OK Course
Course was in good condition. With the exception if the Signature par 3 hole, the course was quite bland. Once you played 3-4 holes, you've basically played the whole course. Hole designs were very redundant.
Good day at the Emerald
The Staff was friendly on a very busy day, The Course was is good condition, a little spotty around the edges of the greens and a couple of burned out spots. Love the design. Except for a rowdy group behind us yelling and cranking their radio, and hitting into us, it was a good day. Unfortunately, there was no ranger on the course to help us out.
Fun course
Great course. Been wanting to plat the Silver course for a while. Did not disappoint. The greens were in rough shape from lots of play over the weekend. If there was one default PLEASE people repair your divots on the greens. I fixed probably 3 per green.
Overall ill be back
Golfer Friendly
Wide open course makes it golf friendly.
Nice early bird rates. $40 with cart.
Not sure if it’s because of our 6am tee time but check-in personel is usually very cranky.
FIrst TIme
First time on the Silver course. Played a little on the long side for me. Good layout, great conditions. Had fun.
Awesome, Awesome,Awesome
Well groomed course, staff was great, clubhouse was very clean, nice challenge for an amateur like me, would definitely play
again and recommend it to other's.
Course was a bit wet; 17th hole was a challenge
We golfed as a three-some. All of us walked the first nine, but one decided to rent a cart for the second nine.
The course was aesthetically pleasing, but still quite damp in spots following the previous day's soaking. The first 4 fairways had clumps of mowed grass.
We found the course was a bit long for walking as there sometimes is a distance between the green on the finished hole and the tee box of the next one.
The 17th hole is a real challenge for a walker. It is both long and has a number of hills and valleys to traverse.
Slow play
We paid for 18 with a 6::00 pm tee time only got to play 12 holes painfully slow.
First Time - Silver Course
I haven't been to this course before but overall it was a good experience. Pretty flat, plain course but forgiving if you miss a shot. Not much water, which was nice. I enjoyed my round and would recommend it if you haven't played it.
Longest day of golf
one of the longest day of golf that I've ever played. We started off after the last group of a scramble on the Silver course today. Found out that this tournament all started on number one hole instead of doing a shot-gun start. When we got to the second hole, the fourth tee box is close and there were already two groups on the tee box, with another group just finishing on the third hole. waited allot on each shot. No ranger to keep groups moving. Our tee time was for 10:56 am. We were called up to number one a good 10-15 mins early. Was to many groups pushed out on top of each other. It took 5 hours and 10 mins to get our round in. We do like this course, but I'll never play this year again. It's like there just trying to push the people thru. Only thing today that was good is that we got paired up with a very nice couple from out of state.
We will be back
Loved our day on Emerald Greens Silver Course. The round took over 5 hours, which was burdensome, but the course could not have been better. Kudos to the Food Wagon, the food at the turn was quick and delicious!
We could play here anytime.
Nice course!
I am new to Golfnow.com and this is the first time I have played Emerald Greens. It was in very good shape and the greens were big and true. The staff was extremely nice as well! I will be back!
Poorly designed, unimaginative, and in bad shape
Emerald Greens is situated on rolling terrain among the farm fields of Hastings. It's a shame the owner and architect couldn't take advantage of this opportune piece of land for the Silver course. About 12 of the holes are identical - straight or with slight doglegs, framed with boring, smallish trees, with a fairway bunker or two (and some thrown in the middle of fairways completely illogically, such as Hole #2). Don't let the island green (which is so massive on such a short hole it almost can't be missed) and square green (on an otherwise unremarkable hole) fool you - this is not a creative, well thought out golf course. The greens are laughable - either they are flat with one ridge, or illogically domed with no flat place to put the pin on the entire green. The course was in awful shape, with many bare spots in the fairways, little distinction between rough and fairway, shaggy fringes and approach areas, and inconsistent, hard greens that held virtually no shots, no matter how much spin. Other public courses charging similar rates are in far, far better shape right now. I was incredibly disappointed by Emerald Greens and will not be back. Charging $35 after 4PM is stealing for a course this poorly designed and in such bad condition.
Great Day for Golf
Even though the course was packed all honored social distancing from staff to patrons and the pace of play was great. Fun round with a friend.
The staff in the clubhouse was very close to rude. The only helpful person was Joe, the starter. We tipped him. I know there are Covid rules but I was wearing a mask. We played the Silver course and will try it again but if met with the same near rudeness it will be our last.
