Awesome course
This course is one of the best places to play on vancouver island. Almost guaranteed to see deer all over the course. Also watch out for the Ravens on the 10 th hole they will eat your hotdog. Treat yourself and play this beautiful course in nature.
Always a challenge but fun to play
We golfed 18 holes with a group of 4 it took a little longer as we let a couple of people through but overall the course was good for this time of year. Friendly staff as always, had a good hot dog and the facilities are all neat and clean.
A fantastic way to spend the first day of spring!
course was in excellent shape for March. A little confused about the temporary tee at 7 of all holes and the bunkers could use to be raked but early season conditions I guess. The staff and members are all great and would definitely tell everyone to put a round of 18 here on their list of things to do this weekend.
Golf in February Vancouver Island
The course condition for February was only average because of the time of the year, however we wore normal shoes and our feet did not get wet. The greens a bit slow again for the time of the year. Storey Creek is the best course on the Island hands down.
Fair course
Overall, the course could be so much more. Fairway design is a bit ordinary, winter play is always muddy and Lots of Temp greens, never heard of any other courses nearby having temps. Maybe its time to thin out the trees and let some sun in on those greens! Rates are a bit high for winter unless for golfnow specials, and summer rates don't even go there....way too over priced!
Great November Golf
Storey Creek is a beauty of a course and to be able to play it in late November on a sunny and warm day was awesome. The course is beautiful and in very good condition. Yes the fairways were squishy in places but still an easy walk. We hardly saw anyone else so the pace pf play was ours to set. There were more deer than golfers on the course and of course great blue herons as well. You really do leave the world behind when you play here.
Beautiful Course
For how wet it has been in the area, this course is still pristine. Greens were a little soft but held up well. Lots of wonderful views along the way.
One of the best courses on Vancouver Island
Storey creek golf course is truly "a course in nature".
Beautiful to see all the wildlife around you.
Every fairway is seperated from each other by evergreen trees.
My wife and I call it a "WALK IN A PARK" every time we play a round.
Great golf course
One of the best courses on the Island....... will throw a little bit of everything at you.
Really enjoyed the day here!!
Brilliant
Fantastic staff, greens are receptive, fairways are like carpets and lush ruff. Angelic sand bunkers!
autumn golf
Greens were very slow and ball stuck like glue. Group in front of us were VERY slow...we spoke to the pro shop, they came out right away and sorted them out....rest of the round went better. Love this course!!!
A definite must-play on any Vancouver Island trip
Storey Creek Golf Club can be somewhat busy, yet you feel like you're the only one on the course at the times. That's because each of the holes is carved through the forest. Designed by Les Furber, this 6,800-yard par-72 is plenty tough, but certainly fair. It's in very good shape, and the with the views of the mountains, nature and interesting greens complexes, you'll never get bored. Plus, there are no homes, just nature. Great course to walk. My only criticism is that the forward tees are too long. The par 5s, for example, are all around 450 yards or longer, which will require more than three shots to reach for many players.
Excellent course value
A very nice track on the northern island.
The condition in September was very good, though you could tell they had a dry summer.
The course layout is very interesting, and one that I look forward to playing again. There are many risk/reward shots, which I find makes a round more exciting.
The value through golfnow.com was exceptional. To pay under $50 for a course of that calibre is great value. I look forward to returning!
a course in nature
this is a pure golf course not a housing development with golf holes mixed in
Great Golf Course
Great course cut out of the woods, no houses, challenging holes, hardly see another group on the course
As always great
Greens were great though a little slow probably due to later in the day.
True hidden gem!!!
Went to university on the island and have played this course numerous times. Now own a business which takes me to the island a few times a year. Always make arrangements to catch a round at this wonderful track. Well worth the drive from central island. I would suffice to say even Victoria. Play this course, I promise you will not be disappointed.
One of the Best in the Province.
- One of Golf Digests places to play in North America
- #1 Ranked Public Golf Course in British Columbia 2014, PGA of BC
Grew up playing the course and have loved it forever.
Every hole is isolated by trees and is as quiet as nature!
Since a major staff change around 2010 the course has been in great shape tee to green every time I've played it. The layout is superb demanding different shots all around, quite usually demanding the opposite shape of your tee shot into the green. Rather narrow in general. Wide of the rough comes trees with brush making ball retrieval challenging. Greens are well protected but generally allow for a run up. Bunkers are well placed throughout. Streams and ponds come into play on several holes but are easily avoidable if the correct shot is played. A first timer would be advised to play with member or play a couple of rounds to score well as your plans of attack off the tees may not be clear upon first glance.
Lots of solitude and wildlife to be had!
great course
This is the best course north of Victoria. It is a great layout through a old growth forest. No two holes really overlap. I highly recommend this golf course.
Beautiful naturally wooded course
This is my home course and recommend it to all golfers. A beautiful track cut through second growth timber. You will not see any housing or buildings. The staff is friendly courteous and helpful.
