Cecil Field Golf Club
About
Fiddler's Green at Cecil Field Golf Club is located at the Cecil Commerce Center, formerly the Cecil Field Naval Air Station. The golf course was built in 1975 and has been managed by Capstone Golf since 2005.
Fiddler's Green is a regulation 18-hole course in a beautiful tree-lined setting with no development on its borders. The course offers a stern challenge, measuring 6,643 yards from the championship tees. The course rating is 71, and it has a slope rating of 125.
Towering pines shape the course as it weaves its way around the serene natural setting. Fiddler's Green's generous fairways leave challenging approach shots to some of the smallest putting greens in the area.

Getting Better. Recommend
This course is getting a lot better. The greens are in great condition. Fairways still need some work, but overall they are putting in a lot of good work to maintain.
Short game tips.
5 DB's to 92. Need some work. A couple of wet areas that I of course ended up around for shots 2 and 3.
Nice day
Pace was fine course in fair conditions rough fairways decent greens
Fair course
If you want to just practice on cheap course on day this is ok.
You have to stick to the fairway, still high grass. You don’t get any help if you hit a low level ball it stops in the high grass. Green are slow.
After all for 12$ and a nice day it’s good exercise and good for your health.
Poor customer service
The lady was very short and unwilling to answer our questions. The course was not worth the money I was charged but the greens were fair. I will not be playing this course in the future.
It needs some major changes
For the price, this course is definitely not worth the value. Not when Bent Creek is in the same price range only a few miles away. I want to like this course. I enjoy the layout, the greens are extremely slow but they are good. The biggest issue is the fairways. Between big patches of sand and the terrible grass/weeds, it's not fun playing here. Good staff, solid practice facility but I can't pay for another round here.
What you see is what you get
Don't expect too much, the Course is course, a little challenging. The pace of play is the real culprit, "Hackers" looking for a deal, and playing the back tees, hitting it to the ladies' tees. If not for that I can handle the unregined fairways, and molasses slow green. Will I play it again, for the deal I probably will, I played it to hone my game for Monday's tournament at a more upscale course, well, it honed my game, I'm ready.
Horrible Golf Experience
I will never here again, the owner has chosen to virtually no money to keep the course in reasonable condition.
Horrible golfing experience.
best i've seen
seems they are funneling some money into the course. the greens were green and best shape i have ever seen here. could probably be rolled and it would make them a little faster. some of the fairways actually are showing signs of bermuda growth where the others still need some work. it was mowed and looked good. its a challenging little course with small greens so you better be accurate. i would definitely go back now. the 18th was in really good shape and we were lucky enough to see about 30 wild turkeys near the green(not the drinking kind)
Ehhhhh
I want to rate it higher but this course just isn’t it, especially considering the other courses within 10 minutes. The greens are extremely slow & the grass of the course is more lawn grass than an actual golf course. And it’s not like it’s priced so cheap that you can overlook stuff. I won’t be returning
I won't be back
I won't go back it was like playing in someone's back yard, the greens were decent and pace of play was not a problem because it wasn't many people out there. If I had paid more than the $14.00 I paid I would have been highly upset.
The Best Shape the Course has been in Years
The course is the best it has been in many years 5 stars for the people who work at cecil field and the ground crew keep up the good work don't belive the 1 star on the reviews just go there and you will be very happy with the round of golf
It's A Lot Better Than Hyde Park.
It has its ups and downs but for the money it's a steal I rather go there for $22 then to play at Hyde Park for 30.
The greens are in the best shape I've ever seen though they're working on The Fairway but I understand what they're doing and everything's coming together they can cut the rough down a little more so you don't lose your ball every time you go over there but if you don't hit it on the rough it's smooth sailing. Thumbs up to the ground crew and the greenskeepers heads up turabi you're doing an excellent job keep up the good work. Mark S.
Glory days
When it was run by the Navy it was a four star course. It has a lot of character and love the small greens but I guess the lack of money is making it difficult to even keep the fairways mowed. I saw a lot of improvement when people started using the course for disc golf with its own layout but that effort and enthusiasm is in the waning phase. If the fairways were kept including the greens and bunkers that would be enough to push three stars instead of the current one star status. Oh glory days...
getting better
Cecil Field course is getting better greens are the best I seen here in a few years.Keep up the good work
We always have a good time playing there it's almost like our own private golf course there's only one disappointing thing I found out you cannot enter your score from there on the handicap system because they are no longer part of the ghin
Good for practice
I am hard on grading golf courses, yes the fairways need work greens are getting better and kids play for free i give this course and staff thumbs up....and the disc golf players were also very friendly
Greens are terrible
The staff is very friendly. The carts are great. The course has a great layout. The greens are not kept, fairways are not cut or kept up. So many disc golfers now that it makes playing difficult, even though golfers have the right to play through. You would think that the money they are getting from golf and disc golf, they could do better on the greens and fairways. Great for beginner golfers, but if you want to play true golf, not here. The practice areas are better than the course.
