Couldn’t pay me to golf here
Staff are very unfriendly. Driving range, practice putting is only available to golfers with a tee time, CAN NOT practice here. Course conditions are horrible compared to what you pay and value offered at other courses in the are. Would not recommend.
Cougar Creek Golf Resort
This Bill Robinson design opened 40 minutes west of Edmonton back in 1996. A lot of years have passed since I last played here.
Alberta just endured a heat wave followed by days of smoke from forest fires burning in the neighboring provinces of BC and SK. The smoky, overcast grey skies and light drizzle we played under wasn't a game breaker.
Amenities include an aquatic driving range, separate chipping and putting greens and a short game practice area. The pro shop and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful.
With smart bunker placement, varied elevation changes and the challenge of numerous water hazards meandering through the property, a casual round on this 18 hole parkland style course can be a test for even the seasoned player.
As many of the tree lined fairways can attest, accuracy off the tee is crucial. The rough being wet today was penalizing. Putting surfaces offered a fair test without being tricky. The course plays a respectable 6,800 yards from the tips, but many holes focus on control over length.
I would have liked to have brought my "A" game today but some days you have it and other days you don't. Unlike Bryson it wasn't my equipment, it was the golfer.
Cougar Creek should satisfy the avid golfer's expectations of a good product for a good price.

Freshly punched greens was disappointing but layout was very good with lots of options off the tee. Would recommend this track
Good course and good value
Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Course was tough but fair. Fall weather so lots of leaves and it was a windy day but can’t blame some poor shots on that. Pace was good, finished in 4 hours.
It was the first time playing this course . The course was in great shape and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The scenery there was beautiful making it a pleasure to play.
Always a pleasure to play
Always enjoy getting over to Cougar, just a short drive from the front door. Always seem to score well there and you can make it Fun and Challenging to suit your game. It's been in excellent shape since opening, thanks to all. Staff just Awesome, highly recommend Cougar..........
P.S. Great Guys Mike , Bob and Gerry from G.P.
Good Conditions at Cougar
Had a late afternoon tee-time which I don't normally play as I like the morning rounds. Found the Pace of Play very Slow but course conditions were great, friendly staff and a pleasure to play. Will go back to play again.
Great valve
The course is in fantastic shape this year. Staff was awesome
Cougar Creek Resort great course
Did not know what to expect first time on the course beautiful course really well manicured grass fast greens and great staff.
Cougar after a soaking rain
Only a few spots that collected water, so overall drainage is very good. Walked the course in 3 hours 15 minutes and played through a foursome who had to keep carts on paths.
