to go play non crowded golf an cdnt even get that let alone playable golf.an clubhouse response was uhhh duhhhh
Cheap fun
Love it, the course is lacking sure, but for the price you can't complain. Easy goin and easy livin. Haters will hate even if this was Sawgrass, can't please everyone and of course the wind blowing the wrong way will offend snowflakes anyways. Go have fun and dont be a jerk.
City of Jacksonville should be Ashamed
The grass around this National Guard installation was very well maintained but the same can't be true about the golf course. The greens were spongy. This course reminded me of the field i used to practice on as a kid. This course has so much potential if the City would just put some money into it along with the seventies facilities. If you were in the military in the 70's and 80's you know what i am talking about. The fairways and rough were indistinguishable for the most part.
Come on City of Jacksonville where are the mowers??
When i started to play golf in the 70's i would go to an abandoned hole off the real course and practice for hours on end. This course needs tremendous money and personnel to bring this course up to par or in the vicinity. Just cutting the fairways would help tremendously. The facility are poor at best; it reminds me of some of the dumps overseas when i was there; gosh i hope i didnt get COVID19 or typhoid going to the restroom. The older man in the club house was very nice and had a tremendously nice demeanor about him. In closing, Jacksonville, Mayor, City Council put more resources into this course because it would be financially to your benefit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! People will come if you just cut the grass and fertilize!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rough
If you can double bogey each hole on this course, you can par any other course you choose. Good "out of trouble" practice course.
rotten
so ummm.well cecil has canceled on me before.sat hot deal.at least got an email friday 430pm.which was ridiculous in itself.BUT 2ND TIME.2 hours before.plus every single time you go to counter its a total hassle.all this for terrible greens an fairways are even worse.they should be begging people to pay to play.but its cheap so people go.unreal they charge 30 bucks non hot deal .its now unplayable cecil
