Spectacular clubhouse, shame about the course!
I would recommend a visit purely to enjoy the clubhouse and facilities.
Paid $40 dollars each through Golfnow.
Course layout interesting, not as tricky as some have implied but the greens were awful. It poured with rain on the 13th and we were not sorry to get back to the clubhouse.
I do not understand spending so much money on the clubhouse and letting the course deteriorate??
Great course but gone downhill
This is a great difficult course to play for Central Florida. I've played it several times and enjoyed it every time. The course quality has consistently gotten worse, especially the greens. I'd play it again, but only for reduced rates.
We thank you for visiting us once again and we hope that you continue to visit us in the future! Our greens did suffer a slight disease around the time you visited but we were able to determine what was going on and treat quite early and the greens have made a great comeback, as has the golf course as a whole. Like I said we hope to see you again soon!
A taste of home
Bella Collina is not your typical Orlando-area course. It reminds me of courses in central Texas - firm and hilly with scrub-brush if you stray well off the fairway.
This place is in the boondocks, but GPS navigation makes it easy to find. It's clear upon arrival that Bella Collina has aspirations of being a highly exclusive golf club. The clubhouse is wonderful and almost like a small village. Must have cost at least $5 million to build. Staff is friendly and abundant, practically falling over each other there are so many.
The course design is interesting and challenging. A few blind shots, but nothing to worry about. Out of 6 sets of tees, 3 of them measure 6900+, which seems like a waste. Bunkers aplenty, especially off the tee. The course conditions are good, but nothing to brag about. Tons of annual bluegrass at this time of year; I suppose it will die off as the weather gets hotter.
Paid $75 on GolfNow, which I consider a good deal. Rack rate is $125, which would be a little steep for what you get.
Very enjoyable round of golf. Would definitely play it again.
We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the golf course, and we thank you for joining us out here at Bella Collina! We hope to see you again soon!
Bella Collina
This is a remarkable golf course. Make sure you pick the correct tee box for your game. This course will give you all want for a challenge. It is unfortunate that the course conditions were not up to the normal standards when I played there. The greens had been punched a couple of weeks prior to my play and had not completely healed. They still rolled halfway decent. The course was a little dry and not in it's best shape. I would absolutely play there again any time that I get the opportunity to play at a decent rate. You will not believe that you are in Florida when playing this course. It is more hilly than several courses that I have played in the Southeast. Anything $50 or less is a must play here! When the conditions are better I would take that number to $75. You will not find a course that will WOW you like this one does often. From the drive up to the clubhouse, all of the amenities and the course layout, it is remarkable.
We thank you for your visit to Bella Collina, and are very happy to hear you enjoyed the golf course! You are very correct on recommending to pick the correct tee box, as this will make the experience that much more enjoyable. As for the conditions, we did have a tough season as most courses in the area have but our course has made a remarkable comeback and will be in better shape the next time you decide to visit us! Hope to see you again soon!
just another name on a course
nick faldo's name is associated with this course but i can't see a pro or designer coming up with a gimmick course.yes i know this is a hilly part of florida but do you really have to move earth to try to make it as difficult as possible.a lot of money went into designing this course and a ton put into clubhouse and the extra amenities put why don't they use it to maintain the course, the greens were bad.too many blind shots and to top it off too much slope in fairways to layup on many holes or to hit to a preferred yardage.as for scenic views only the ninth and eighteenth gave a desirable memory, the rest of the course was too many sights of traps and undeveloped property.if you get this at 30 ok but i wouldn't pay more again.it took 3 holes for the gps system to kick in,i was supposed to get range balls,no one to direct you to where to get carts, where to park or directions to first tee.there's a course in north lake county called harbor hills that is just as scenic and a much fairer golf course at half the price.that is where bella collina should have sent their designers to show what you can do on a hilly piece of property and not come up with goofy golf.
We thank you for choosing to play Bella Collina, we are sorry to hear that the difficulty of the course provided you a less than desirable experience. The golf course can be a little difficult the first time you play, but after the first time you get a sense of direction to hit it off the tee and approach shots. When you visiting our greens had an agronomic condition that partially damaged some of our greens complexes. Fortunately, the condition was quickly diagnosed and successfully treated before any further damage could occur. We are currently recovering rapidly and expect to return to outstanding conditions very shortly. We thank you in advance for your understanding and we hope that you will choose to visit us again very soon.
like being in Toscany. wow!
Beautiful layout, great vistas. Challenging course for sure; what was Nick Faldo thinking putting so many sand traps on one golf course! A lot of fun to play, but greens need work (as we experienced on most courses we played during our 1 week golf vacation in April). Of note is the amazing club house, bar, restaurants, facilities; we felt like we were in Italy.
We thank you for visiting Bella Collina, and are very happy to hear you enjoyed your experience! We hope to see you again soon!
Great Course
Oneof best course I have played, beautiful layout, very tuff but I love it. Plus scenic view is amazing.
Thank you for your visit to Bella Collina, we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time out here and we hope to see you again very soon!
This Course is ONE HUGE GIMIC!
The weather was great on this day and I had high expectations for this golf course. The pro shop and 19th hole were excellent. The golf course is unnecessarily penal in that a shot that is placed in the middle of the fairway will find itself off of the fairway and in a waste bunker. Nearly every hole has a fair way that slopes left to right. Yes, I said nearly every hole slopes left to right meaning that you need to aim off the golf course in order to have any chance of finding your ball in the fairway. The other thing about this course is that there are tees on this golf course that are unplayable for the average golfer and would make this course challenging even for a tour pro. The back tees are 7600 yards and the members tees are 6600 yards.Did I mention that the member tees are three sets forward from the back? Absolutely ridiculous!! If you pay more than $50 you have wasted your money.
Richard I am sorry that you did not enjoy our golf course, it can tend to be tough if you don't bring your A game. We do have six sets of tees which allow for a wide variety of players to enjoy our course, and most do even with how tough the golf course can play. I am glad to see you enjoyed the 19th hole and the Pro Shop and that the staff was very friendly. I also saw that you said the condition of the course was great, we are very happy to hear this! We hope that you choose to come play us again and see the true value of the golf course, I promise the second time is much easier to get around once you know the layout. I would also recommend possibly moving up a tee box as our golf course tends to play around 200 yards longer when the wind kicks up with the elevation changes.
Spectacular and difficult
I have played golf in over 40 countries worldwide and Bella Collina rates up there as one of the finest & difficult tests of golf anywhere. The bunkering, the slopes, the grandeur, the varied greens and the length of the course are awe inspiring. This course is so difficult that I would not like it as a member's every weekend game course. But as an occasional treat, it is unsurpassed.
Hidden Gem!
It was a little difficult finding the golf course but it was worth the drive just outside of Orlando. One of the few courses in Central Florida that has elevation changes throughout the golf course. Will use all the clubs in your bag. I believe there are 6 sets of tees for every level of golfer. Greens were rolling true but need to read grain of grass as it can get visually challenging on the greens. We played on a weekday which was a great value for the money. The club is private but are allowing outside play until the membership is full. Definitely going back. FYI wait till you see the clubhouse....wow.
not for novice golfer
was a challenge with a lot of dofferent holes it is a course not for novice golfers
Thank you for choosing to play with us out here at Bella Collina. Although the course can be a little difficult we have a wide variety of tees, I would recommend moving up a set of tees next time you are here, so you can have more fun on the golf course. Once again thank you for your visit!
nice course, expensive food
Really good course and close to Orlando. Several blind shots. No water in play. Lots of bunkers. Almost $24 for two hotdogs was a little unexpected. Course was not in the best shape but very playable.
We thank you for visiting us out here at Bella Collina, and apologize for the higher price of the food. As are a private club our food prices do tend to be a little higher but the quality of the food should be worth the price. Come visit us again soon!
Bella review
Overall a nice place. Great staff friendly courteous. Course is challenging. Greens were below average today but in past have been good. We will come back again.
We thank you for joining us out at Bella Collina! We are very happy you enjoyed your day on the course. As far as the greens we have had a tough growing season, and our greens suffered a little bit, but we have gotten them to get gradually better day by day and I am confident that they will be in better shape when you decide to return.
Great facility but greens need work
Well worth the drive in past years but the greens were very sandy and need work. Great layout and excellent service made up for bumpy greens.
Amazing Layout and Architecture
This was our first time playing Bella Collina Golf Course. Wow, what an experience. The course winds its way through some beautiful, hilly, Orlando countryside. Yes, I did say hilly and Orlando. The area was originally orange groves, and in fact there are still lots of orange groves in the area.
The clubhouse complex is amazing. It looks like an Italian villa sitting on a hill, and yes, it does look just like the pictures on the website. It’s gorgeous. The pro shop is relatively small and not much selection for either men or women. Be sure to check out the locker rooms! The staff is very attentive and helpful. The starter, Willy, had lots of good advice that you would do well to listen to. The course is challenging, but it doesn't beat you up.
The course has a TON of sand. If you’re anything like me, your sand game will be much improved at the end of the round, or you’ll go buy a new sand wedge. The golf carts have a GPS and course info. I would suggest the course invest in larger screens. The small size makes it hard to see in the bright sunlight. The on course bathrooms are in the same style as the clubhouse and beautiful. They are the nicest on course bathrooms I’ve ever seen. Definitely two thumbs up for female friendliness!
The on course beverage and food cart was well stocked, and the staffer very pleasant. They have a 19th Hole Restaurant, but we had to get home and didn’t have a chance to try it out. This was a really nice golf experience. We’ll definitely play this one again!
We thank you very much for choosing to come visit us out here at Bella Collina, and we are very happy that you enjoyed your time here. Next time you will have to stop in the 19th hole before or after your round!
Different for Florida
Great layout. Bunkers are plentiful, but golfers don't take the time to rake them. Would recommend to others.
First off we would like to apologize for the other golfers on the golf course that didn't rake the bunkers prior to you playing, we make every effort to get everyone to rake the bunkers but ultimately it is down to the players on the course during he day. But we are very happy you decided to come play at Bella Collina, and we hope to see you again soon!
Townsend group
Great views and incredible facility. Very difficult first time due to numerous sand traps
We thank you for joining us at Bella Collina, and are very happy to hear you enjoyed your experience! We hope that you decide to come play out here again soon, and I promise the course get's a little easier the second go around! (Well, at least knowing where to hit it)
March madness
Great course, nice staff. Pace of play was quick. Replay deal was awesome.
Thank you for deciding to join us out here at Bella Collina, we are glad to hear you enjoyed yourself! The replay is a nice perk out here, at just a cart fee it makes it a great full day experience when you can get 27 or 36 in and enjoy the beautiful clubhouse/19th Hole in between.
Beautiful course and clubhouse
Worth the drive out to Montverde. Beautiful, challenging course. Make sure you wander around the clubhouse.
We are very happy to hear you enjoyed the course, and made the drive out to Montverde! We hope to see you again soon!
Great Course...bunkers were tough.
Challenging but fair. Good course and friendly staff.
We are very happy to hear you enjoyed yourself out here at Bella Collina. We hope to see you again in the future, and thank you for joining us this time!
Thank you for your feedback and for visiting Bella Collina. Recently, we had experienced an agronomic condition that partially damaged some of our greens complexes. Fortunately, the condition was quickly diagnosed and successfully treated before any further damage could occur. We are currently recovering rapidly and expect to return to outstanding conditions very shortly. We thank you in advance for your understanding and we hope that you will choose to visit us again very soon.
