Narrow hole that you can't even tell is a golf course if it wasn't for the tee boxes. Photo submitted by Sean8819622 on 07/24/2016

I guess the hole design was bad enough that you can't use clubs you have. So bad. Photo submitted by Sean8819622 on 07/24/2016

Very Nice Course
This course was somewhat challenging yet very fun to play. The upkeep of this course was really good too which was surprising because of it being somewhat late in the season. I will definitely be playing here again.
Fun little course - GREAT value!
Played here last Friday afternoon. Can't beat $25 to ride and $3 for a warm-up bag.
It was a very nice day and we had a great time. For a not-so-fancy course, they have a nice clubhouse with an excellent beer selection. We shared a few sixers of local IPA for less than $3/beer. The lady working the bar was very friendly and fun.
Range is very short - I couldn't hit anything longer than a 5-iron. But I knew this going in and hit a few longer clubs at my club (which has been recently airated) before I headed to Cross Creek. There I was hitting balls next to a fellow who was just about to start his shift in the pro shop. The guy couldn't have been nicer.
I hadn't played here since close to when the course opened. But I did remember that the course was EXTREMELY tight. You can't spray any tee shots here. We played the back tees (the "Black Golds"). Though the course is VERY short these tees should still be left to lower handicaps. If you can't hit a fairway wood dead straight most of the time you should move up to the whites and hit irons off the tee to keep the ball in play. You'll lose fewer balls and have a much better time.
Conditions weren't great - but I didn't really expect them to be. The course is in a swampy area so I imagine it's always rather soft - which means the fairways and greens will get chewed up. The greens showed a lot of traffic damage.
There is an interesting variety of holes here and all the par 3s are solid enough to be on any decent course. I particularly liked #5. It's about #210 from the tips, plays well downhill with a pond on the left and some bail room on the right. #15 is pretty neat too. It's also rather long and is pretty much a blind shot over the pond when the reeds and cattails are as tall as they are now.
I didn't have much of a problem with #14. Yeah, they turned a REALLY tough hole into a 6-iron, sand wedge hole but it's still a real golf hole. No complaints.
Pace of play wasn't great, but luckily nobody teed off for maybe 45 minutes before us so we played the first 5 holes in no time before catching the course.
All-in-all, quite a fun course and a REALLY, REALLY good value. Check your ego at the door, find a way to hit something into the fairway, then attack the greens. Take advantage of the good beer they have and enjoy the essentially free cart - you'll need it. I'm a devout walking golfer and this course just isn't walkable.
Poor Management - Poor Conditions
Made a 2:08 tee time through GolfNow. At check-in, my group was told to expect a 30-40 minute delay due to league play. Asked for a full refund, but the employee at the pro shop counter seemed to think we were kidding, and that "it was no big deal" to have to wait for the league players to clear the first tee. Once we convinced him we didn't understand how the course could think it was OK to schedule conflicting tee times, and that we really wanted a refund, he decided to send us off #10. After teeing off about 15 minutes later than scheduled, we played at a good pace to include through the turn from #18 to #1.
Finally, course conditions (tee boxes, and fairways) were poor, especially on the back nine.
We will not be back...
Great front/Tight back
Course was pleasantly in very good condition. Shot a 39 on the front and not so hot on the back. More or less due to the tight blind shots. Yet, very good layout (minus the 14th hole). Fair, fun, playable. I didn't play this course all summer because of the reviews but the reviews were wrong. A solid course.
Nice course
I have always loved playing at cross creek. The pace of play is great and the greens are back in shape. A good test of golf. Must place your ball. No driving at the driving range cos it is short. Staff are nice and helpful. They always get me on even as a walk on.
yyhe course was in good shape
This is a nice course excellent fairways and greens
Won't play again
There are many things in the negative about this course.
Small driving range, not allowed to hit beyond 190 yes.
Small putting green, can accommodate only a few players.
The 14 the hole should be redone completely. It is a disaster. Disgusting.
No sand traps were raked and the netting under the song is showing through everywhere.
Greens were bumpy. I blame this on the players. I fixed about 3-4 ball marks per green.
Pace was horrible
There was not a marshall on the course to keep up the pace. The first tee box was stacked so there was never any separation during the entire round.
Time to go back
Last September this golf course was in very bad shape but now it has recover well. Except for hole 14, which is still in process the fairways and the greens are in good shape. The rough is a bit choppy in some areas, but for the most part is a good place to play.
starter troubles
I've heard that the course has been going downhill the past couple years due to new management, so I haven't played in that time. It seems that it must be getting better because most of the course is in nice condition.
There are a couple of small areas here and there where you can tell they are trying to fix former bare spots, (tight rows of grass instead of a consistent covering,) but it was not a real issue, my ball only settled in one of these once.
The main issue was that it took nearly 5 hours to finish my round on a weekday! The starter seemed to be pretty green (hah) and sent out a large cluster of groups to the first tee in a short period of time. I was there for 15 minutes prior on the practice green and didn't see one group come off the 9th hole, so it seemed to me that sending some groups off on the 10th would have been easy. On the 11th hole he even approached my group saying that we were playing too slow according to the people behind us even though we were waiting 5-10 minutes to tee off on EVERY hole, (not to mention time waiting on approach shots.) He outright said that he was moving back to front through the groups telling them to pick up the pace. Doesn't it make sense to drive up the whole line of groups to see how congested it is instead of complaining to each group, back to front, that they aren't playing quick enough? If we weren't waiting, my group would have easily finished the course in 2 less hours.
Nice course, but lots of trouble
Cross Creek is a beautiful course, but rather difficult. There is a lot of waste areas. Drives over waste areas on many of the holes, and unplayable if you can't hit it straight.
Greens were large and gorgeous, but no easy shots. Lots of traps in front of greens to catch mishits.
You better be on your game, or trouble awaits.
Nice course will play again
Course in great shape, except for hole #14 (they converted a challenging par 4 into a lame par 3, maybe 50 yes bc of repairs).
Enjoyed the round, esp for the $18 price on the app.
Slope Rating
The Slope Rating doesn't indicate how nice the layout really is. High Slope Ratings usually mean more fun (more traps, more hills, more water, etc.), with a Slope Rating of ~ 125 , I consider this a low number. But this had it all. One of the few that doesn't cheat the women out of intimidating tee shots. It is short, only ~ 6000 yds., and is probably the reason for the low Slope.
fun time.
We played this course mid morning on a Saturday in July. Weather was beautiful. Course was in great shape except one hole was getting reno'ed. We went early to hit some warm ups and it was so empty marshal let us on as soon as we were done. Got a good deal through golf now which made it even better. I will be back.
The course
The course was in good shape except the 14 hole was close but other than that it was in great shape
Course was good
The course was good except for hole 14, it was too close to the highway and was noisy other then that the course was a lot better then it was 3 years ago
Makes you think
You don't have to crush the ball on all the holes, but you have to know where you're ball is going. Very fun course because you see what's in front of you and you have to think.
Course comeback
This course has undergone a comeback since the first time I played it 3 years ago. The course condition today is like night and day. Also love the quiet electric carts and smooth cement cart paths. Cart path could use less curves, however. Great value! Club house has a nice homey feel to it.
improvement
the course is much better than last year. they just need to keep maintaining the fairway and greens. They also needs a Rangers to check round the players past. at one time it was very slow.
This course has poor features
First time I play here , and is not with the money.
