Great Course for Beginners and Practice
This course is great for anyone starting out into golf or even practicing on using the shorter clubs in your bag like the 8/9 or wedges. My only issue I have with this course is that the staff at times get in the way of play. They would start watering the fairway and/or green with a hose and stand around where would hit or putt. I am still not sure why they can’t do that when no one is around the hole or earlier/later in the day when there are way less people.
Nice day on the corse
Haven’t played here for about three years. Was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the greens. Best shape ever ( going back 19 years). Price is a bit higher than it should be. The restaurant is closed, or it was that day. I used to love that place, as it feels homey and local and the food and ac indoor seating was welcome after walking these 18. Always a welcome par three respite from the long courses.
Great 3 Par Course with no Amenities
One of best kept 3 Par Courses I have played locally. Only negative is no Club House or Amenities offered. Good price for Course
A Perfect Father’s Day Stroll
I was able to make a reservation online a day or two before and was surprised to see plenty of times available (I have a feeling most people don’t know about the system and just show up). Because it was a Sunday, and Father’s Day on top of it, the place was pretty packed and the pace was slowwww. But that’s to be expected at a pitch and putt where a fair percentage may be learning the game. The conditions were remarkably good - both fairways and greens, and everyone we chatted with while waiting on various holes couldn’t have been nicer. We ended up playing only 9 (we wanted to get home to see the end of the Open) but it was great fun and great practice. Looking forward to doing it again
Golf, nothing else
Decades ago this course was a friendly, local place that delivered an authentic golf experience without the big price or long waits. But all that is left is a nice course with fortunately good landscaping. Gone is the pro shop, not sure about the food counter and hidden behind some cage that reminds me of cashing checks in south central is a sometimes friendly desk clerk. This used to be a social place with outdoor tables, chairs and places to relax between rounds and an active pro shop and events. Now with the empty buildings and lack of amenities I was embarrassed to bring someone here to play. And don't be discouraged by the ghetto sign that reads "no food or drinks past this point" - there's really no one past that point.
Great beginner course
Basically all par 3, great starter course. I really enjoyed this and would def play here again. Great for working on your short game, it’s not beautiful, but it works and I only paid $13 for 18 holes.
Great gor Short Game
Nice Greens and Lush Fairways for this little 3 Par.
Pace of Play Great. Took about 2 Hours to complete 18 Holes with a few Mulligans in between since not many golfers behind us. Played on a Friday at 11:30A. Bring own Water, no Amenities sold there.
They load up the course almost criminally. It took nearly 5 hours to finish this little Par 3 course.
A Faded Star
The Arroyo Seco Golf Course is pleasant 18 hole par 3 muni owned by the City of South Pasadena. It is popular for its open, tree lined fairways, it's small no-bunker greens, and for it being lighted for night play. Unfortunately the City of South Pasadena doesn't seem to value what it has because the golf course and its amenities suffer from neglect and lack of investment. The coffee shop hasn't reopened. The bathrooms smell badly. They have let the practice putting green get overgrown and shrink, and they don't cut holes on the practice green anymore either. It still offers a reasonable driving range and the mini-golf still attracts teen couples and families. But, it is a far cry from what it once was.
Lovely 3-Par
This course is excellent for beginners and for golfers who wish to polish their short game skills. The greens are not easy, they have challenging slopes which demand accuracy. The overall look and feel of the course is great, the staff is really helpful and the range is perfect. The people that come here respect the game and respect the course. There were no people with beer cans in their hands and loud radios on their carts. My brother and I always have a greate time here.
